Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Review – Conclusion.

Xiaomi redmi note 3 is a worthy upgrade of Redmi Note 2 and the company went an extra mile by throwing a fingerprint scanner on the back for security and faster unlocking.

The build of the phone is topnotch, the 3.5mm audio jack on the top, the USB port on the bottom (and has OTG capability) with the power and volume keys on the right and well placed.

Too bad that xiaomi took away the expandable micro SD slot found in all previous Redmi series and disappointingly placed the speaker grilles at the back, thereby making it difficult to hear the phone ring or music play when it is laying with its back on a flat object.

The music from the speaker is loud and clear and one cannot miss a call in a crowd.

The 5.5 inch, full HD IPS display that translates to around 403 ppi delivers very vibrant and crisp display with the yellow tinge to the image as was seen in some Redmi Note 2.

Yes.. Its not a good phone if its rooted from factory. Thats too Significant an alteration to make to the Android Os without the express permission of the User. You may not understand this if you aren't really tech savy.

I bet you've never used a device running MIUI rom. How about you Google it rather than make unfounded assumptions?

Hey am not going personal on you, I never said YOU ARE NOT TECH SAVY, so whats the fuse about?

I haven't used miui Rom truly but I can categorically tell you any ANDROID operating system that comes Pre rooted is not a good one.. Am surprised you are disputing this and that why I said you may not understand if you aren't tech savy.

Rooting comes with a lot of huge dangers and is not advisable by virtually all Android phones manufacturers in the world, that is why before you root your phone there ought to be several stages to undergo (except these Mtk devices which a one click app will help),.. This stages of rooting would at least give an assurance to the manufacturer that those rooting their phones are at leat a bit tech savy and therefore know the consequences.

Why do you think you have to unlock developer mode on your phone, why do you think certain things luke USB debugging have to be enabled and giving express permission before its use, why fo you think the ADB method of rooting will require your acceptance before you can move ahead.? These are controls to ensure rooting "is not so easy" because of the consequences involved.

Having a prerooted device and selling it to someone who isn't tech savy to know what rooting is, is very dangerous and thus I said it isn't a good android phone. Not when we had the stagefright fear just recently that could ruin the whole reputation of Android immensely.

Please if what I have written up isn't clear, you can Google the dangers of using an android operating system (it is open source, so expect this) and then read widely on the dangers of even going further to root an android phone.. This should clear things for you a bit.

But as i said before, if you aren't tech savy at all, you may still not understand this. Merry Christmas.

There's no personal attack on my initial post. I was only making reference to your statement that people that don't agree with you are not "tech savvy".

FYI I stopped reading after you said you've not used MIUI before. Maybe when you do, you'll see the error in your assumption.

Cheers

Totally agree with you man, no decent Company makes alterations to an android OS and sell it off to the public.. There are apps that require log in ( banking apps) that won't let you login once SU binaries are detected.. And also like you said, the device is vulnerable to attack.

Those that choose to root know and accept the dangers involved, it should be left to their discretion.

Unfortunately, you notice this trend in some of the Chinese phone manufacturers..
