I am trusting God to help me through. Haven read this thread please I would like to know your testimonials as regards him and the Olive branch clinic. Shopaker, prob30 and davNDA please how did your experience go?

I used Dr Emeka in 2014. I cannot fault his professionalism and friendliness of his nurses. I was given fact sheets throughout every stage of the process, the clinic was pristine and it had all the modern equipment and processes. I know as I had done one IVF in SA. I actually enjoyed the process here at Olives way better. Even though I was unsuccessful, I would recommend him to anyone. He was sympathetic and did a post procedure audit to try and pin point the problem and right after that started both of us on fertility medications again without any additional cost and several refills more than one year later. Right now, we want to trust God for a natural conception. At the end of the day, It is God that gives children so if you do decide to do IVF, just go in with faith and ask God to use the Drs as the instrument for your miracle.

Baby dust to everyone believing God for bundle of joy just as I am. A friend of my introduced me to this Beauty Salon at Oniru Lagos called ( Seasons Hair and Beauty Studio). They do fertility massage and castor oil treatment package and I tell you its so amazing I tell you I have been on this baby journey for almost 10 years and I have never had this kind before. The first thing they did for me was a pregnancy test, which I told them I had one done a day before but they insisted that they must do one before they can start the treatment. After the test then the process began…….You will notice the changes after the treatment. I felt lighter and well relax after, when I got home I slept off like a baby. I woke up in the morning wanting to go for more. I am doing this treatment in preparation for IVF and possibility of conceiving naturally. So ladies I will suggest we try a safer method in our journey of trying for a baby. for those who are interested this is the phone number I found online for Seasons Hair and Beauty Studio Oniru Lagos. 08140000104 and 08029900969. I pray that the good Lord will make exception for you and give you your heart desire.

I can't say what the average is as it effects the reduction but from what i know, except if the procedure is IUI of which cost is hovers between 250-300k...normal IVF procedures averagely cost above 600k and sex selection above 1millla

@Elizapat,
IVF is In Vitro Fertilization, please read more on IVF or any health related matter on WebMD ( http://www.webmd.com/). I'm not a Dr. but you need to take care of that fibroid first. The Fluid falling back is another thing that my wife went through after our first child. OK let me share my story with you, i live in Houston Texas, US. My wife and i have a 4 yrs old boy and had problem conceiving afterwards, of course we seeked medical help here but didn't yield any result. My sis-in-law in Nigeria got my wife to speak to a herbal dr. ( iya Alagbo), she made some dried herbs that was sent to us. We soaked it in water as instructed and my wife took it a couple of times, she conceived a month after. By the grace of God, we now have a 4 month old daughter. If you think this is an accident, i have referred another of my friend in Dallas without kid after a 5 years old marriage and his wife is now pregnant. I'll be happy to give you the herbal Dr's no. should you decide to try this unorthodox treatment. I have spent over $5,000 in treatments here, but this woman charged less than 15,000 naira ($100). Good luck please can I get the orthodox Doc contact. Thanks

I am a bit guilty of not contributing to discussions, I usually visit nairn land to get information about issues in Nigeria.
We were trying to conceive for almost 6years; and like most couples, we tried a whole lot. Through a family friend, we got to know about Dr. Emeka Ikenna.
Our meetings and interactions with the people at Olive Branch was very warm and they were very professional.
It was our first IVF cycle and to the Glory of God we were successful.
I recommend Dr Emeka and his team at Olive Branch to anyone trying to conceive through assisted reproduction.
Their charges were very competitive; we enquired from other clinics.

You cant compare The Bridge Clinic IVF centre with any other, I'm a Fertility surgeon and I've worked with both The Bridge and Nordica fertility clinics and I can conveniently tell you its not about the hospital, its about the consultant.
If you want clarification I can do that for you.
Traveling out does not guarantee the success rate its your knowledge and how up to date you are and you ability to play God less that determines your success as a fertility Surgeon. I trained in Canada and its the same procedure you will go through.
So be guided.
Good day doc, will like to talk to u in private, can I get ur Num or email (08030822276. Tundechass@yahoo.com). Tanx

Blendy77:
The difference btw egg donor and egg sharing is that in egg donors, a donor is paid for the sole purpose of producing eggs just for those who need it without partaking in the transfer of embies into her womb while egg sharing, a woman is also partaking in the transfer of embryos back into her womb. That is to say, egg donors do not want pregnancy, they just want to sell their eggs but egg sharing means the woman also want to get pregnant but also want to give out part of the eggs that will be retrieved due to one reason or the other. The commonest reason is reduction of ivf cost. In sharing, the eggs are shared immediately after retrieval and both women's husband's sperm is used to inject the shared eggs allocated to both of them after which everyone will go home to await the news of number of eggs that got fertilized.
In the case of egg donor, its not all the time a recipient gets all the eggs except of course its the recipient that brought the donor herself. Most times, a donor's eggs is shared amongst 2-3 recipients to maximize profit. I got to know this when one of my senior friends did ivf in one popular ivf clinic inside Dolphin estate. She claimed the owner left Bridge to Rodding and opened her own place. The lady paid extra 350k to use donor eggs and just before transfer she insisted on seeing the embies and discovered they were going to transfer just one embie that was not even a grade A. Their explaination was that the donor didn't produce much eggs and she made lots of trouble wt them so they pleaded with her to be patient, that another retrieval from another donor will be done same day, that she will be given 3 eggs from whatever the donor produced. she then called me to to seek my opinion of the whole story. I told her to cancel the procedure n request for a refund afterall, a donor is supposed to be young and they must have done amH to be sure of her reserve before the process so they are not being honest with her cos they obviously would have shared the eggs with other people tht is why they want her to wait for another retrieval. I then called all the fert Drs I've worked with and they confirmed my suspicions. The woman and her husband decided to wait for the new donor and 3 embies were gotten and later transfered to her but then she got a bfn. Don't know if it was the plenty wahala and agitation and quarreling that gave her a bfn cos most recipients of donors tend to have higher bfps than those whose eggs were used. Maybe because the body of the recipient has not been subjected to all the rigors of many injection and egg collection angry so the womb is actually relaxed compared to you that went through all that stress and might even still be bleeding or discharging fluid from egg collection as at the time of embryo transfer. All these Drs sha, profit maximization is their major aim b4 protecting the interest of the patient. That is why those who get pregnant naturally without going thru all these stress we face should just be thanking God everyday because they don't know the stress He has saved them from passing thru to bring a child into this world..
Plz how can som1 be a donor, can u refer me to a doc/clinic?

imperiouxx: Hello guys, is it possible for two AS genotype to use this IVF to prevent having SS child(ren)? Thanks

The answer is "yes".

The PGD (Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis) technique has been around for a while. What happens is that the embyos are screened for the sickle cell trait before being implanted.

Also: since the chance of a SS foetus from two AS parents is 25% per birth per single birth, it is statistically more probable that you will have a healthy child, but: know that it is possible to check this before the pregnancy is well along to find out . . . There are also other options . . .

No idea on gender selection and also pre-implantation screening. Such high tech IVF are not too common here.
