There are factors that should be considered when buying a car.. These factors include:

• Cost of maintenance..

• Fuel economy/consumption rate..

• Availability of car parts..

• Durability..

• Road networking, etc..

Anything TOYOTA is super, and at such, I would advice you go for the Toyota Highlander as it possess the above mentioned..

I would advice you purchase a highlander...reasons below;
1. Expirience, since u currently use a totoya product..you are likely to be used to that brand
2. Value, toyota will give you a better second hand value than Hyundai any day
3. Cost of acquisition... considering that Hyundai is not readily available as tokunbo it is likely to be overpriced at brand new with no second hand value..highlander will be cheaper to buy in this regard.
4. Durability..toyota is definately more durable
5. Prestige. A mint Highlander kills the show any day

Back to your question, I would advice you buy any model of toyota because it lasts longer & fuel efficient. The Forerunner I talked about earlier is in a perfect condition and has never given me a major issue, just normal servicing.

I am looking to change my Toyota Corolla 2000 model for an SUV. I am lost in between the Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota Highlander. I would like good reviews about both cars and if you use any of them, Kindly give the Pros and cons. The Hyundai Santa Fe comes to mind too.

Enjoying the corolla, but I want to change it because I have a bigger family and the interior is bland.

Since the year of the hyundai tucson is these old model, i wouldn't compare both.
Firstly, the highlander isn't in the same level of comparison with the tucson....a Santa-Fe would have been a better comparison, and even that doesn't math the excellence of the highlander of that 2003-2007 generation.

The highlander is a better family SUV and tries to give a good fuel econom/output.
IT'S PARTS ARE ALSO VERY MUCH AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET.
It also is far more durable than the hyundai of those years/generation.

if you're going for the highlander make sure you go for the late 2004/early 205 models upwards as that is where they corrected a few errors they made with the 2001-2003 models and good additional features.

Just go for the highlander fast!, I have been using the 03 model for 2 years now and am not thinking of changing it because it gives me peace of mind. I did not even buy a tokunbo!.
I bot for 1.4m 2years ago and I can still sell for 1.2m today if I decide to sell it off.

No Hyundai will meet the above conditions.

The interior of the Highlander is equally bland. However, I will still choose it over the other option.

Please don't hesitate to buy Toyota Highlander, Hyundai Tucson is good but highlander is far better and affordable to maintain, low fuel consumption, better balancing, ball joints, bearing, stabilizer leakages, shocks, shafts are better to that of Tucson.
