TonyeBarcanista: Tonye my man, Do you also agree that the ikwerres, ndoni and etche are igbos? they can never be ijoid and you know this. please stop passing false information online all in the name of south south. Please Brother. My mum's sister married an ikwerre man based in port harcourt and he speaks fluent igbo, his surname is igbo, so im wondering why you keep saying ikwerres aren't igbos |

willow0801: And soo... Tell them to freaking find their roots back to the east. And if they dont want to, let them be where they want or ain't you the same people who preach 'freedom of self determination'. You want that for your tribe but u deny this people that same right. Ain't that kinda selfish . (Aniomans said they ain't Ibos, ikwerre ,deltans, ndonis etc, all of them have denied being ibos so wat exatly is the bone of contention). Let this people choose where they wanna belong and who they want to be. they have made that assertion times without number so stop trying to tell them their identity when you are not their creator. To think they even saw civilization before y'all tells a lot. Btw I wasn't even talking to you so carry your shambles and bambles outta my face. Peace 7 Likes 1 Share |

EasternActivist: The op actually lied about the road part. The reason why the north has better road is because of the low population density compared to the SE. The pressure on Onitsha-owerri road is higher than that of abuja to keffi or even arid desert kano-kaduna. Another testament that the East is more populated than the north as against their fraudelent census figures and therefore needs greater attention. |

willow0801:My brother, Tonye did not say the Ikwerres, Ndoni and Etches are not Igbo. Tonye did not say they are Ijaw or Ijoid(that will be silly), they(Ikwerre, Etche and Ndoni) said they aren't Igbos but a distinct group. They traced their origin to benin(not me). What is my own offence? I'm only calling them what they said I should call them. 4 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista: They did not trace it to any edo brother, stop it, my uncle will never watch anyone say his heritage is from edo, i dont believe any thing peddled on the internet anymore.. all i did was ask, my taxi driver is an etche man and he calls himself a proud igboman, we must learn the difference. We all came out from one ancestor but does it mean today we are from the tribe of our ancestors.. there is a big difference brother. Ikwerre, Etche and Ndoni are igbos, please let us leave it that way. by the way happy new year bro, wish you the best |

willow0801: I can see that your points are void of insults and ready for intelligent discussions. With due respect to the Igbos as an observer and regular fan of Nairaland/politics....lots of posts from my Eastern brothers are lacking in intelligent reasoning and too emotional. Nigeria politics of over 40years does not support the construct ''Marginalization of the Igbos''. There are tons of evidence that the Igbos have always been in the corridor of power and this cannot be said of other tribes. In the current democracy since 1999, Igbos have continued to occupy very important position starting from OBJ who brought many Igbos to sensitive positions in his govt to GEJ when Igbos almost control everything but the commander-in-chief. Many Nigerians believe that Igbos have had their fair share in the entity called Nigeria and if there is marginalization as they want Nigerians to believe then they are marginalized by their own sons and daughters who have continued to fill their pockets instead of advocating for infrastructural development of their region. Igbos need to look inward and begin to make their politicians accountable and stop this blame trading. It is not logical and insult to common sense to continue to believe the tale by the moonlight told by your parents that the Yorubas that have been in opposition for the better part of Nigeria life span as a nation are the ones holding down the development in the Igbo region. 11 Likes |

right2: i understand your points brother, i'm not saying our leaders are not part of our problem, all im saying is the systematic marginalization should stop. Igbos are known to be traders, they are known to be importers, why don't you give them a seaport, airport and also good federal roads, our progress is not just for us, it is for all of nigeria, imagine innoson building another assembly plant in ogun state, also build an upholstery factory in kaduna for leather, do you know the massive employment gain. We need to acknowledge the fact that there is a grudge problem, forgiveness cannot come if we continue this way. Develop on the strength of each ethnic group, that's what most western nations do. tuale4u:Stop being smart by half, you created a propaganda thread to rubbish Igbo cry of marginalization but in a twist of irony, you have been provided with facts & figures of Igbo subjugation by D Nigerian state. 1. Igbos were giving 20 pounds each by D FG irrespective of whatever millions they had in banks prior to D war & immediately after, Awolowo sold off all company assets to other Nigerians. 2. Nothing was done infrastructure wise to rehabilitate D east. 3. Igbo properties were seized in D name of abandoned properties. 4. Quota system was introduced whereby to enter unity school any Igbo from say Imo or Anambra must score above 200 but one from say Borno or Kebbi can score just 5 in D same exam & still be admitted. 5. There is no single FG establishment in d East. 6. Other regions have 6&7 states except SE!! ETC 1 Like |

