Let's be careful about giving wrong info. You can also get the loan for livestock farming and not just Agro allied business. Am a beneficiary of the loan for livestock farming. Truth be told, the loan is not easy to get. Also I am based in a abuja and I use a collateral outside abuja to secure the loan

Please can a piece of land be a collateral for me

See people hoarding information as if the disbursed fund belongs to them. If you share info how you got yours will that make the bank withdraw the loan they gave you?

For those interested, approach first bank in your area. They are more receptive and have agric desk, also make sure you have a collateral or a guarantor in place. Diamond bank accepts guarantor in place of a collateral.
skyee bank accepts collateral

Hope this helps

It amaze me how some people hoard public information as if it make their lives better.

For small scale businesses and start up it is 500,000 and repayment is within a year at 9% interest rate max

For medium scale businesses maximum loan is 50 million with a 3 years repayment plan.

Collateral does not necessarily mean landed properties. It could be equipment( farm equipment) or machinery

Lesgupnigeria:

The way to go about it is to register with a recognised association or as farmer, then visit BOA to apply for loan
Only 20% equity will be deposited in the bank

I was in (BOI) on monday, the info I got was that the Minimum credit facility they can give is 5 milliion, hence I was referred to another Bank, main street Bank, which they said BOI has affiliation with, but when I got there the story is the same...
For #500,0000 you pay back in six month, u will pay a grand total of #620,000.
So u present a post dated cheque of #104,000 for that six month.
The problem is this in production how do u get to refund this bill in six month, how! How!! How!!!?

That loan is not easy to get. The agriculture part is for agroallied business and not for livestock farming.

To access the funds in Abuja, you must have a collateral in juicy areas of Abuja. I was previledged to do a presentation on the funds last month in a commercial bank, one of the requirement is a good collateral which the bank will sell to recover the funds in case the farmer default

I wish they can simplify the loan cos of small scale farmers.

if the bolded is true then you know that nigeria is wicked. how can a needy farmer in shaganmu afford such a collateral? in the end the billions will end up benefiting only the rich.

This funds has been there for over 5 years. I'm an ex-banker with experience in disbursing these loans.
It's accessible in very few banks from the knowledge I have. So don't go and waste your time in any bank that has no history of disbursing such facility.
Requirements:
1. A thorough business plan with 6 months as your break even period.
2. Ensure you have your 3 years tax report
3. Get a collateral - This could vary from Land with C of O to cash equivalent as fixed deposit & if you already have stock, then you can allow for valuation of your stock and you will be qualified for at most 75% of the value of the collateral but must be within the single obligor's approval limit.
4. Your bank statement of account showing history of transactions within the last one year.
5. You also need your books of account in case you don't have a bank statement. Though some banks may ask for both.
6. You need to have the business site on ground for inspection to enable the account officer dealing with you to snap and send to credit RIsk MAnagement for appraisal
7. You also need to have a corporate account or probably join a group of cooperative to access it as a group.
Finally, your business plan must be able to address your target market; expected turnover monthly; marketing plan; sales technique n delivery process while bearing in mind your pricing that will bring you to a break even; the market consumption gap you want to fill.
I hope this serves.
