I'm delighted to read these wealth of experiences shared here.

PLEASE URGENT ADVICE IS NEEDED!!!

I'm new in broiler farming, though an experienced friend advises me. I have 385 surviving broilers (out of 403 stock of 1 day old chicks) which are 4 weeks old, today. I administered Lasota on my broilers yesterday morning. But this morning two have died and two are very weak. I also discovered that some of them are infected with coccidiosis (and are discharging blood in their faeces), some showing symptoms of cough (discharge of green faeces), some white watery faeces while others a combination of two cases.

In view of this complicated case of infections, can I administer about three different antibiotics at the SAME TIME against the three major infections suspected?

Thanks.

Go get Vitacox wsp plus for them. or Centre Dicox for anticoci just for 2days and used CRD.

Hello friends and colleagues. How are your birds doing? Pls ensure strict bio- security measures this season. You are equally advised to spray ur pen and environs regularly. V.ox, Virucid, polidine shd be added to the drinking waters regularly. no farmer here will suffer any loss this yr. it shall be a most productive yr for all. cheers.

@ 13th month. The law of diminishing return steps in. Mean while you may need to give multivitamins .
75% is not bad though.

Farmers I hail o

Pls I need more information about health hazards of poultry droppings.

Something about ammonia compounds and lungs infections,

Occasional sharp pains around the chest cavity during breathing, pains at the back, around the spinal cord.

Am sure most guys here that do the day to day cleaning of the poultry farm themselves must have been experiencing such or something similar.

Laying till DEC is not the issue here but laying productively, as soon as you are not making enough profit to cover ur expenses, you may let them go.for vitamins, Amino total or introvit A

my dear there are many farms with good doc. Farms like obj,CHI,zartech, marks are good. Sometimes people with bad management practice complain about farms not having good doc. All my birds are from CHI and the reault has been great but i want to try other farms later this year.
As for the color, brown are good producers they lay higher number of eggs but blacks have high resistance to disease.blacks also lay big eggs. Another thing to consider is loxation cos of wheather.Cheers.

hello good morning
good farmers in the house. My name is latifah.i am a graduate with Bachelor's degree in microbiology.I'v had interest in agriculture especially poultry farming since my childhood. Now as the economy of Nigeria is..being self employed(farming especially)is the only solution to unemployment problems.
To cut the long story short,I ventured into broiler production already.God so good, its been going on great. No mortality at all in my broiler production farm, except for d turkeys I am rearing as well.
Now the problem I have is that I started late October 30th to be precise coz of fear of bird flu(rumour I guess).so, I cudnt sell them off for Xmas and new year coz dey avnt really grown very big.
Now, my fear is..I changed my mind to raise them till Easter which is going to be almost 5months of their production.
What do you advice me to do because..I am going to have overweighed cost of production.and im sure its not economical enough to sell them for #3500.Im scared.im finking of getting help on processing into frozen chicken by ending of jan when they will be exactly 3months.
Please I need your advice on what to do and how to go about it. Thanks in advance.im new here, and it feels good to be part of ds great forum.
..
If u can process to frozen chicken, fine.

It depends on u.last year,u was introduced to agrited loheman breed. I have been hooked ever since. Theres is very delicate n requires detail attn. If one dedicate time u can achieve success of 85 percent n above. There eggs r much bigger than wat i have seen in my area. Soo everyone preference is different. Just knw brooding is d most difficult n time consuming thing

Hot weather is not conducive for the birds hence they are stressed up. that's why it's better to administer ur vaccine early in the morning or late evening.

Hello House. This house has been educating. I read the topic daily via my fone to keep abreast with the happenings in the biz. I need some clarification
1) How often should one give laying pullets vitamins
2) The pullets are in their 3rd month of Lay.
3) The Pullets are 1790 in number but giving 43 crates daily.

any good veterinary store. if you can't get polidine, go for V. Ox, Virucidal or any other product available in ur area that can be used to disinfect, fumigate ur pen IN PRESENCE of the birds.
