I've noticed so many Nigerians find it easy to run in droves to witness Bonnke's crusade but whenever they hear a Nigerian Pastor performs a miracle, they open their mouths to utter degrading words about Africa, Nigeria, and anything that belittles the country. They even make some of us who believe in God to look stu.pid. Meanwhile, they will never call Reinhard Bonnke's miracle "staged." It is the same sets of people that will occupy his crusade ground to see the International German Evangelist. We attend because he's WHITE?

I really want to know why our people act the way they do. Can't we limit this slave mentality to trade? Must we showcase these attitudes on religious discourses?

If you do not believe, keep quiet and allow their followers hail their OWN. Africa is not the only continent where people serve God. The biggest Church in the world is in South Korea (not Nigeria). Korea is still a developed country with globally acceptable hardwares! They have the biggest church in the world few metres away from the country's National Assembly. Ours is in Mowe, Ogun state, several miles away from Abuja.

Winners Chapel or RCCG in Nigeria, as opposed to what some want us to believe, is not the reason for our poor infrastructure and poor leadership. We are backward because we are backward mentally.

This is a sound warning to intellectual handicaps who always attribute our economic, social and technological woes to Religion, Christianity in particular.

Let's stop this public display of SHAME, please!

It shouldn't surprise you because the bible already spoke of it.
A prophet is not without honour except in his own country.....

Again the bible also spoke about the Church. The greatest criticism in this earth will be against the Church till Christ comes. The Scriptures must be fulfilled and those who speak against the Church are fulfilling the Scriptures till their judgement comes.

The op is as ridiculous as the people he condemns

Black christians following the religion of their white slave masters.

Should we be clamoring for the biggest church in our country to be next to the federal government's headquarters?

Why not the biggest library? Or the biggest hospital.

You're right sir. I'm just worried about the way some attribute underdevelopment to religion. That's why I cited the case of South Korea.

South Koreans are also black Christians, right?

You that does not practise religion, what do you have and what have you achieved in life?

The case of South Korea is enough for you to understand the fact that being religious or believing in miracles does not stop development or owing the largest library as you suggested.

If you have the largest church, without a large infrastructural development, then that's stupid.

However believing that the presence of a church or miracle is the reason why you do not have a good road is the greatest form of stupidity the world has ever recorded.

Get wisdom, get commonsense.

The Author of this post is quite riddiculous. You at first state that because the public accepts bonke's "miracle" to be real; Chris's Okafors's own must be real also!! The fallacy in your argument is that you seem to base the reality of miracles on the public opinions of people; the gullible masses.

And I have no idea where South-Korea comes in here.

The only true miracles are well orchestrated lies. From the Virgin birth to the Resurrection, miracles are just exaggerated stories. It doesn't matter who claims to have performed them. Whether TB Culosis or Bonke.

A little about South Korea

Korea has Asia's highest median income, average wage and low taxes with singles earning more than any G7 nation. Leading East Asia in human development, it ranks top or near top in global measures of education, healthcare quality, ease of doing business , job security and government transparency .

It leads OECD nations in student skills with the highest share of young adults graduating in tertiary education and graduates in science and engineering .

Known for high quality brands like Samsung , the world's leading smartphone and TV maker, LG and Hyundai-Kia.

Korea was named the world's most innovative country in the Bloomberg Innovation Index ranking first in business R&grin intensity and patents filed per GDP.

A leader in next-generation technologies and infrastructure, it runs the world's most profitable manufacturing industry, dominating exports of computer memory microchips, LCD and OLED displays.

It has the world's fastest Internet speed , ranking first in ICT Development , e-Government, 4G LTE coverage, IoT devices online and Internet access from smart phones.

Look at the bold in your comment.

How many south koreans believe in God? Answer that question before you start talking nonsense.

The difference with South Korea and Nigeria is that religion does not come before proper governance and common sense. Again look at the bold in your comment- they have solid educational systems and infrastructure unlike Nigeria which doesn't have anything but prioritizes religion.

Ohhh......... That's why you mentioned S.Korea!

Well, I'll have you know that during the development of South Korea as a country, their traditional ethnic religion was seen as a stumbling block in their national development. The government actually took steps to eradicate the religion..........and succeeded.

