divinehand2003:The Minister of Health is a seasoned obstetrician/gynaecologist but is policy statements shows he may not achieve much in the Ministry of Health. Firstly, there is a National Health Bill. I thought his priority should be to set up the National Health Commission. The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency has been on ground for years. What is the work of the agency. The Federal Government should leave primary healthcare to the communities, Local Government Councils & the States. Even in Africa, the Nigerian Healthcare system is rated very low. We are not involved in research but depend solely on foreign technology and aids from donor organization. We have not done anything right in the health section since Prof. Ransome Kuti left the Ministry. Secondly, the maladministration & corruption in the sector is alarming. New & vibrant administrators should be appointed for all the Federal tertiary hospitals. All staff must be on the IPPIS payment platform. Training & retraining of personnel & replacement of obsolete equipment must be a priority. Finally, the Federal Government must encourage international best practices. There must be public private partnership if we intend to overhaul the healthcare system. |

[quote author=plaetton post=43297276] There is such thing as against. Only shallow minds think that being critical of a government is the same as being against the government.[quote] "There is no such thing as against " - was that what you wanted to write ? 1 Like |

KingEbukasBlog: Abacha's government was not a democratically elected government. It was an illegitimate government, and he schemed to remain in power indefinitely. They perverted everything. There were too many reasons to be AGAINST his government. 1 Like 1 Share |

erico2k2: very matured response and i give you kudos for that , however let me break it down on how it works. The money been spent at the moment is the supplementary budget of almost 600billion that was passed last year around September. in a lame mans explanation, if you want to build house and the builder gives you quotation, can he starts building without the owner giving him funds? The answer is NO.. so what Nigerians should do is to direct the wailing to the national assembly to hurry up and pass the budget then hold buhari accountable if he still uses we will when the budget is passed. For now na siddon look we dey until the budget is passed . cheers |
