dear house

I need your opinion on my next uk application pls

in 2011 Oct i applied for a tourist visa as a student but was refused based unsatisfactory evidence on how my fees is funded in school
in 2013 May i applied again to attend a friends graduation in the University of Sunderland. the results was negative and these were the reasons
: the ECO made reference to my first application in which i stated i did not have any dependent children and in now in 2013 i say i have

She said due to the discrepancy between my previous application and now she cannot grant me the visa :NB THE MEANING OF DEPENDENT TO MY UNDERSTANDING IS " a person who relies on another, especially a family member, for financial support."

My son was in the custody of my mom back then since i was still having my bachelors

fast forward i currently have travel experience of been to the US with a J1 visa ,Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, France, India and a couple of African countries . i currently hold a valid US visa of five years .

i run my own company now and the current president of a charity foundation

i would like to apply again and spend just a week in the uk before i head to the US come June ..

basic documents i know i have :

company reg
tax clearance
business invoices
business contracts
business bank statement
personal bank statement
travel itinerary
hotel reservation
my sons birth certificate
tour reservation
filled application forms
passports

kindly help me out in explaining the discrepancies in my 2011 application and the 2013 application

Good Morning house.
I need your advice on a UK application dilemma
1. My friend applied for a Visa in 2011 as a first timer for a 5 day training in UK, he was refused, and the reason was that the company offering the training was not registered with the UKTI.

2. he applied AGAIN IN 2012 as a tourist this time thru an agent and he was refused again, the ECO Claimed that he applied with a false national passport, meanwhile it is the same passport he applied with the first time that he used the second time, however the agent did not return his passport, he claimed that the embassy seized it.

Now he has gotten a new passport and have been to SA with it, he wants to apply again, how can he address the issue on ground, he needs to go for another training in UK, pls help
I will so appreciate your contribution on addressing the issues raised in the 2011 application and the 2012 application

thank you

Ok fine, in that case he needs to prepare his application properly by getting two important letters..one from his employer and the other one from the training provider in the UK.

His employer needs to indicate their willingness to allow him go for the training and state clearly that he will be coming back to his job and the training provider in the UK need to state the details of the training and time scale.

He needs to use oanda.com to convert 2months of his salary to £ and budget on that.

Budget on flight ticket and hotel accommodation have to be accurate and not guessed because the embassy can easily verify those.

That is what you need to elaborate in your next application..that is your understanding of dependent and the reason why you misunderstood that question, basically your mum was responsible for your child at that time as you are still a student.

Though dependence is not just about money, emotional support counts as well

Hello house. I was previously denied based on my financial circumstance. Myy question now is can I build my account by not touching my salary @ all say 3 or 4 months salary. This is because I work with state govt where salary is not paid regularly, such that if I say I want to save for 6months, I might not be able to raise enough money for my account.

Do you have any other source of income apart from your salary?

You are likely to be denied for the same reason . Why not build your account for the next three months and then apply

My friend went to submit his application today at the VFS centre in VI.... He said a lot of people were not smiling after opening their parcel.. that some people couldn't even sabi which way to take back home cos of the refusal. That lots of people were refused because of lodgements... A man said he remitted a total 1.2M in his account within 3 months and the ECO referred to the lodgements and was refused, Another lady said her uncle who works in a bank boosted the account for her and still got refused. In a nutshell... all these oyinbo ECO don wise, lodging some money into ur account few days, weeks or months prior submission ain't working anymore like before.

@justwise i'm new to comment here but i've closely followed the instructions, suggestions and submissions. Thus while applying for my UK visit visa I carefully studied the provisions and advice you and so many others highlighted and worked accordingly. I'm thus miffed by the decisions of the UK ECO. On the issue of visiting my friend: It is clearly stated on my form and in my invitation letter that my host is my cousin. On the issue of ties to Nigeria I submitted my marriage certificate, birth certificates of my kids. Etc . I also submitted my bank statements with a covering letter to explain the monies deposited and land purchase duplicate receipts to show proof of authenticity. The skye bank account is also my salary account reflecting more than the money required for my trip over a period of 6months. There was no lumping as the funds available and remitted were from land sales. There was also no reference to my sponsor in anyway despite the fact that I submitted original documents of her job appointment, statements of account, payslips, letter of invitation passport page(british citizen) earning of over £90k as a medical doctor etc. I am confused I need your advice. I still don't understand why my sponsor documents were not mentioned at all and d grounds for refusal are totally incomprehensible. That's why I need your help to help me understand.

Thanks for your response @kennycanny. What then do I need to do? How do I proceed in rectifying this problem? Do I need additional documentation? If yes what? Do I reapply? Or what exactly must be done?

The ECO's decision was focused on your salary and the amount you budgeted for the trip which is far more than you earn in 2months, money from the property was not seen as a viable source of income hence the focus on your salary.

I sincerely don't know. because with what you wrote earlier I don't see y u should not be given. when I applied and got granted, I was single , with a relatively low salary. what I guess was a factor that helped me was it was my sibling that invited me.

on some occasions, the person that invited you records matters. has the people she invited in the past abide by d rule.

You can give it a trial again after some time.

Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. In my application I stated that the total personal cost of my trip to the uk is 600 and that is the money estimated by me for the trip that covers my ticket and miscellaneous expenditure. I didn't expect the ECO to calculate my ticket and cost of trip together since my sponsor clearly stated that she'd be funding my expenses while in the UK. Anyway if you say that's sufficient reason for refusal I accept. What then should be my next line of action? What do I need to do judging from the ECO's decision. I need your advice on how to proceed pls.

Thanks a lot for your prompt response it's highly appreciated. My sponsor has being in the UK for 16yrs and the only person she ever invited to the UK is her husband who is also now a british citizen and that was 13yrs ago. Since then she hasn't invited anyone. I just feel my ECO had too much Burukutu and palm wine before attending to my application, it's just unfortunate there's no administrative review. All the same thanks a lot I cherish the advice. If there's any other infor you'd like to share pls feel free. I just don't know what to do next. That's d only problem I have.

If the pharmacy is registered and tax is paid from the gross profit then you can include it as your second source of income

Another thing u should look into if u were not careful about it earlier. Let the person inviting you state it clear that she ll b responsible for your feeding and accommodation ( if her house has extra space for you) and other normal expenses you may incure while you are there. so when filling money budgeted for the trip, you ll just put money that can take of the flight ticket, and little shopping. say like 180k . The ll tactically show that u can conveniently afford the trip , than putting a high budget that ll show big strain on your income/ account.
