Zhara Buhari is currently in a UK school.

High chief of neverlandd, what are you producing? If you have, exporting it won't be a problem, People who are into cashew export are making a killing right now so don't peddle falsehood, the problem is that most people became over reliant on cheap oil proceeds & didn't look for alternatives before now..

Why did you also sidestep your earlier assertion? Ba sincerity of purpose ko?

Mr wailer up there, schooling abroad is a luxury!! that your country's educational standard is falling & you choose to seek alternative (great decision) is cool, but it doesn't make it less of a luxury!!!!

Some things are just common sense & logic, wailing, nit picking & bitching about everything isn't opposition...

You can't do that anymore from Nigeria and even if you manage to. The charges will be insane. I paid 35 dollars to join a professional organisation and got charged 30k.

This is serious! And westernunion charges are outrageous. Can't Nigerians send money through western union to their kids studying abroad?

U had a choice to vote for continuity but u wanted change.

What has this got to do with forex scarcity

Even during jonathan's time the dollar had already started falling over 200.
Its not about change or continuity, its about falling oil prices and our mono-economy. If u want to build forex then we need to start exporting rather than importing!

Lazy children. So they can't look for jobs to raise cash for their upkeep and fees. Let them keep crying
Not everyone is lazy
it is not allowed to work in some countries (e.g Malaysia). If you are caught by the immigration officer, you will have yourself to be blamed..

Why on earth are they crying for heavens sake!! schooling abroad is a "Luxury", it is not a Basic need!! undecided .... The country is barely able to give oil importers & manufacturers the Forex they need, where on earth will the one for "Luxury" items come from....

It's not easy for the parent but the country is in a dire straits & their wards problems are the least of the present worries!

Imagine the nonsense someone mum had to spew due to blind partisan support. Such disgrace embarassed.

How does that justify branding them as people that voted for Buhari? By that logic I can brand you a Buhari supporter.

That's the one million question ..

Watch as they avoid this important question like a plague cool

What is *Basic for Buhari is *luxury for Nigerians ..
Her Father is President and an ex head of the state. The constitution grants her several privileges based on the status of her Father, If you don't like it, you should have complained when your "best President" was in power, he might have listened to you.

As for the parents complaining, this is nothing to wail about. Lots of Nigerians in the US send money home monthly, tell your kids to find one or several of them, agree on an exchange rate and pay the naira equivalent into the account here in Nigeria.

Its that simple.

Is that a fair statement? I disagree that sending a child overseas to study when there are no better alternatives in the country of residence is a luxury.

If you could afford to send your own child overseas wouldn't you?

Not every rich man in Nigeria is a common treasury looter. There are lots of wealthy men who worked hard for their money and also would spear no expense to ensure their child gets the best.

Fire, you are quick to use the term "hypo /Jik" but what is this one you swing from thread to thread with divergent opinions about USD scarcity?

Where is the Forex supposed to come from when oil is trading @ 32$ (minor miracle) , the country almost entirely depend on just the proceeds from this single commodity & I'm 100% sure you in your personal capacity produces nothing worthy of export!!

Chill "high chief" (jury is still out on that one,) there is life outside of your angst/bitterness/beed with Tinubu.... you can't keep harping on that, free your mind & live your life!! not everything is political! Pele! sad

100%... I also hope PMB can lead by example & have his grandkids school here since his own kids are grown!!!

Be that as it may I'm sure the parents weeping at the banks are not Dangote, Elumelu,Mark, Saraki, Lawan, Oduah, Faleke, Ambode, Fashola, Ekweremadu et al...

The Rich & Political elite are not the ones to cry!! Don't compare apples , oranges..

While on the Topic of luxury, a $1.4k handbag is luxury to me while a 14k one is a basi necessity to Linda Ikeji!! Luxury is relative to income & isn't a concise science...

I know this is not likely to satisfy you though cos you have a set & predetermined mode which will ensure that you nitpick & fault my point, just felt like indulging you!! BYE... smiley

Eeiyah, no see me like that na .. Mo,(this name go dey make you moan) .. You know that time wey you go dey trip for babe, but dey form harsh kiss

But, justice must be done here .. The luxury part got me cos I know people that gather and suffer here so that their children will have *basic education abroad ..some students even do menial jobs to support the *change their civil service parents send ..

I know a G-string of N20k is Basic to ya while it may be luxury to Linda Ikeji despite the slim income gap shocked

Again, no hard feelings just that someone close is also weeping heavily ..

How to do expect any Nigerian to export anything in this hardship and economic conditions ? How do you compete favorably in the international market ?

As much as I sympertize with this administration, I will surely not shy away from my strong opposition stand, we warned Nigerians not to return back to Egypt & slavery, they refused to listen. See the nemesis now.

CBN no longer independence to marshal its best policy, but rather take orders from the dullard.

so GEJ/PDP was the "Moses" that would have taken Nigerians to the promise land flowing with oil and money?

i guess the orders from the "dullard" to the CBN is to sabotage the economy by all means necessary?

So you were in yonder all these while & never saw anything wrong till the evil nest of killers you support lost the centre!!

BTW, I'm finding it hard to believe that you have the kind of resources to sponsor a candidate in an election & also have the time to spend here to lament in a woe begotten manner all day, everyday... & even if you do, you only did as an investment (looter by association)which implies that you are as bad as the man you wail about everyday...

The highlighted is one of the definitions of luxury. So whether one resides in opulence or not, certain things characterize luxury, and in my humble opinion, sending a kid abroad for studies is valuable, perhaps helpful, giving the decadence in our education sector; but ultimately, its luxury!

Lol, y'all MFs that are calling foreign students to come back home are stupid, with your stupid ass educational system and the number of people queuing up every year to get into schools, how can you guarantee them the admission into schools they want, studying the course they want to, I school broad and make more than enough cash to feed myself, I ain't bothered by this sh-t.

This is the dullest quote I have ever seen on Nairaland, Go & check Buhari's cabinet. Foreign trained, even the new media assistant Buhari appointed few days ago schooled in the UK. Woke Soyinka, Okonjo Iweila, Chimamanda Adiche.. Just to name a few all have quality foreign education. If you think Nigerian schools can compare to the top 1000 in the world, then you are a general in the Zombie army. Our leaders send their kids abroad so they become more equipped to take up the sensitive positions when the come back. They never practice what they preach. Even the CBN Governor, where do you think his children are? Madam don't think like a mediocre that doesn't aspire beyond the bank of rivers Niger & Benue. Learn to think big. Or take ur Ekiti state university certificate to apply for a job with FAO or WHO for all I care

WO! They have not seen anything yet. They better send their children back to naija to study because nobody can save them from this forex scarcity. These same children would study abroad and come back to Nigeria to intimidate the rest of us that studied here.
These parents contributed to the dropped in value of naira. They make money in naija and pump it abroad. Why dem no go suffer the fruit of their labour? This is a practical example of cause and effect tongue tongue tongue tongue grin

They should all withdraw there lads from all those oversea schools coz they are using those kids studies oversea to delapiidate the little foreign reserve we have tht would have being used @ forex for importation of important goods into the country,,,
only students going to study professional courses & those going for research with guarantee tht they will return to practise should only be given preference...
why should a student be going abroad to study political sc.,sociology, etc with our foreign reserve s going down the drain.,,abeg let them withdraw all of them & send to schools in Nigeria,,afterall, there are still gud private universities here if u feel u dont like govt. Owned schools..
