Don't you have a course adviser, go and see your course adviser, what of your class governor? Both of you should see your course adviser and HOD, maybe also write a letter of apology to sooth the lecturer's ego. Shalom.

You suppose to apologize for your action. When he sent you out maybe you arrogantly carry your things and acted as if the lecture is not important. In Nigeria we value elders and any repeatable youths will always be favoured. You have to go back to his office and beg him.

I will do same if you put up i don care attitude. It takes a lot out of the lecturer to teach.

Go plead with him. After that stay clear of his path.

Now I look back in retrospect and what I regret is not suing some of this lecturers for being stupid! I remember when one of my co students was arrested by the security men for burning down the admin block, he sued them and not only did they free him later on, they also gave him a transcript to another school.

Meet him later and apologize.

If he refuse, explain it to another lecturer he/she will help you and beg him.

How come nobody is saying anything to help this young man? The uncultured teacher was wrong to have been receiving call during lectures & then punishing this guy without hearing him out.
I think u should go & meet him & explain ur rwason for standing up but don't think he'll listen to u right away . He must do the Nigerian thing ie throwing his power around so u can feel it. Massage his ego by bringing fellow teacher to help u out. U need u r education to move ahead in life so don't let one ego drunk teacher stunt ugrowth. Good luck.

Don't beg him. Just relax, he may eventually forget or misplace your details.you may be reminding him by begging. I'v hada series of such experience and nothing came out of them

It takes a focus mind to learn. Africans follow respect values. Tendering a good apology with humor is the answer for such situation. Putting on i dont care attitude increase the level of punishment the lecturer would have given.

This is not primary school, why did you have to stand up to collect the biro you already gave to your friend, it's not like the lecturer can send you out for not writing, you should have just followed the lecture by heart and complete your note afterwards, i know it's your biro, but once you retrieve it, your friend would be left with nothing to write with also, he didn't use force to collect it from you after all. That's a great lesson for you that sometimes you put others first,especially your friends. Go and prostrate yourself and apologise to the the lecturer, I know his type, he just needs someone to stroke his ego for him.
