otil1:Thanks for ur reply, Aqua rapha pure water is 80 at. Onitsha south part New market, their motor comes around every morning and that's where I buy.............. At akwata, tomatoe sales for 1500 per basket and onions is very very cheap, we buy "nwa opoko" abakiliki. Yam very cheap at court area around ministry of lands. Like I said, I buy fuel at mega every friday or saturday at Mega and have never spent more than. 2hrs on queue, wch I use for the week, besides at least every once in a week, masters Energy, MRS, Conoil,Total, sells fuel at normal price. At presidential road around onuasata we experience minimum of 15hrs power supply daily. Stop the hatred and say the truth. I agree the economy is not in good shape but not as bad as portrayed Has transporters increased far in Agbani road, abakpa, obiagun ugwuaji and other places in the town? Prove me wrong |

SLIDEwaxie:What we are experiencing is inflation and inflation can be caused by more than one reason. When the price of a good number of things increase due to the weakening local currency, sellers of other items and services may be forced to mildly increase the selling price of their goods/services to cope with the increased cost of living. As some sellers increase their prices, the cycle repeats itself in a ripple effect. So an increase in the cost of a significant amount of things in a society can create a ripple inflation effect. When younger, the government increased significantly the salaries of civil servants nationwide (minimum wage increase). This led to people across the country being able to buy more and the sellers being aware of this since they watchthe news too and live in Nigeria. There was a rather mild but noticeable surge in inflation at that time because Nigerian sellers increased prices a bit convinced the buyers were able to pay. Now these are just two scenarios. In the present case, the cost of TVs, phones, ACs, leather bags, clothing, building materials, generators, website hosting (the list goes on) has increased do to the weakened naira. This is inflation on its own and it brings to bear a ripple effect on society as everyone doing business that has these imported things as components directly or indirectly, must increase the selling price of their eventual product/service. The small business owner who now spends more in the course of living (although he does not buy more than he used to before) feels forced to pass this cost to his customers by slightly increasing the price of his goods and services. And as stated before, a ripple effect occurs as these higher prices are borne by other members of the society, who feel forced to ease the burden on themselves by passing higher prices on to their own customers or clients. |

Ahmeduana:So you don't know that your Hero's economic policies would be felt now? When he was busy pushing money into the economy, never considered savings for raining days, even when the price of dollars per barrel was high, you didn't know you will suffer in the end? I pity you Meanwhile, enlightened yourself with this article https://mobile.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1047263811981411&id=781222181918910 |

SLIDEwaxie:Directly or indirectly, prices of other items affects food price.. like gasoline, electricity, bad or high transportation system. Cos the transporter will increase charges and the market women will double thiers too. |

amtaken:When they tell you people corruption must be fought to a standstill you thought its a joke. You fought to keep someone who agreed to the sharing of monies meant for fighting insurgency among private individuals and who opened the gates to our treasure house for everyone - politicians, religious leaders, militants etc to help themselves. Well bad news for you is that corruption has a ripple effect, the corrupt practices perpetrated today will affect children that will be born tomorrow. The best thing buhari can do is start the cleansing process and he is doing just that. If you think it is going to be easy then you deceive yourself. |

Go to the so-called Dasuki gate and check the footprints and fingerprints and you will see those of Buhari. Also ask the elders around you about PTF and how Buhari squandered the money meant for communities development of PTF. Don't stop there, also ask them about Buhari's corrupt roles as a Petroleum Minister. Merge your findings to what happens around you now in terms of fuel scarcity viz-a-viz inflation which emanated as soon as Buhari emerged as the President and also Petroleum Minister. I tell you one thing: zombies will continue to suffer till Buhari is impeached. #sufferingandsmiling is really real. ADAMUdaCOWBOY: |

I plead with the senate and house of Reps to begin the process of impeaching buhari before things degerate to a stage where CANNIBALISM becomes the norm in Nigeria. Please our gallant soldiers should also warm up for a likely coup should the legislators fail to do the needful. |

Richy4:it is funny u shld ask that question- I cld av ignored u too like the rest, but I am sure u av nothing to say. While coolscott made a very valid point abt people trying to cushion the effect of inflation by raising the price, he failed to address the reason why these foodstuffs didnt quite increase from the main source. My point, if u can't comprehend, is not to discredit a sensible point as coolscott's, but to affirm the fact that most times, Nigerians like to make Nigerians suffer for nothing! |

I'm in independence layout right this moment and it is raining and windy. Stopped us from going for 9am service at Dunamis new artisan. Bros, there's nowhere in Enugu Aquq rapha sells for N80. Go to their depot in artisan. Go to the one near Roban; that should be the closest to you, I think. Last time pure water was N80 was just about after xmas. You transport yourself to new market from onuasat to onitsha south, new market to buy aqua rapha. That's suspicious you know. We buy yam sam place and stop dat "very cheap" talk b'cos it has added money. They will tell you they spend more on transport. I'm on ground. Let's bet and meet at artisan 11am and I will snap with you and prove to you that things have gone up greatiyk4u: |

SLIDEwaxie:Sir, please pardon me..... The point is I spent 4 years of my life studying that boring course called Economics....In terms of your question u posted earlier on how the strengthening of a dollar could affect supply and demand, It came as a shock to me...... because every Economist both undergraduate or graduate could look at it in both micro or Macro perspective...........But u, u implied that it got nothing to do with every day demand and supply.... or any thing I asked that question thinking maybe it was taught in Economics class in high school..... I did not really mean to demean U in any way....Please for give me.... I am really sorry if I have caused you grief in any way |

How many cars did Buhari get from Dasuki? How much money did he get in dollars? If you don't know ask! Quit arguing. Carry out your research well before coming here to defend the illiterate Buhari who has made the Nigerian economy to drop from No 1 to No 13 in Africa. Shameless people. ADAMUdaCOWBOY: |
