Hello hope43

Thanks for the prayer.

This is a story of you cant cheat nature. While you were on primolut, your menses was on hold in utero, also progestogens would further thicken the endometrium. So the menstrual volume increased, hence the longer bleeding days.

My advice, just Wait it out. It will pass.
ok thanks a lot. But dr will it affects my nxt period will my nxt period arrives at the normal day?

Hello Nazablossom and happy new month.

Honestly, the chances are slim. Also, I don't even know what size we are talking about here. High chances of malpresentation amongst other things.

What you can do is, put your life and the life of your baby before your desires. CS is quickly becoming a minor surgery, although still major. It is all safer and quicker in recent times thanks to spinal anaesthesia.

Anyway, we never say never so lets keep our fingers crossed till later.
Thanks a lot. the one at lower segment is 6cm. I was worried because of the money that will be involved, we are financially down right now. I pray that God will provide for us,the most important is the life of mother and child. God will continue to crown your efforts

Good morning doc,

I developed a very high FSH level after I had an ovarian cyst surgery last year. I thought it was only due to the surgery and would eventually come down but I had a test two days ago and it still came back very high, which ultimately means I have a poor ovarian reserve. I'd like to know the best treatment (if any) that would improve my eggs production and reduce my FSH level naturally. And if that's not obtainable, what are the best effective alternatives to conceiving?? I am not married yet but hopefully would be, so I'm trying to be pro-active with the whole process.

I've also been having series of hot flashes and night sweats. What drugs can I take asides the combined contraceptives cos I'd like to monitor my own period.

Thanks.

NB: I am 27 and have a son who's 7

Here's what we are going to-do, one of these drugs is the culprit. Lets find out which one it is.

Stop the ferrous sulphate and continue with the others for 3day. If symptoms persist we'll eliminate another.

They're all important but when complications outweighs value, we have to reconsider.

Hello Doc,

The best of the day to you. I have been trying to have a baby for 1 year 4 months. I have had 3 chemical pregnancies in this time. All ending at 5weeks 3 days. I always get a faint second line on the pregnancy strip which does not get darker. The first two started with spotting for days before finally bringing my period. The last one the doctor put me on progesterone but by 5 weeks 3 days my pregnancy test turned negative so I had to stop the progesterone. I have done trans vaginal scan and the scan came out fine. I did hormone profiling and the doctor said the result was good, progesterone level was 38 but Prolactin was 30ng/ml. He put me on dostinex 0.25mg twice a week for four weeks which ended in the last week of January. Today I am 2 days late and have a positive HPT though faint. I am scared that this is going to repeat itself all over again because it is faint. I take folic acid and added Vit E this cycle and I am on progesterone suppositories 200mg per day. Is there any advise you can give me to assist me or anything I can request my doctor to give me?

Hello anitank

Best treatment to improve your eggs production? Sadly non that I know of. Females' eggs production stops in-utero, and at birth you have about 400,000 and its a downhill process from there till menopause.

Alternatives to conceiving? High levels of FSH is not the absolute indicator of ovarian failure. So there might be one or two resilient wannabe a child egg(s) remaining. Not to hazard a gamble, and also not to raise your hopes, IVF is your most likely option.

Hot flashes and night sweat? Nigeria is too hot. J/k
These symptoms are synonymous with menopause. But, you are already on the right path, the combined oral contraceptive is to serve as hormone replacement therapy and regularise your MC/mitigate symptoms of incipient menopause.
No need for adjuvant therapy. Stay on your meds for now.

In all, am saddened by your situation, especially because of your age. Do you have a partner?

You may need to do an Antimillerian Hormone assay(AMH) for definitive diagnosis of Premature Ovarian Failure.

Hello Maria2016

What do you mean by chemical pregnancy? Miscarriage right?
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Maria2016: 8:34am On Mar 02, 2016
By chemical pregnancy I mean the pregnancy does not last long enough to be seen on a scan. I get a positive HPT and positive pregnancy test in the hospital and after a week and few days a pregnancy test will come out negative and my period will start.

Ok. We are on the same page.

Abortions that early are largely caused by chromosomal abnormalities. Poor quality sperm or ovum.

Are you or your husband on any conception supplement?

Secondly, we'll look at infections.

Lastly, have you ever been pregnant before? Whether or not its for your current partner(husband).
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Maria2016: 8:47am On Mar 02, 2016
My husband is not on any supplements as the doctor said my husband's SFA (Sperm Test) was good and he had no issues with him. I have taken pregnacare conception but the same miscarriage still happened. I have taken Ovaboost to improve egg quality, Omega 3 fatty acid supplements, folic acid, Vit E and baby aspirin all to no avail.

I have not had any infections (including stds) before and I have also not been pregnant before.

What is your blood group, genotype and that of your husbands?

I have also taken Vit B complex and Evening Primrose Oil (EPO)

Am considering the possibility of Antiphospholipid syndrome at play here.

I think your doctor should consider this as a plausible cause.

I sympathise with your situation. I pray God gives both you and your husband the wisdom to synergistically find a mutually intelligible solution.

HSG? You can go ahead with the test. Just to tie up any loose ends and absolve yourself from the no-conception issue.

Note, this doesn't guarantee a male child. If your husband is so particular about this, instead of risking your life at the delivery couch he should pay for Artificial Reproductive Technology.

I believe every man has his sexual idiosyncracies. From the Christine Greys to the Antonio Banderas sexual fetish differs.

My question is, are you disturbed about this or curious?
