Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, on Sunday, said that the statement issued by the Presidency on President Muhammadu Buhari’s sudden vacation was vague, saying, “Nigerians deserve to know the truth about their President because the President is an open book that every Nigerians should be free to read.”

The governor, who said he was aware of the high-wire plot to use the Supreme Court to upturn his electoral victory, insisted that nothing will stop him from speaking the truth concerning issues in the country.

He said it was suspicious that a president, who told Nigerians that he was embarking on official visit to France and Britain, last Tuesday, would suddenly commence a five-day vacation while still in the United Kingdom.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor, who prayed for safe return of the President, said “Nigerians deserve to know where exactly their president is spending his vacation.”

He however commended the President for handing over to the Vice President as stipulated by the Constitution of the country.

He said; “We were told last Tuesday, that Mr President was travelling to France and from there to London to attend the Syria Donor Conference, and that he would return to Nigeria this weekend.

“All of a sudden, we were told that the President was embarking on a five-day vacation. Where and why? We were not told.

“Curiously, it was at this same period, last year that President Buhari, who was at that time the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, disappeared from public, with lies told about him granting interviews in London.

“It is therefore important that in future, the presidency should be more explicit in communicating with Nigerians on issues regarding the President because a nation’s president is an open book that can be read by anyone.”

Is it now a crime to see a doctor? Why is fayose behaving like a child. It's been over a year since he started this childish issue of sickness. I think he should drop it already. How many Nigerians stay a whole year without going for checkup.

Even if the president is going to see a doctor while he is on vacation, he is not superman neither is it a crime to do so.

Fayose should please shut up and continue exchanging words like a child with Aluko

Fayose only owes that explanation to the people of Ekiti but Buhari is to all Nigerians.

While I have nothing against his vacation or medical trip abroad, it only shows how bad our medical system is here in Nigeria.

Fayose get excess mind sha

The truth is simple. SR has already provided one side of story. One of the major reasons why the president traveled to the UK was for a medical checkup. Apparently, his doctors needed more time to take more tests and give him a clean bill of health. To not cause murmur and uproar for just staying back, the presidency was quick to tag it a vacation.

Why would they tell us the president is on vacation only after he has gotten to his vacation spot? With the myriad of problems in Nigeria, does it not make sense to tell us weeks beforehand. Even, in the US where presidents are used to having annual vacations, the populace know before hand. This is not change and since he says he is a man of integrity, he should be honest and upfront with Nigerians, not providing room of doubts and conspiracy theories.

Na so Yar'Adua own take start. I wish PMB well, a peaceful vacation, and more grease to his elbow when he resumes his duties.

-Lord

What is opposition?

To attack personalities? No!

So why is Fayose hell-bent on following this trend?

Oh! So that when Ekitigate process starts he can cry witch hunt?

Buhari went for medical check up according to saharareporters and Fayose deem it fit to politicize that?

For records, we know that;

Buhari is old

Buhari may fall sick

Buhari isn't an economist

Yet we voted him to power to fight corruption because at the call of BUHA.... corruption hides grin

They will not tell us cos they think that everybody is like the zombies that voted them. Seriously; these zombies are the problem we are having in this country cos they will always want to give justification for the wrong happenings in the country. They are not even ashamed or think about the future of our beloved country

Mr Fayose, i will advise you dat you padle your own canon cos your days are number.

Nothing is wrong for someone to take a casual leave from off duties for his personal use.

GMB is not a spirit but people like us who need rest anytime anywhere.

If GMB dies, all of you will claim dat u have said it earlier dat he doesn't have strength for the office.

Plis let him alone.