Let them be. Its very simple . live and let live, everyone should stop trying to prove something. All this argument, opinions, threads and counterthreads everyday about same issue has gone overboard and its sickening. For God sakes this people are not objects. You leave them alone and let them claim what they want that's my whole point. I don't care if they are ibo's or not cos to me all of una na d same thing but please stop objectifying this people. TonyeBarcanista: We are definitely working on that, we need to solidify our alliance and re instate the old eastern region, not geographically but in terms of accessibility and also economic ties. Having a seaport in SS will do the old eastern region good. There are so many opportunities abound in the SS and SE only if we can come together, like I said, we are already aware of these possibilities, and if we make use of them very well, it is going to impact the whole region and nigeria as well. Thanks brother for your mature responses, I wish mullatoclaro can learn from you, but I believe with time he will change. Ciao brother 2 Likes 1 Share |

willow0801: Thank you very much for those intelligent points. As you can see we all need one another in this country. All the hate speech need to stop. Igbos are very smart in business. They need to leverage on this with equally smart politicking to woo FG infrastructure to the East. Onitcha alone can be a business hub if the Igbos and Eastern governors are ready to make it happen. The East need to invest massively in infrastructure, on roads ,parks and new markets. These would automatically draw investors and individuals of other tribes would like to come and work and live. Hate speech from igbos about other tribe would scare serious investors away. I have to congratulate an average Lagosian for voting persons of other ethnic group to position. The secret of development in any city and nation of the world is politics of inclusion. Lagos will continue to be prime choice of destination for business and living for many Nigerians if they know they can always live their dreams without restriction or discrimination. This great development is already being seen by some individuals as an ethnic supremacy battle and creating unnecessary problem to law abiding Igbos in Lagos. Igbos must open up to all tribes and people and be very friendly and stop seen other tribes as their enemies. Uyo and Calabar are two cities that are been strategically positioned in that axis by their own people in next 10years to bring development and grow and improved living standard. What are the Igbos doing about their own cities. Thank you my brother and God's blessings. Happy new year to you and yours. 4 Likes |

willow0801:In Nigeria today, virtually every group has one complaint or the other. If you look closely, complains of these groups are legitimate. From Yoruba, Igbo, Fulani, Hausa, Tiv, Berom, Isan, Bini, Idoma etc. One problem we however have is that we channel our problems most timees to the wrong channel and misdirect our agitation. Political and economic alliance among groups will usher development for our country. One problem is that when we talk unity, some people will smuggle in secession project and impose same on the others. What mulattoclaro is saying is that "we are ready to work together for the good of all but the idea of Biafra is out of our agenda. Count us out". You see where the problem is? 5 Likes |

Question for civil war experts. The 20 pounds policy after the war. Was this only exclusive to igbos? How come I don't hear of any Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw etc person (they all fought in the war) complaining about marginalization and specifically citing the renumeration as a reason? Why is it an igbo only affair? 6 Likes 2 Shares |

right2: I agree whole heartedly with you, ill be happy to tell you that igboland is open to all and sundry, I think it is just the hate words that scares people away, igbos are known to be very emotional, very very but forgiveness will delete every grudge from our heart.. owerri, my state capital is very welcoming, ask any yoruba or hausa guy that has visited there , enugu is also accommodating. one thing I love fayose for is he acknowledged that igbos are blessed in terms of wealth creation, little wonder, he sent his people there to learn, if state governments can follow fayose's trail, haba! Nigeria will be taken out of poverty in no quick time, we must look inward to solve our problems. How I wish we were united in the south like the north , imagine the possibilities! Can you imagine we make use of place of origin instead of place of residence, if we are nigerians then we must act like a united country. I could be a yoruba guy but my state is imo state, if we can have that, this country will progress faster than ever. My believe is that an igbo presidency will change this, with an igboman as president, it will correct every problem we have in terms of unity. I love nigeria and all she stands for but like I said, the civil war is an injury that refused to heal and only an igbo presidency will heal it. Hope u agree with all I have said 1 Like |

kayfra: Brother, I mentioned the igbos and her brothers, I also mentioned the old eastern region, so dont think its an igbo affair, I think the reason why igbos are always mentioned is because they were affected greatly, even more than any ethnic group in the old eastern region. It is on record that before the war, igbos were known to be very wealthy. |
Re: Igbo Marginalisation is a Big lie and just a Propaganda. by Nobody: 6:48pm On Dec 31, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: I understand but sometimes we have to accept that there is truly a problem, the call for biafra is not out of hate for other ethnic group but out of systematic marginalisation and it will be unfair for the igbos to struggle for biafra without the ijaws , ibibios, ogojas, efiks and other ethnic group in the old eastern region, one thing I know for sure is that it is not about oil but development. If this country can remove ethnic sentiments, quota system , and the unitary system most importantly, watch as the igbos embrace nigeria with both hands. |
