Are Your Flaw(s) Obvious? by iceberylin(m): 7:31pm On Jan 12, 2016 |
I had a conversation with a female friend. She talked about her marriage. "I thought I was getting married to a perfect man because I loved everything about him. We never slept together during courtship, thinking it's normal cause he's a pastor. Now my Problem is he snores me and my baby up at night, we end up sleeping on the couch. It's really affecting my marriage cause I hate this flaw so much." She claimed. Hidden flaws will always find their way out, so try to let your partner know all about you before walking down any isle. No matter how bad you think ya flaw is there are people who can put up with it.. Even the least flaw can't be tolerated by same people. Be 100% and hope you find the right one. Mine is very obvious ..... Even from 6km away.. But I believe strongly that when someone trully loves us, they tend to overlook our flaws & When we love someone too, we also over look their flaws too. In a case where someone find it hard to over look our flaws, then the love they may claim to have for us coudn't really be real & unconditional love after all. My candid opinion though. |

mehn I hate that snoring habit a lot But I wonder what my flaw will be cos there are actually some things we do that we see nothing bad in it until we meet some people. I think mine will be my anger issues. |

sickstars: You call snoring "ordinary". To me its a humongous flaw. I can never marry a woman who snores even if she's Agbani Darego. I'm a very light sleeper, common closing and opening door distracts my sleep talk less of snoring. 1 Like |

Op, Before I get into the etiquette of poking and prodding your friend snorer of a husband, I want to make sure you know that while snoring is generally considered a minor “social” problem (though a major marital one), it can also be a serious health issue. It’s correlated with a heightened risk of both heart attack (snorers have a 34 percent greater chance of having one) and stroke (67 percent). Other problems include sleep apnea, drowsiness, irritability, lack of focus and decreased libido. In short, it’s important for her husband to determine why he’s snoring so much and the most helpful thing she can do is push him into making an appointment with a specialist for a sleep study. And here’s my advice for anyone sharing a bed with a snorer: 1. Remember that snoring is a medical condition, not a personal failing. Don’t exacerbate your sleeplessness with an outburst of anger. 2.If “occasional” snoring has become nightly, consider together whether there have been any changes in a partner’s health or behavior that could contribute to the increase. Regardless, be gentle with your spouse and discuss this in a non-confrontational manner—and not when you both are trying to get some zzzs. 3.Wear earplugs. 4.If the snoring continues to bother you, consider sleeping separately. I would only add this: Occasional prodding and poking are fine, but if you’re counting on a long and happy marriage, beware the resentment and shoving. Get to the heart of the matter as quickly as you can. 1 Like |
