Anyiogwu:Sure you want to school in NY? Anyways google is your friend. BTW you don't have to settle where you school...you can always relocate within the country after your studies. My advice-widen your options! I'm assuming you have control over where you intend to move to. |

Anyiogwu:All nursing schools accept everyone. What prereq courses have you taken in your undergrad? Do you have at least 5 out of these required prerequisites: A&P I and II wt lab, microbiology wt lab, bio wt lab, chemistry wt lab, nutrition, statistics, (in some schools + general and abnormal psychology and sociology)? If you don't, you'll have to start from the beginning as a freshman. Some schools won't take biological sciences (A&P, bio and micro) that's more than 5 years or from outside North America. This is also the requirement for the 18 months accelerated BSN. Both private or public nursing schools are good. Many who have had a degree before go for the accelerated option after doing these prereqs but you need to know that accelerated pathway is rigorous. |

imperiouxx:Thanks bro Yeah I understand, I will try to apply for the accelerated BSN to try it. I also had about (ADN) Associates diploma which from google, they said I can do it for 2 years and become an RN. Do you have an idea about this program, Do you suggest doing it first and then enrol for BSN after? |

akintundeerin:I had a similar issue like urs. Was told by the VO that I can demostrate my ties better in Nigeria. N that I stand a better chance there. Currently, booked an interview date in naija. Guess you should do the same. Try not to lie on ur DS160 cos it could be used against u. |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by akintundeerin: 5:57pm On Mar 17, 2016 |
Thanks so much for that. Im not going to lie. I finished my classwork already and gt my thesis left. I return back to my work immediately i get to naija because im just on study leave now. So i think i just need to make my ds160 status reflect that immediately |

Anyiogwu:Don't waste your time and money. Enroll in class in a community college or university as a non degree to get those prereqs done then apply for accelerated BSN in a nursing school. |

sureb0y:I understand your stand point but generally, that's the reason many present one school during interview. About the payment, there are some guys on this thread who in that. |

| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by imperiouxx(m): 8:40pm On Mar 17, 2016 |
femi321:It's sad that none of them gave you even half GA. Probably your course doesn't get enough allocation from the graduate school or you don't submit enough credentials or you applied late. Have you asked them why you didn't get anything? If not do so. They might promise you next semester which is a good news. |

femi321:What course? Your application is good but sometimes you get the GA decision after admission. Like I said, if you don't get it now, you will get it later but you have to press for it. |

imperiouxx:Civil Engineering (Structural Concentration). please how do I press for it? I dont want to look over desperate |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by imperiouxx(m): 3:23am On Mar 18, 2016 |
femi321:You have to ask them. In some schools you have to show you need the funding, else they assume you don't need it. GA of students that dont enrol in the school will be given to those that show need. By pressing I mean don't give up. |

If you applied to Calstate with your profile, you will be more than eligible for international full tuition waiver. Email the graduate admission coordinator/program coordinator of the schools that admitted you and tell them you are interested in funding/GA positions. or check ''student employment'' on the websites and you will def see funding opportunities. nowadays getting admission is not the ish, its funding that I think should be commended. Best! femi321: |

How are MENG programmes funded. I just got a decision from University of Cincinnati but I got an MENG admit! |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by imperiouxx(m): 12:58pm On Mar 18, 2016 |
Mekurexx:Yes the funding is as important as the admission. Students should always ask them if they feel they qualify for it. Asking for GA is not sign of desperation. The system is set up in a way that selected grad students should be funded from the funds allocated to the department. |
