@IGBOPRINCE: Yorubas and Northerners have been in contact for much longer than can be said between igbos and the North. That Yorubas in the North outnumber their igbo counterparts in that part of the country shouldn't be in doubt. |

Tinubutoto:Guy, Ijaws hav only two (2) homogenous LGA in Delta State, namely Burutu nd Bomadi! Patani LGA is owned/shared by both Ijaw nd Urhobo (Odorubu nd Uduophori pipo/sub-clans). Even in Bomadi LGA, there is one or two Urhobo villages (belongin to Olomu clan/kingdom)! |

kaakulator4:The truth is that Yorubas in the North blend in and assimilate easily thanks in part to shared cultural and religious norms -- they wear kaftans as well as the Hausa hats (like they do at ilorin) wear turbans, speak the local dialects, etc, which often makes them indistinguishable from the native Northerners. This explains why some erroneously assume that the more ostentatious igbos with their red caps, apoches, etc, are more than Yorubas up there. |

ODVanguard:Let the TRUTH be told, Igbos are more visible in any state you go to in Nigeria. I am not defending Igbo, But they are the Largest ethnic group in Nigeria. Yorubas are not known for travelling outside their domain in mass like that, in reality you cannot compare the population of Igbo people in the North to that of Yorubas, unless if just want to be telling yourself lies, even in Lagos the population of Igbos is nearly equal to population of yorubas in Lagos. Stop telling that lie that yorubas blend easily and assimilate cultures, yorubas is yoruba, their look is different from hausas, one can easily identify them, yoruba are not travellers, Igbos and hausas are travellers, in a place that i am living in europe you will hardly come across a yoruba man, 10 out of 13 Nigerians you meet here is an Igbo man. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by Abagworo(m): 6:50pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
meforyou1:Thats a lie. Ogbiya and Yenagoa consist mostly of Edoid groups and Cross River groups. Igboid group stops at Ekpeye. |

IGBOPRINCE:I want you to provide this forum with verifiable data. Let me tell you guy, I don't come here to just talk and I don't like ethnocentrism, I take reasonable position on all issues. In the north, there are towns founded through trade between Hausa and Yoruba, one example is Funtua in katsina state. I can tell you that in the Northwest there are more Yoruba than igbo. Take for instance, igbo live largely in Kaduna South just like Yoruba but in addition. Yoruba live in Kawo as well despite of the distrust on religious matter. Yoruba are more in Plateau and Niger. So tell me where igbo is more in the north. I can't trade data with you, even the pre independent population data provided in a post were in some cases riddled in controversies. Adding kabba province and kwara make them more than igbo moreso the erroneous classification of some non-igbo minorities and separate connotation of colonial Lagos. |

bolanto24:Kalabari being Ijaw is recent strange movement in Rivers State but they are definitely closely related. However Andoni has nothing in common with Ijaw. Even Abua and Degema. They are small but distinct ethnic groups. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by ODVanguard: 6:59pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
Rayhut:lol. Guy, your "truth" is merely an opinion that isn't grounded in facts or empirical evidence. There is a Yoruba community head in every community in the North, including even your SE and SS. Personally I don't deal in assumptions but rather in facts. Official census data has settled it but you are free to believe otherwise of course. Or do your people not return to the SE during the census to help your numbers? If they don't and are undercounted as a result, whose fault is that? ? I repeat that your opinion has no basis in facts. |

| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:02pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
mandarin:Stop deceiving yourself, yorubas are not known travellers, Yoruba are not that much in the Northern part of Nigeria, apart from indigeneous people in the North, Igbos are next biggest ethnic group there. Yorubas are not traders and travellers, even lagos there back yard have almost equal number of Igbos |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:10pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
Only a daft will think there are more Yoruba's in the north than Igbo's. Nothing wey no go argue here. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:12pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
Rayhut:What's wrong with you people sef.You just sit in your backyard in Alaigbo and be typing rubbish.Yorubas don't travel just because they don't come to your land or because they don't travel to do trading.Tell us that place in the north where there are more Igbos.Do you think life ends in the market? Tell us that place in Europe or America where there are more Igbos Rubbish! |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:18pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
I've mentioned 4 major towns in the north where there are more Yorubas.Let any Igbo person here prove me wrong Last year we went for a seminar in Tudun pawa.Do you know how many Yorubas we met? |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:19pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
kaakulator4:say anything you want to say but its the peak of ignorance for you to say yorubas are more than igbos in the north. Please, I know you don't also believe that shit you typed up there. Name it, is it in kano, Kaduna, Jos or abuja? We have more igbos there than Yorubas. There's no need saying lies to suit your ego and desperation |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:21pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
kaakulator4:there are more igbos in the major cities of the north. The nature of my job takes me to at least one city in the north in a month. You barely see Yoruba's in kano, Kaduna, Jos, bauchi and sokoto. Before you see one Yoruba in abuja, you would have seen five igbos. |

| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:29pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
Why am I even wasting my time sef with people who say they own 90% of Lagos . Fulanimafia arewafederation should help us settle this.I don't want to argue anything again The reason why I've been going back and forth is because I don't have official figures |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:29pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
kaakulator4:I'm telling you the truth too, the population distribution of igbos in kano, jos and Kaduna can be compare with that of Lagos. Its not something we come to drag about, please stop lying. Sabon gari in kano has about 80% Igbo population, it has big houses like onitsha, its like an Igbo enclave. Igbos are the most distributed tribe in Nigeria, even your brothers in Lagos will agree to that term. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:31pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
kaakulator4:bros, nobody will settle anything for you, I'm currently in Jos. I cannot lie just to please myself like you do. It seems you have not been to the major northern cities before, if not you won't be saying this trash. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:35pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
ODVanguard:not because I said so, but because its the truth. I'm currently in the north. Are you foolish? Did the census board provide any data for tribe population distribution? Why are you this foolish? Another place you can tell me yorubas are much outside southwest is port Harcourt ( they are majorly the bus and taxi drivers along rumuokoro/rukpokwu/igwuruta/elele/choba/emohua axis) ask tonyebarcanista if you think I'm lying (if he will tell you the truth) or ask abagworo. Apart from PH and maybe abuja, yorubas are not really outside southwest. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by fulanimafia: 7:39pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
You southerners can be such a comic relief... ![]() Of what significance is this d1ck-measuring contest? My Yoruba brethren shouldn't be arguing with the universally renowned migrants that leech on the economy of anywhere that is not gully eroded. |
| Re: The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by lolzzzz: 7:43pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
fulanimafia:your third statement says it all. Any other thing you have said is inconsequential. Igbos are renowned emigrants and theres no way Yoruba population in the north will be more than the Igbo's. No way. Is just like saying Yoruba's have more population that the Hausa's in the the east? So pathetic |
