Please what happens when one was filed for by a sibling who is a citizen when one was single. Now the individual is marrried with kids and the filing has been approved, what happens to his family? Are they automatically qualified to immigrate or does the individual go alone and then files for them on arrival?

Again, this depends on the visa category. You should contact NVC as soon as possible to get your family added to the petition and adjust the class as needed. Failing to update your information could result in an ineligibility.

Hi Visaofficer, I met my wife on a social site and we talked for months before she came here to visit me.
My petition has been approved and I want to make appointment for interview, do I need to print our email conversations ?
Also she do make videos and send to me before she came, do I need to burn the videos in a CD as proof of our relationship before she visited me
Or do I leave them in my phone?
Thank you

Good day VO, I will like to know if a pending I-130 petition for alien relative (F4) makes one ineligible for a BI/B2 visa. If it doesn't, does it decrease the success rate even if one has a strong tie to Nigeria (Immediate family and a good job).

Hello VO,
Please I just want to confirm if the ustraveldocs.com website actually shows the real status update of one's passport. This is because I received a response from the consulate based on the email I sent, and my passport has been sent on February 26th and is available for pickup. Yet, the above mentioned website still tells me till now, that there is no status update for my passport no, even after I sent a mail to inform them that my visa has been printed. I couldn't even reach any call agent on telephone either.
Can this be a technical glitch or is it something I should be more worried about? Again, I don't know if the same 5-10 days wait period applies to me as well.

Printing your email conversations can be useful in providing evidence of your ongoing relationship, but we won't look at a CD. The amount of information you provide is up to you, but if there is insufficient information you will be delayed.

This is really a non-immigrant question; every B1/B2 is based on the circumstances of that individual case. No, a pending immigrant visa isn't an automatic ineligibility, but it could affect the outcome as could any other number of factors. You can read through the entire non-immigrant thread for additional information.

I'm confused. Did you get an email from the Consulate? Any email from a person is going to be more reliable than an automated system. I am not going to lie and tell you that the website is perfect - all systems can have glitches. Your best bet is to follow the instructions you were given, if that doesn't work, then you should email the Consulate for further guidance.

Well first, I would urge you and everyone else asking questions here to use punctuation. It really helps separate sentences and thoughts and makes it easier for me to understand and respond.

If your case was reaffirmed, then you are going to come back in for another interview. You should answer the questions honestly. There isn't much else I can tell you because there isn't much more to it.

The email I got from the Consulate doesn't seem automated, but that of us travel docs definitely is because, the response I got was irrelevant to my complaint. I don't know think there's still a need to send an email to the consulate since I've been told the visa is available for pickup at DHL collection centre, Victoria island, just to avoid being unnecessarily persistent. I've read enough to know that they are always super busy smiley
However, my major concern is that, one is expected to check their passport status update before coming in for pick up. Now, the problem is, I don't even have a status update. So, I think I'll just go down and check at the pickup location after 10 days which I believe is enough wait time. Nonetheless, I think the consulate needs to have "a little talk" with this collection centre or ustraveldocs.com/ng tech guys to avoid unnecessary worries smiley

You should bring originals of all documents and make copies to be included in your file.

Many people take screenshots of the conversations and print them out.

Will a certified copy of the marriage certificate be accepted? I don't think the original can get here in time before my interview.

Hello VO,
I understand that there isn't any definite wait period for visa status updates due to certain factors but, I was just wondering if u can give me a tentative wait period based on current happenings, for visa status to change from "issued" to "ready for pickup". But if not, please can u just kindly tell me If the consulate is experiencing some kind of delayed processing or heavy administrative workload. I just want to have something to hold on to, please.
Thank you.

Good day V.O.

Here is my Question. I am a Beneficiary of a Petition under F2B category Filed by my Mom. She became a Citizen long before the case was approved 2yrs ago. She called Uscis back in 2012 to inform them she was already a Citizen, but for some reason the case was still kept under F2b category, which seems to even move faster than F1 under the Visa Bulletin. I Am Single, and Have 2kids. My Boyfriend and I Live together and taking care of our kids. My First son is 3+ while my second son is 6months. Please how do I inform them about my boys so they can be added as Derivatives to my case. What documents are required??

Awaiting your reply. Thanks and have a blessed day.
