Hlo. pls i no this is an old thread, but i need your advice. i scored 218 in this year jamb.(low for nursing) i was planing to change to Physiology when i came across this thread. it's quite saddening no one has said anything good about phy/anatonmy. this is my third time of writing jamb, am sure my parents will advise me to go for the phy if am eventually given. am quite confused now, because even if i decide to write nxt yr jamb, jamb might come up with a new policy dis year again. do those who studied (biology, anatonmy, phy, bch, mcb) suffers the same fate. besides, is there no hope for a physiology graduate here in Nigeria except he or she travel abroad? beside what course can some who studied SLT in poly be given when i obtain D.E form. beside did u eventually get a job with your degree in phy cc MakeQuickCash

Some of those courses you listed are actually better than the other. MCB is a very good course but please avoid anything anatomy and physiology. BCH has a very slight edge and as for biology education, its not that bad but its highly underated (understandably because of the euphoria that many of those who studied anything education end up being teachers and lecturers)

To be candid with you, if you want the best for yourself as far as this field is concerned, just travel out. There you will find a wide range of opportunities.

If you studied SLT at ND level then sorry is your name. Only an HND can save your skin.

Thanks am greatful. i better settle for mcb then. i just saw the thread on fp.a whole 11yrs. this country just keep going backward. Yet our government keep telling youths to believe in Nigeria.

I will advice you to carry on with your jamb score and write the postume for nursing, all u need is to study hard. if you want to change then change it to physiotherapy. am a student of nursing in uniben, dont give up just yet

I shake my head whenever I see agric students coughing out 50k to transfer to anatomy and physiology here in UNIBEN. they are running away from that stigma of been in faculty of agriculture where they would have easily graduated with 2.1 to college of medical sciences where your 2.2 isn't guaranteed. please except you are transferring to any professional course in BMS :nursing,mls,radiography or physiotherapy. kindly save yourself the stress it ain't worth it.

Hello miss.
MCB is the junior brother of anat/physio in terms of dissapointment.
My advice to you is to strive as much as is possible to secure an admission in courses where you can actually practice . most pure science courses are obsolete in the present nigerian economy.

Couses like mls, physiotherapy, nursing et al.
Do you know that as an mcb grad..you need a license from the mls council, before you can work in a hospital in nig... And the mls dudes prefer to give those licenses to their compartriots rather than mcb.

My point is dont because of i must go to school early, go and waste four years of your life only to come out and get riddled wit frustration..

My suggestions: 1.govt owned research centers should b established and BMS graduates should be employed to continously carry out and further research wks.research dat has to do with non living tins like satelite,nuclear,etc al av centers dat is govt sponsored but d govt can't av centers for research on human lives .Wat an irony

2.BMS graduates who wish to lecture should b employed as graduate assistants in d universities without askin them to do masters first..even doctors after 6yrs go in 4 housemanship and practice while t
furtherin their studies
3.BMS graduates should come togeda and form an NGO seek foriegn sponsors and start a defined program..tanx

My own candid advice for BMS graduates if they still want to work in the Medical line,apart from MBBS is to get a masters in one of these courses;

1) Medical Physics ( most lucrative)
2) Radiography
3) Biomedical engineering

Biomedical engineering and Radiography is open to BMS graduates,that I am sure of.
But for Medical Physics,I am not sure,but no harm in trying/inquiring.

Apart from these,any way is a way my brothers and sisters.
