Don't mind them jare. Who cares who anyone wants to marry but the insults women receive is just too much, you would think they are saints themselves. Cos of some hungry ladies they met, they'll call all women Gold diggers, like it's silver some men dig and we don't have gold diggers in all Climes. Going through foreign forums, you would be surprised at how good some white men think of Black women- most esp those that have been in relationships wt them and few others claim not to act on their attraction cos they fear rejection, some also described their ladies as gold diggers. However in my personal opinion marry from the background you are used to. I am a Nigerian woman who wakes up everyday to make sure she's not dependent on anyone. I do not wait for manna to fall from heaven as I believe in hardwork no matter the stress associated with it. I'm not greedy. Whatever my needs are, I wait for Pay day when I must have put aside my savings and have settled my parents and siblings. I see a whole lot of ladies like myself who strive to be independent on a daily basis.

Recently, my man told me he wanted to start giving me monthly allowance and even asked me how much I wanted him to give me. That singular gesture albeit thoughtful and sweet of him to ask did not freak me out and that's because, I have not being raised to be dependent as I go through life.

It's an absolute insult on us to call the very hardworking Nigerian ladies gold diggers.