The case of Africa and Religion is a sad form of parasitism. Africans will never be one as long as the religious barrier is still there. You can never trust your Hausa Brother because he is Muslim or give the Yoruba man money because you think he's fetish.

The fact is that, in Africa, if we are to develop, Africans have to be less religious (this doesn't mean agnosticism or atheism, just less strict observance of some laws) else we are just circling the same own path.

Highly religious according to who? South Korea is one of the most atheistic countries in the world.

That's a flagrant denial in the face of facts . Religiosity in South Korea is very preponderant

From a predilective research group : PewResearch :

2. In 1900, only 1% of the country’s population was Christian, but largely through the efforts of missionaries and churches, Christianity has grown rapidly in South Korea over the past century. In 2010, roughly three-in-ten South Koreans were Christian, including members of the world’s largest Pentecostal church, Yoido Full Gospel Church, in Seoul.

4. Only about 11% of South Koreans are Catholic, but a survey we conducted in March found that the population has a positive view of Pope Francis. More than eight-in-ten South Koreans (86%) said they have a favorable opinion of the pope, higher than the share of Americans (66%) who had a favorable view of him in February. (Among U.S. Catholics, 85% said they have a favorable view of the pontiff.)

[Stanford] :

In contrast, South Korea today is a multi-religious society. In addition to Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, and Shamanism, there can be found religions of all stripes and colors, thanks in no small part due to the increase in foreigners who now number at more than one million. Islam is one religion that has made a sizeable gain in Korea in the last half century. As of 2005, it operated nine mosques, four centers, and sixty temporary worship halls around the country. The actual number of Muslims is about 150,000 and growing, out of whom 35,000 are believed to be Korean converts to the faith. There are also countless new religions, some of which are foreign and others domestic. From Japan, Tenrikyo and Soka Gakkai have been most successful; a Taiwan-based neo-Buddhist order of Supreme Master Qinghai is gaining a foothold; native new religions such as Cheondogyo, Won Buddhism, and the Unification Church of Sun Myung Moon all command respectable followings.

Korean religions have been slowly becoming global in their expansion strategies and receiving worldwide attention for it. South Korean Christian missionaries are particularly active in proselytizing, found in locations as varied as Africa, the Middle East, and China. It is also no secret that Korean Christians have formed a large base in northeastern China, where they offer humanitarian aid to escaping North Korean refugees as part of their missionary work.

http://spice.fsi.stanford.edu/docs/religions_of_korea_yesterday_and_today

[Wikipedia]

(46.5%) of South Koreans have no religion; among those that follow a formal religion, there is a dominance of Buddhism, Protestantism, and Roman Catholicism. According to the census of the year 2005, 22.8% of the population identifies as Buddhist, 18.3% as Protestant and 10.9% as Roman Catholic, totaling a 29.2% Christian

They do not pray to any God before conducting anything, prayers and religious activities are banned in public places like schools and government establishment. You can not pray before conducting an official government meeting the way it is done in Nigeria. Religious instructions and prayers are banned in public schools, how then is religion preponderant? Can you provide an article that proves that the president is an atheist and most of their political office holders have no religion ?

How many south koreans believe in God? Answer that question before you start talking nonsense.

The difference with South Korea and Nigeria is that religion does not come before proper governance and common sense. Again look at the bold in your comment- they have solid educational systems and infrastructure unlike Nigeria which doesn't have anything but prioritizes religion.

Logicboy, why are you always so illogical? So the decay in the Nigerian educational system is blamed on the church? Are we running a theocracy here?
I read an article today where the EFCC, caught civil servants who collects salaries of 20 persons. Maybe you shd turn around and blame it on the church.
I don't know, maybe once in a while, you shd post some scriptures that enjoined Christians to shun development, information, and knowledge.
Christ says give to Ceaser what belongs to Ceaser. Do you understand what that means?
Christianity, allows people to willingly obey without pressure, if men like you, who don't feel they owe God any accountability, decides to act as they like, why shd you blame that on God or the church?
Please be sensible. It's very annoying when an adult acts the way you do.
