Let the northerners have the position this time. It has always been occupied by southerners while the North is been marginalized. As for me, i prefer northerners occupy 80 percent of positions cos they have a positive track record in leadership. I'm from the SW btw.

'This APC government will kill us in dis country. Every thing has increased. dollar, transport fare, foodstuffs, fuel price, bread,.... everything . Even 1+1 dat used to be 2 before has now gone up to 4.....'?

God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria

Since when religious body begin to experience zoning. Even though, one can't separate politics from religion this days. Judging from their recent activities, it should be better refer to as Christians Association of Nigeria Party.

When I first saw the headline I wanted to quickly say that whether northerner or southerner we are all Nigerians. But when I read further I realised the allegation is a serious one...the things PDP warned Nigerians about.

Nobody can islamize Nigeria by force or else we will all go to war to defend our Christian faith.

I think that position should go to the north this time. Southerners have held it for a while. The Body of Christ is ONE and we MUST practice true Christianity.

Rev Father Kukah will make a good CAN president

What has a genuine man of God got to fear even if a northerner occupies the position? so long as he is a born again christian, it should be ok by everyone. we are all one in Christ or is Christ divided?
Re: Buhari Plans To Install Northerner As C.A.N Leader, Group Alleges by Akainzo(m): 11:16am On Feb 22, 2016
I thought CAN is made up of Christians from ALL OVER NIGERIA!!!

Or is CAN saying the Northern Christians are less of a Christian than their Southern counterparts? Or is CAN saying the leadership of a Christian body has been previously influenced by the President (is this why Oritsejafor was elected?) and the reason for the CAN President's jet being used to buy arms?

There are some things that should not be said by religious organisations, this is one of them.

Nothing is really wrong, cos we are all Christian. But why will someone from another religion influence the leadership because he is president?

Did Obj or Jonathan interfered in their Islamic decision making?

Am not against a northerner being the president, but buhari should know his boundary. He can't impose an apc loyalist on Christians.

#CAN is not a government parastatal.
Ok I see. the title was mis leading... You are very right.

I can't dispute this because Osinbajo may also be involved, being a cleric that he calls himself.

Ok. My few cents

1. Reports like this are sponsored, stuupppid, for the immature and idiotic
2. The journo who wrote it eas not even intelligent enough to articulate logical arguments. Is hearsay from a fictituous group enough to hold up as credible evidence?
3. If the Northerners deem it fit to want to gun for the leadership of CAN, based on their vested interest, they are entitled to it. If they have enough base to rally and unified support and win, what is wrong with that.
4. Did you guys know that the Northern-block in in PFN of CAN was one of the strongest backers that brought Oritshejafor in. It was not a presidential agenda at the time?

OK. Father Kukah has said it before, the patrimony strategy of people who want to keep the average Nigeria down is still at work (make them unintelligent, throw baits of unfounded rumours and ethnic sentiments, deflect their thought and reasoning from the most important national issues and replace it with unnecessary conjectures and innuendos. Trust 9jas, the will gobble it up)

I thought CAN and even Christianity is an independent body... How in the world did the president of APC get such a power to interfere or influence their elections..

If that's possible then the so called CAN is nothing more than a political foot mat for corrupt lying politicians in power
CAN as lost their focus since the time for AYO the PDPCAN president

It's this kind of talk the proponent of the idea wants to hear. Nobody cared about where CAN president comes from until now that APC wants to use divide and rule. Have you forgotten that Onaiyekan was once the CAN President and he comes from the north? I'd prefer a candidate from any region, provided its devoid of political interference. Everyone knows that the south is the stronghold of Christianity in Nigeria and the anti-christs will do everything possible to create a distrust between the northern and southern Christians.

I believe those making such allegation are just looking for a way to distract the president from doing what he wanted to do (sanitize this country from the corrupt politicians). They should just leave the man and let him face the fight against corrupt politicians and put the economy aright.

What a country
Who ever sleeps and wakes up at the wrong side of his bed will put the blame on Buhari.
Whoever is seldom to fail in an election, will blame Buhari.
Our President is our president. He should always be regarded and respected, and, not be ridiculed publicly

When the crooked junkie, Oritsejafor, of all people was foisted on Christians, no one raised issues like this (remember both didn't just come from the South, they are "brothers" from states sharing boundaries), today, they've turned the leadership of CAN to a North vs South / PDP vs APC thing.

CAN for me is dead and buried.

What's Buhari's own with CAN?

Maybe I've forgotten but don't we have eligible Northern Christians and are they not qualified for CAN leadership. Then also, there'll be an election, so what's the fuse

Too much politics in CAN, Now I see why the Catholic Church pulled out.
