He said he is an SANDF officer and a DENEL shareholder, you disagree because you know him more than he knows himself, so it's up to you to prove him wrong and show us proof that he works in a bank as you claim....you make the claims against him, you need to prove him wrong or you remain silent for ever with no proof. Anyone can claim to be anything on the internet.

If you want to assert his credentials you need to prove them.

Until then his post is nothing more than a comment on an open comment section. I have more followers than him on Disquss... does that make my comments more factual?

The Augustine on Beegugugs blog said he is a military researcher... he also said SAN could sink the Nigerian Navy with one sub... so that is fact to?

Go sit in the corner and think about what you have just done you blithering 1diot

Denel has subsidiaries some of which are privately owned companies that have private individual shareholders, Matthys Jacons can own shares in those smaller companies that Denel acquired controlling shares in, and the joint business venture makes him an indirect shareholder in Denel, that is world standard company law of direct and indirect equity and the global law of minority interest shareholdings, which is the principle of commercial law, logic and law that a South African brain cannot understand.

Agaugau nobody can claim to have shares in denel. Denel is 100% owned by the state and if it decides to acquire majority shares of a certain company named AGAUGUST. that will mean the state will control 51% of the company AGAUGUST and private people will own 49% and none of those people can ever claim to have shares in Denel. The will have shares in AGAUGUST company and not denel. You claim to have studied business but you are just mogo. That venture will best be described as PPP, public-private partnership. Nobody has shares on denel. Denel can be on a joont venture with private people or companies, locally and abroad but that will not meab that those people or companies have shares on DENEL. That guy is telling lies.

PROFILE OF THE NIGERIAN DEFENCE INDUSTRY

The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria was established by an Act of Parliament in 1964. Consequently a West German manufacturing firm Fritz Werner was assigned the task of providing technical expertise and setting up the ordnance Factory in Kaduna.

Defence Industries Corporation (DICON) was primarily established to produce small Arms and Ammunition for the use of the Nigerian Army and other Security agencies. The Corporation also uses its excess capacity to produce machinery spare parts for industries and other products for civilian use.

ACHIEVEMENTS
DICON has achieved an unprecedented feat in the engineering field. The achievements can be traced to 2004 when DICON successfully produced prototype medium range weapons namely 60mm mortar, 81mm mortar and the RPG-7. The weapons were successfully test fired at the Kachia range with the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in attendance.

The Corporation has produced locally an assault rifle similar to AK 47, and is awaiting a new production line for the rifle.

Apart from the aforementioned ongoing activities at DICON, the Corporation has also enhanced its production capabilities in other areas such as local production of ceremonial swords which hitherto were imported. It should be mentioned that the military ceremonial swords used at the NDA passing out parade on 28th September 2007 were all produced in DICON.

The Corporation has also successfully completed the production of Army Field Kitchen. The project was undertaken using 100% local content. The Nigerian Army placed an order for the manufacture 10 field kitchens following an inspection visit by a team led by the Chief of Defence, Research and Development. In essence, DICON now possesses the capacity to sustain production with little or no external inputs.

CURRENT EFFORT

DICON has successfully established a new production line for the manufacture of 7.62mm x 39 ammunition which is the preferred ammunition by the Security Services. This informed the Corporation’s current effort to develop and mass produce a Nigerian version of AK47, which uses the same 7.62mm x 39mm ammo.

Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria. The British never forgave Ojukwu for the effrontery to attempt to remove Nigeria from her sphere of influence and he paid for it during the civil war. So if Nigeria must have her arms industry, President Buhari and his planners should take a long-term view of these considerations:

It’s the most advanced defense industry you’ve probably never heard of. South Africa’s arms manufacturers produce high-tech weapons and vehicles that have little to do with crude Soviet-era weaponry common throughout the rest of the continent.

Formed under the Apartheid regime, South Africa’s arms industry produces some of the best mine-resistant vehicles, modern guided weapons, secure communication technologies, aerospace components and its own attack helicopters.

