Back to the matter

Bro, though i know how intimidating it is, seeing your mates prevail in the area of their academics while you are stagnant, but I think what you should be more concerned about is improving your life towards becoming a better person not running away from your friends each time they are back on holiday. That you are unfortunate to secure admission does not mean your life should be miserable but to motivate you to think indeptly and wisely . In fact, I see school as a stepping stone to greatness NOT an automatic passport to accumulate wealth.

More so, it's paramount to know that life is a race we run on different tracks in which we head to various destinations. Your friends might be in 400L for now but I can assure you that it does not guarantee a fulfilling life. Whether you are in sch for now or not, hardwork, diligence, discipline, mindset and persistence are the bedrock of success

However, while you are still striving to secure admission, kindly venture into something productive so that your self esteem will not affected. I will advise you to also try monotechnic since university isn't working and I pray that God will help you in your quest

Pls i need your advice i'm worried and frustrated i finished sec. school far back as 2010 i was among the brainy ones. Nobody to assist me after 3yrs i gathered money to register for waec 2013 but they cancelled the centre, which i took gce 2014 i also took jamb which i failed woefully. In 2015 i register and i scored 234 to study Economics in OAU, i sat for their putme 210 but i wasnt offered admission all my colleagues are in final year. My parent are making life a living hell for me. Among my peers is guy which we had the jamb score has been offerend admission to UI. Anytime i see him i dodge I dnt go out anymore i stay indoors all through. im currently devastated and confused, neither eat i think althrough. Pls i need ur urgently before something odd happens. Pls mods push it to FP i need a reasonable advice ASAP!

Wait for your time.

I spent 8 years seeking admission (June 2001- January 2009)

I was frustrated, my junior brothers gained admission before me.

I once considered committing suicide, I found it shameful to go outside our gate. I became a laughing stock, I will be the one to cook, wash toilet, dust the cars, grind pepper etc

But today, I am a graduate, with years of working experience and I will complete my masters degree in May by God's grace.

You know what? You cannot beat God's time.

Be diligent, read hard and God will help you.

Participate fully in intense tutorial lessons. Morning afternoon and night sessions and take dem srzly. (you can get a private tutor as an xtra support) buy past question of all your subjects and marry them. Buy all necessary textbooks. Or dose mini textbooks aka keypoints. U can get dem for 100n at any bookshop

Again, know everything in ur textbooks and keypoints. Solve all your maths and believe you can succeed
your advice makes it sound like d guy is a dullard.....according to wat he stated....he said he was part of d brainy ones in school...so i think d problem here is...he hasnt just been fortunate with getting admission

I have a similar story as you OP, the only difference is that I caused part of it myself. I left secondary school in 2010, failed Chemistry then in WASSCE then re-sat for the same exam in 2011 and failed yet again. Regrettably, I stayed in academic idleness throughout 2012 and 2013 because I was afraid of failure, but when 2014 came, I began having worries of someone who isn't getting any younger. My junior brother whom I was four years ahead of in secondary school had already made his papers. Tried GCE because of Chemistry but my centre was cancelled, and then in 2015, I tried GCE once again and came out with an excellent reward (with even A1 in Mathematics). This ongoing 2016 JAMB UTME is my first experience, and I already have 260 to go with into post UME. I pray for God's favour because it hasn't been easy. Though I'll be 21 by April, my hope of gaining admission is high and I'm not relenting. I'll advise you do same.

Why not

Cheer up. You are not alone.
Back then, WAEC and JAMB dealt mercilessly with people. It was NECO that came to the rescue.

Even now, it's private universities and NOUN that people are using to assist themselves.
You can look at that option too. Or start some courses. This world has passed just sitting at home.

Tell yourself that you are more than this, there is nothing you want to become that you cannot all you need to do is to just believe in yourself.

U came to d world alone not with ur friends. I once ran into a secondary school colleague who used to be ridiculed for being an olodo in a badass ride. Well after secondary school he went to learn construction and now has a company today . there are others i know who had first class since 2012 no beta job.
