Thanks ma'am @ Nif and Ozycy. Actually I've already booked flight to Dallas, and told the VO that I don't have relative in the US. Pls How do I go about this? cry

Mid last year, a family friend got her visa for birthing purpose with MIHS appointment letter.

She thereafter got another appointment with doctores para ti and made part payment. We asked why she changed her mind and she said arizona was too far as advised by her neighbour.

On arrival@ Chicago POE, she was asked why she changed her flight to elpaso having told the VO that she was Arizona bound.

She was termed to be fraudulent, her visa and accompanying daughter's was cancelled with prejudice and even the husband's own who did not accompany on the trip was cancelled.

She was harassed, bullied and put on the next flight back to Nigeria while her passport was given to nigerian immigration at airport.

Let's be mindful of porting to ensure we do not end up been deported.

Happy New year my wonderful people. I have been a silent follower and all the information i got here helped me through my poe which was smooth at Washington airport. Actually staying here to deliver having considered overall expenses here and in Houston which I had planned to port to. Dr's fee here is reasonable $2050 including VD, all lab test n Routin OB care. Hospital estimate is about + or -$4k. (Praying all things work together for my good.)
Pls does anyone know if it's only embassy notary that is acceptable within maryland and DC or others too.
Also a contact of any notarian in Port Harcourt will help.

It's not the story dat was the issue, it's d Chicago POE dat was the problem. As a human being, can't one change his or her mind again? Na wa for them o! Imagine striping her of every shred of what's left of her wounded dignity and sending her back...

I have a friend who's about embarking on their first journey very soon and this information is timely. Pls I just want to confirm, can the baby's ticket be bought even before delivery? Thanks.

I need some information from the house, but first I would like to share my experience thus far.

I joined this forum in 2013, went through El paso' route for my first. Good experience! Since then I have been on a passive mode, not for anything but because I couldn't log into my former account, probably due to inactivity(don't know).

Anyway fast forward to 2015, another delivery journey- so I took to reading again and found out about Oakbend, Dr E et al (after discovering Dr Martell had refused to take us).

Flew Airfrance at 35wks5days. Had a smooth entry at Houston POE, came with hubby and my 21months old daughter ( it was actually a breeze), came with foodstuffs (thankfully nothing was seized).

Gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy through a scheduled Csection at 39weeks with Dr E.

Presently at the documentation lap.

Now to my question, I called Air France to include my baby to my ticket. And I was told I already had an infant attached to my ticket , and that I had two options(which are rather on the high side)

(1) To convert my daughter' ticket(which was attached to my ticket from Lagos, being an infant) to child fare($705) and attach my boy to mine ($150.65) or

(2) Leave my daughter's as it is, and purchase a child fare for my boy ($1,465.06)

PS 1: DH has travelled back to Naija
PS 2: DH went to their Lagos office to do the purchase, and he was told there that our best bet is to handle it from US, as they don't add two infants to a mother's ticket, hence my call to US Airfrance.

Someone with similar experience? Pls help as I have limited time to settle this.

#apologiesforthelength#

Thank you in advance.

Congrats dear.... thank God for your lo,... I think we met at Dr E's office.... i was d lady with hubby and my Lo, we discussed a lil abt ur accomodation issue n stuff....

Flying with 2 infants, now that will be really stressful.... most airlines hardly fly an adult with 2 infants but I would recommend you call there US office again and ask for a reduction of price but if dey refuse jejely pay or hubby can come n assist you back home cos the price they are calling can get him a cheap ticket too....my 2 cent

Please my good Samaritian can you email me on cassyluv2002@gmail.com . I would greatly appreciate.

I still have about 4months to go.My husband does not have a visa yet but he intends applying next month to come over after the birthing. The blue paper i was given was mainly about ties etc. VO didn't even ask questions about hubby.
bigfido:

So sorry about the refusal. Maybe it has to do with Dr. F correspondence. How far have you gone? I think you should reapply immediately thou. Go through your budget sheet and be sure there was no over budgeting or over budgeting. How far gone are you? What of your husband? Does he have a visa? If he doesn't, maybe he can apply with you as well. Talk to ladyguinivere

Hello Awesome people,

I have been a silent reader for a while and I must confess that I have gained a lot from this forum.

I started reading this thread around July last year and I eventually made up my mind to use Oakbend hospital. I have made a deposit to the hospital and I have correspondences with the doctor (Doctor Dama). I am due to travel first week in February.

I have also learnt a lot about POE and with God by my side, I think I am well prepared. I intend to travel via Delta Airline, I have not bought my ticket because I am still trying to wait for their promo grin

I just got an accommodation and would like to know if there's anyone interested in sharing a room with me. Just holla if you are interested.

I would really like to hook up with Feb/March mums-to-be so that i can have a less boring stay in Houston.

Regards

@LadyGuinivere-Don't know just as you've said it might have something to do with Dr F's correspondence cos the guy types and types upon receiving it.
I will re-apply in a weeks time after i get another's dr's correspondence and maybe change in location.
My total budget was almost 13k using the standard exchange rate of 199.7.I earn very well as i work with a telecomms coy
.i will share the budget sheet later today as i do not have a copy with me now

LadyGuinivere:

She de fear to talk o!
The truth is, I agree with you. Not because I know DR F or have any issue with him but because , the same way letter/notification of intent has been overflogged, in my opinion I believe we have so used the man, that vo's are developing some bias for the man. If we can remember , some mommas at poe posted about how the cbp muttered About 'the popular Dr. F'
They say apply when circustances change, maybe try what Dammy said, leave your daughter and then change hospitals.
Mamdele How much did u budget? How much do u earn? How much is at your disposal to spend?
Because the vo sighted the budget sheet, please can u post it here mae the house use binoculars peruse am

I was very calm ooooo. After all this while of preparing. I was even over calm sef cos the guy was good-looking and soft to behold. Only that he wasn't looking up,he just kept staring at his system.like he was playing a game.he was distracted kind of. Well i handed everything over as soon as he mentioned it o.
i'm just thinking could it be i under budgeted, even if i did the statement of accts i had on me had way more than i budgetted so don't know.

Maybe i do another budget with more than the actuals, change hospital etc

sry , just wannna clarify something, searched a bit, didn't see it.

someone having a valid 2yr usa visa [tourist], and falls preganant within the 2yrs and wants to hv her baby in the usa.
I think going to have the baby in the usa with the visa is a lil on the gray side, but what could the person do?

note: the person is willing to pay all her bills
2. the person is open to switching her visa to medical tourism visa, if its possible/easy
3. if all fails she is willing to go to travel 5months into the pregnancy, .....how old can a newborn be allowed to fly?

Some shops/stores like macys do tax refund for foreigners, but i think you get back only 50%. U need to have your passport and your return ticket. The catch there is you need to be returning to your country within 2weeks, on your ticket if you still have more than 2weeks to your return date, no tax refund. If your gonna buy much, you can wait until about 13 days to your return date before buying.thats the last i know of tax refund as of last yr.
