Emeldamicheals big congratulations to you. Same thing they did to my wife o. Only difference is I had paid 80% before travelling. Full doctor's fee and 70% of hospital. In fact I just completed payment for the hospital yesterday.

Guys if it is possible for you to make payments before travelling, kindly do so. They are not stopping you from coming into Houston but rather trying to protect the tax payers money. It's very important to make some form of commitment financially.

Good luck to everyone

Making FULL payment doesn't also guarantee you entry. There are people who got in with less than $500 cash and debits cards only. There are people who have been traveling to the United States for decades who have also been turned back. There is no magic formula for any POE that's why you are told that your visa doesn't guarantee entry to anybody.

They don't give their personal numbers. Call the office number and they will link it to her pager. If you can't get tru, go to oakbend ASAP, give dem ur name since u re registered and tell dem u re her patient. They will contact her immediately. Meanwhile, watever it is, don't waste time and head to the hospital now. All the best, it will end in praise!

Thank God you made it, I guess houston poe has escalated the way they behave. Please do they have the right to go through your phone. Abeg is there a place one can make an official complaint cos it's like they treat preggies like terrorist.

Sadly they have the right. As decided in the case of United States vs Montoya de Hernandez. You can read more about it here https://www.elsevier.com/connect/what-are-your-rights-at-airport-screenings-and-checkpoints

And we can also seek redress here https://www.dhs.gov/step-2-how-use-dhs-trip

Hope this helps.

I agree I said all that but still it still doesn't change the fact that it's their rules, their country. It's not our right to be there but a privilege . Na we carry our legs go apply for visa. So we play by their rules. And if unavoidably you have to go through those POEs then be ready to take anything you see. Meanwhile IAH was and will be a breeze for some smiley

U've said it all...na we carry our legs waka go meet them

Thanks! That was very educative and more up to date than the info I had. However, I took note of the following and I quote :

"Until recently, challenges to CBP's authority asserting that property searches of electronic devices at the border violate individuals' First Amendment↗ right to freedom of expression have not been upheld. However, in March, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in United States v. Cotterman issued a decision en banc↗ holding that CBP agents must have reasonable suspicion of criminal activity before conducting comprehensive searches of laptops or other digital devices.

This decision is a significant reversal of prior court doctrine and creates, for the first time, a broad standard aimed at protecting travelers' electronic information from suspicionless searches.
The court did not define what constitutes a comprehensive search, and the decision only applies to agents operating within the Ninth Circuit (which includes the US-Mexico border along Arizona and California). It is likely that electronic devices will still be subject to cursory examinations. "

So my question is are they checking these devices because of criminal suspicions? I doubt so.

This Madam is so mischievous. I think you should give your body at least 2 weeks to rest, except there is something really urgent that you need to comeback home for...

A friend left after 11days and went to jand where she had more comfortable accommodation since her parents have a house there. She came back to Nija like 6weeks after that.

I believe one of the major issues MIHS had with us was the speed with which people sped out of Phoenix after delivery. The doctors didn't like that at all, one attending told us its not good for the new mum to engage in any form of travel before 6 weeks.

Also, I know someone who started bleeding two weeks after delivery, she had left for another part of America, she collapsed, thank God for correct emergency services...911...if she was back in Lagos Nigeria, I doubt she would have survived o. You will not have complications in Jesus name but I think its better to play safe.

You can travel with 10k without declaring excess. What it means is that as a group (family) travelling together, you cannot have in excess of 10k altogether. If to say you are four you can carry 10k total and if its only you, you can still carry 10k. I hope you get it?

damidamsel:

Pls so i'm a bit confused wt d above statement....does that mean we can no longer travel wt funds above $5k as opposed to the previous $10k? What happens to those who go through POE where the CBP officers prefer to see more cash at hand? If one travels with more funds but does not declare at Nigerian customs, wont that pose a problem when you then declare total funds at POE?

Pls anyone who understands this process should kindly advise as i need to quickly decide if i need to deposit funds to foreign acct instead of going through Nigerian custom wahala. Tx
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by happytbaby: 7:47pm On Feb 22, 2016
Not true. check back in like 24 to 48 hours.

On second thoughts, if you are not so close to delivery, let Oga wait like 2weeks before next appointment, what I mean is schedule the appointment immediately (in like 48hours when the portal allows him to) but for like 2weeks' time so that he doesn't appear too desperate.

Dear El Paso Mamas,

I noticed that Doctoresparati now has Sierra Hospital as their delivery hospital on the website . Has anyone used this hospital?

Do you guys know if one still has the option of using Del Sol Medical Centre?
