And Nigeria is Heaven as a result of your service, Kachikwu
What is wrong with these people?

“I believe that this country needs help. I believe that it is about time we began to perform for the young and upcoming. I believe that the sheer capacity of this country is unimaginable.

I do not know of any country in the world with our population, our resources, our intellect, our flamboyance, our family nexus, everything is together.”

Kachikwu said with the right leadership, the current economic crunch in Nigeria could be surmounted.

He said Nigerians would not feel the impact of the challenges posed by drop in the price of oil if government properly harnessed other natural resources.

“Everything in this country is together; the only thing that is not together is leadership and in God’s name; we are bound to change that,” he said.

“In every little space that you have, and in my own case petroleum, you have to make an absolute change and so I am not worried about price of oil.

It can be five dollar for all I care. I am worried about the direction of the industry; I am worried about changing things the way they have never done before.

“I am worried about creating opportunities that exist; I am worried about improving the standards of living; I am worried about encouraging opportunities in the sector. I am worried about opening up those opportunities that have existed for years.”

He asked the people to bury their differences and contribute their quota to the development of the country.
The above are more important, noteworthy, and heart-probing, than the $1m/annum; true or false, anyone can make $1m/annum (if you know what you're doing and are lucky enough), from the illiterate-old-woman-commodity-trader in Akure, to the highly educated banker, manager, lawyer, wise-man (scammer) on Wall street, to the talented artist in Hollywood, or the gifted athlete in London, or the savvy entrepreneur in Shanghai, whatever it is, be good at what you do, put your mind into it, and pray/hope for that one chance to breakthrough!

Nigerians don't know him. Not even that, he personally has numerous companies around the world. That's why he initially didn't want to take the job until they persuaded him.

Not surprised as ExxonMobil used to be the the biggest company in the world.

Those claiming is a lie should try and Google the list of the biggest company in the world and also try to find out the likely salary of someone working in that capacity.

Apart from "awon omo oju korolari" (Nigerian career politician), it will require patriotism for core professionals to serve this country.

ExxonMobil, chevron are foreign owned companies, as such let's use one of the G8 nation as a case study. The highest paying profession in the United states are the Medicals, and they don't earn a million dollar as wages per annum. Just saying. ...

Don't say I did not warn you!
Your hatred for the people's general Bubu Muhammadu Buhari is driving very fast to your grave. With the way your blood pressure is rising because of Buhari, you may not live to see Buhari's second term.

Oil businessmen earn far more than that. Maybe his working for Nigeria has slowed down his business.

Don't mind them ,many of those shouting lies lies don't know that many many Nigerians earn millions of dollars as salary every year abroad. Nigeria is blessed with the best brains and the whites pay handsomely for this. And ironically majority of them are unknown to Nigerians themselves. The bottom line is keep adding value to yourself and you will become valuable

The oil industry is not the medical industry. I know it's hard for you guys to believe Mr Kachikwu but as the Vice President of ExxonMobil all his take home pay plus profit sharing should be more than a million dollars. ExxonMobil was the most profitable company in the world for sometime. At his level he gets some equity or shares that comes with dividends in USD. In the oil industry, it's not just salary. There are many allowances that are paid through out the year. Try and get more info. Drivers in the oil industry are paid far more than middle level managers. Why do you think it's so difficult to get a job there?

IF HE TRULY SAID THAT,it means yet another fool has been made a minister.the okonjo iwealla who said that, let her give us her account balance as at today and tells us if she would have that much in her account,if she had remained with world bank without ever being in government as a minister.

Men, you don't know how much Mobil spoils their staffs. If an entry staff earns over a million naira in salary and incentives, what do you think a man of his level will earn ? He's a technocrat unlike Fashola and Amaechi who need to depend on political appointments.

I have been thinking about this too.

A Regional Senior VP in Mobil doesn't earn less than N200m per annum (bonus etc inclusive).

I have also seriously considered politics (to start from Chairman of my home LG) in the last 2 years, but I just don't think the legitimate pay of a LG Chair (if one doesn't want to steal) can sustain me. One of the reasons I beat a retreat. And that's me, a non-management employee of a non-IOC.

Not all Nigerians are ill minded like you want us to believe. We still have responsible citizens all over the country. If you must know,at exxon Mobil and indeed every big establishment, the employees pay the right taxes. Their taxes are actually deducted at source and remitted to government. Nigerians should desist from talking down their bests, others celebrate theirs.

I wish I could talk more on this topic as the tax guy of an oil company, but cannot be very specific due to the confidentiality required of me.

There is no way you will work for Mobil and not pay PAYE.

I see ignorance here.