“The South African defense industry was almost a direct and deliberate creation by the Apartheid government, to create an almost self-sufficient yet technically sophisticated defense industry,” explains John Stupart, editor of the online African Defense Review

The South African National Defence Force has 900 vehicles in storage at its facility at Wallmansthal, with the vast majority serviceable and ready to go within 24 hours notice. Thousands of other unserviceable vehicles are in open storage.

This emerged during a visit by Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula in December 2015, who was inspecting the progress of 100 Cuban personnel in maintaining and storing South African military vehicles and providing training to South African technicians as part of Operation Thusano.

At Wallmansthal there are ten humidity controlled preservation hangars that can store 100-130 vehicles each. 900 vehicles are currently in preservation storage.

Of the vehicles in preservation at Wallmansthal, this includes around 200 Samil trucks, over 150 Ratel armoured vehicles, 100 Casspirs, 100 Mambas, two dozen GV6s, 20 Zebras, 20 Skimmels, a dozen Cavallos and 30 Rooikat 1Bs, which are unserviceable and are to be upgraded to 1D standard.

The preservation process involves inspecting the vehicle, confirming the engine works, washing and cleaning filters, checking the electrical system, repairing minor faults, confirming fuel and oil levels, parking the vehicles, putting them on trestles and painting the tyres. The vehicles can be stored for five years and gotten running again in 24 hours.

PROFILE OF AUGUSTUS

Envy or malicious nature demonstrates a 'negative emotion' as a result of discontent and ill-will over another's advantages. It is a feeling of grudging admiration and desire to have something possessed by another. Envy is when you do not measure up to someone else or you very much want something someone else has . Envy demonstrates spite and resentment at seeing the success of another. Envy focuses on what others have which we do not have.

Envy or malicious nature can make one feel the pain of deprivation even when one is not actually deprived of. This results in a vicious circle of envy and unhappiness, since your unhappiness causes you to further envy those who are happy. Envy focuses on what we not have and how we may have failed. Our energy gets wasted in making comparisons between oneself and others, comparisons that result in feelings of inferiority. This leads to us to envy others and their achievements, and builds barriers between you and them. Envy can distort our perspectives in life and distract us from our routines and responsibilities. Envy immobilizes us from doing things that are necessary and important. Our energy is instead channeled towards undermining those we envy.

Causes Of Envy : Reasons behind Envious, spiteful, malicious nature
We often feel envious or malicious because of our own conflicts with self-esteem or with self-limitations. There is a lack of self-worth and often a feeling of inferiority. Envy falsely assumes that self-worth can be attained through possessions or achievements. When these belong to someone else, the envious person feels a loss of self-worth and wishes that the other person would lose these things so that his own self-worth can be restored. Below are some situations, which may trigger our envy.

Development of the A-Darter started in 1995,[8] however it suffered from inadequate funding and changes to the SAAF’s requirements.[9] Mectron, Avibras and Atech joined the program in 2006 after a three-year negotiation process[8] with US$52 million invested by the Brazilian Government in the project, estimated to be worth US$130 million.[10] In that same year, Denel announced that it would use the latest solid-state inertial measurement unit, the SiIMU02 from BAE Systems, for mid course range guidance.[11] The Brazilian company Opto Eletrônica has partnered with Denel Dynamics in the development of the missile imaging infrared seeker for thermal guidance.[4]

Ground seeker tests were concluded in January 2010,[12] while trajectory guidance and agility flight tests were performed in February 2010.[13] Prototypes were sent to Saab AB in order to begin the integration of the missile to the Saab JAS 39 Gripen. Captive flight trials were concluded in March 2010.[12][13] The first successful in-flight launch from a Gripen fighter took place on 17 June 2010.[14]

In March 2012, Denel Dynamics disclosed that the missile, which was to be ready for production by end of 2013, entered the qualification phase. Several testing firings at Denel’s Overberg Test Range were carried out from a Gripen in January 2012. Final testing included the use of high-speed target drones to simulate an aircraft by towing infrared targets at high speed.[14]

