What is all these rigmarole by the government. In a simple sentence of four words - "Subsidy has been removed'" at least for the first quarter of 2016.

In the past, cost was more than pump price, that was why we had subsidy from government. From January 2016, pump prices will be higher than cost - 9 kobo in nnpc stations and 21 kobo in other stations, so consumers will be subsidizing govt.

Anyway, government has successfully substituted the word 'subsidy' with a more politically correct - 'price modulation'.

Why is government trying to deregulate and regulate at the same time? If you are going to remove subsidy, why not let d forces of demand and supply determine d price of the commodity?
You can't stop subsidy and impose price check again now abi?

Are you a dealer?

Cool (half bread is better than . . .) if no subsidy.

A stronger Naira/working refineries would have been so helpful in bringing prices to the N50/litre range.

. . . wondering why you want the populace at the mercy of oil dealers without regulation -- fuel (PMS, DPK, AGO) is not your average everyday commodity that can be left unregulated -- at least not in a country of vultures like ours. undecided

The average price of PMS around the world is 1.00 U.S dollars.

What is the minimum wage in countries where PMS sells that high? Can it be compared to the paltry 19k (which they are even threatening to reduce) Nigerians are receiving as minimum wage?

Reduction has been confirmed yes.
However, no details has been provided.

Fair enough pmb will be addressing the nation by 7.00pm today, why don't let's wait for more details before rushing on name calling, labeling, mud-slugging and all sorts of speculations?

I guess he'll address us thru BBC Hausa. I don't understand Hausa and before the whole thing is completely translated to English, words may have been removed or edited to suit the ears of many.. cheesy

Since we have technically won the war on Boko Haram, we might as well get a technical reduction in fuel price. Everything about this government is technical, except the lies of 'Comical Ali'

50kobo change cheesy

Indeed, this change thing is turning into a comedy. I guess nigerians are supposed to start popping the champagne for this 'massive' reduction in the pump price. These people are just a bunch of jokers.

Can you explain why you think the price reduction is silly?

Fact is....it has become cheaper to import fuel...so prices must come down. That is why GEJ first reduced the price...it was the then govt's way of acknowledging the price reduction
