I read somewhere in thier site-that you have to summit your original certificate (not statement) and that it will be sent back to you once the evaluation in done. Is that not risky if someone sent both his BS/MS cert for example. Just asking for those who have use it. I mailed them and they informed that they can evaluate without the certificate. |

You'll most likely apply as freshman. EE and Nursing are 2 different fields from each other with entirely differing backgrounds and course works. You may or may not write TOEFL/IELTS depending on the school English requirements for international students you're applying to. Some schools waive TOEFL for Nigerians, some don't. And since you say you're a US resident already, the English requirement may be waived for you, also depending on where you did your secondary school (if in the US) or if you can prove that you are fluent enough in the English language. I want to migrate to New york or South carolina, or Charlotte and I need Nursing schools from any of these two locations.
From experiences, which of these 3 states will be better for me as new immigrant to live and study and then base there permanently? Sure you want to school in NY? Anyways google is your friend. BTW you don't have to settle where you school...you can always relocate within the country after your studies. My advice-widen your options! This is also the requirement for the 18 months accelerated BSN. Both private or public nursing schools are good. My name is Tunde,Im currently doing a Master degree in Business Administration in one of the Universities in Ankara, Turkey. I just completed my class work and about to start my thesis.I intend to focus on Human Resources Management aspect of Business Administration and currently admitted for a certificate program in Human resources management at the University of California. The certificate program is a practical program that runs for nine month.
I scheduled an interview here in Turkey and so bad was denied the visa on the ground of no strong family ties.
I was working as an Assistant Manager coordinating my dads filling stations before coming here for my masters. The Visa Officer gave the reason for the denial as no strong ties here or in naija.
Somebody suggested i return back home to naija to try the application again and change my status on the d 160 form from studying to working.
Please I need guidance I had a similar issue like urs. Was told by the VO that I can demostrate my ties better in Nigeria. N that I stand a better chance there. Currently, booked an interview date in naija. Guess you should do the same. Try not to lie on ur DS160 cos it could be used against u. |

Yea you can once you have your SEVIS number. If you don't have your SEVIS number yet, you can request for it by email from the international student office of your school. And make sure you book a date giving enough room to accommodate the arrival of your I-20 as you will need the document for your visa interview. thanks so much bigfrancis |

All of you with funding (GA/RA/TA), please how did you people do it? I am getting frustrated and Sad..I have gotten 4 positive admision decision (Accepted) now but no funding yet..the funny part is I applied to 6 schools...still waiting on 2 decisions though..please I need advice fast |

Your application is good but sometimes you get the GA decision after admission. Like I said, if you don't get it now, you will get it later but you have to press for it. |

In some schools you have to show you need the funding, else they assume you don't need it. GA of students that dont enrol in the school will be given to those that show need. If you applied to Calstate with your profile, you will be more than eligible for international full tuition waiver. Email the graduate admission coordinator/program coordinator of the schools that admitted you and tell them you are interested in funding/GA positions. or check ''student employment'' on the websites and you will def see funding opportunities. nowadays getting admission is not the ish, its funding that I think should be commended.