In December 2012, the Brazilian air force commissioned Denel to build a factory in São José dos Campos, close to Mectron, Avibras and Opto Eletrônica.[15]

In February 2015, Denel Dynamics signed an agreement with Marotta Controls for supply of the latter's MPACT pure air compression technology to cool the A-Darter's infrared

The MUltiPurpose StandOff Weapon (MUPSOW) is a South African air-launched cruise missile. Some believe that the weapon may have evolved from the Raptor series of glide bombs. 1 The development program was first reported in 1993, and a follow-on design was announced in 1995. In 1999, another new design called the Torgos was reported. It was designed as a smaller and lighter version to be carried on JAS-39 Gripen, Mirage 2000 and F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. The status of this South African development program remains unknown.

The 1995 improved MUPSOW variant has a length of 4.92 m, a launch weight of 1,200 kg, and a range of 150 km. The angular frame is similar to the Taurus KEPD-150 cruise missile. The Torgos has a length of 4.86 m, a wing span of 1.98 m, and a launch weight of 980 kg. It is guided by INS/GPS with an imaging infrared seeker for the terminal phase. The Torgos carries a 500 kg warhead with the option of a high explosive (HE), HE fragmentation, or submunitions. The Torgos has a 300 km range.

SOUTH AFRICAN Umbani precision guided munition (PGM) bomb.

The Denel Dynamics Umbani precision guided munition (PGM) bomb kit optimised for the NATO Mk 82 gravity bomb has been test dropped from a South African Air Force's BAE Systems Hawk Mk120, making it the first indigenous guided weapon trialled from the lead-in fighter aircraft.

The Umbani (meaning “lightning”) has been long in coming. Initial flight tests were successfully conducted on the Denel Cheetah some years ago. “In the last year we've moved to a Aerosud-owned (Dassault) Mirage F1 test platform because of the non-availability of the Cheetah and the high cost of integration on the new Saab Gripen as test platform,” he told defenceWeb last year May. “The next series of tests will probably be on the Hawk, for us it is significant as it is another step towards the Hawk becoming a workhorse of the SAAF. We see a lot of opportunity to take our Umbani onto that product. … There are many potential export customers but all are looking to the SAAF to adopt it first.”

Wessels says their customer’s major requirement is in the PGM arena for bomb kits for the Mk 82 227kg (500lb) bombs. But Umbani can also be made to fit the 113kg (250lb) Mk 81 and 454kg (1000lb) Mk 83 bombs. “In two years' time this could be a bread and butter product,” says Wessels. “Our bomb-kit design is an optimal trade-off between performance and affordability plus ease of use. We have matured the technology sufficiently to offer Umbani in its basic configuration to the market at stand-off range up to 40km and with great accuracy.”

Umbani has been advertised as an all-weather, day and night system and is fitted with a GPS/INS (Global Positioning System – Inertial Navigation System) capability. According to Denel, the system was designed with ease of use in mind and has low maintenance and life-cycle costs.

"LMT Holdings is a privately-owned engineering and manufacturing company established in 1999. It adds to the Denel Group a capacity for mine-protected vehicles, hulls and cabs as well as product testing, simulations, maintenance and support of products."

LOL, same Matthys guy that ALL you Southies were praising here for speaking military facts against Augustine on Angolan Su-30 jets Vs SAAF Gripens, now you ALL call him a liar because he said A-Darter has 40% imported foreign manufactured components, he is now fake military analyst, a liar, and a bad South African grin grin

....the guy claims to be an SANDF officer who meets pilots of other African air forces in their homeland air force bases, yo need to prove he works in a bank, HSBC bank.

"I've actually visited both countries and I've seen their aircraft as well and met some of their pilots. They do have some capable pilots however they still make use of Ukrainian and Russia Pilots for various reasons.

In theory they are the only two sub Saharan African countries that have engaged in BVR aerial combat. However it's moot as to whether they continued their training after the war ended. Ethiopia perhaps but Eritrea much like Angola failed to work on the momentum it had."
