It is mostly natural but also can be influenced by personality and parenting style. Most girls naturally gravitate towards their dads, while Boys their mum, but not in all cases. The response of the parent can also be a factor to influence this.

In my own case I have two daughters aged 3years and 5months although I love them very much no matter how hard I try they love their dad more. My 5months old baby immediately she sees her dad would even stop sucking just for him to carry her. Sometimes I do feel bad when I see how close they are to him. The eldest one only comes close to me whenever the dad is not around and she keeps asking where is my daddy until he returns. I pray God gives me a son.

Thanks I can't believe this thread still exists my five months old baby is now seven years old and I have a son now he's three years old and it's been a blast, he tells me he loves me every thirty minutes, truly sons are for the mothers I am truly blessed.

Try to extend your sights beyond gender identity and consider that what attracts you to your mom may have absolutely nothing to do with her gender but her personality. Unlike your relationship with your mother, my mom and I aren't as close as she is with my other siblings. We barely ever talk or chat and we live in pretty much the same house. I don't have any issues against her nor do I hate her. She equally loves me — my siblings think I am her favorite child since she seems to go out of her way for me. Personality-wise, my mother and I do not directly benefit each other and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is simply just the way it is.

God forbid I will have a good daughter in law that will be my last born, I have been a good daughter in-law to my MIL and also a good sister in-law so I don't think I will be punished with a Jezebel when I wasn't a Jezebel to my in-laws.
