But do u guys know dat rivers was peaceful till Wike became a Minister, Rivers was calm until Amaechi decided to nominate Wike as a Minister and Wike back-stabbed Amaechi. And Amaechi new GEJ was making mistakes which led to GEJ loosing his re-election, Ameachi did his best to inform GEJ about his mistakes but pple like Wike decieved GEJ. Amaechi had to move on.
Again former Minister of Sport Bolaji was nominated by Saraki and cos he sticked to Saraki during d quarel of 5govs. GEJ had to sack him and den Bolaji was doing fine as d sport minister.
Dats how to tell u how Loyalty works.

Were Amaechi and Wike contesting for any legislative post on Saturday?

What happened in Rivers State has nothing to do with salaries of Legislators rather it was a clash of power between APC with their Federal might and PDP supported by the populace.
It does, if d salary is unattractive, AL dis greedy n selfish polithiefian and legislathieves won't c it as do or die affair

sure. Also Wike is trying to avoid being impeeched because if APC takes over river HoA Wike is a gonner.
And PDP needs all the senate & HoR to improve their number at both chembers.

And APC really needs River state after losing Akwaibom state... IGR things...
With Wike there as governor, nothing for them.

INEC under Buhari is nothing to write home about. Buhari is a disastrous failure.

He has successfully killed the gains and legacies left behind by Jonathan. What a failure buhari is.

2early to conclude. I'm not a fan of buhari but its 2 early to score him.

At least everybody now knows Buhari was, is and will always be empty.
So tomorrow, nobody will come and say the man would have rescued Nigeria if voted into power.

He will forever be remembered as the Nigerian president with the enviable record of failing as a military dictator and also failing as a democratic president.

I think you are wrong here. We make a lot of mistakes to blame the president for circumstances we create ourselves. The president did not create the chaos in rivers state. In fact rivers people were responsible for the chaos in their state. What I am baffled about is the failure of the police and other security agencies in arresting perpetrators and chief sponsors of the violence.

The president is not going to do that or suppose to do arrest criminals. Security agencies are suppose to do their jobs.

Buhari manipulated INEC cant conduct a peaceful election in just one state out of 36states of the federation. SHAMEEEEE. GEJ did it successfully, OBJ didn't smoothly. why can't the power drunk APC leave Rivers and her people alone. this is the most bloody election Nigeria has ever witnessed since 1999. SHAMMEEEE.

The first few posts on this thread obviously came from people that have Agidi sold at 9th Mile Enugu for brains.

The gentleman is asking very critical question about the take home of our legislooters and what would become of them and our electoral process if we stopped treating and paying them like Kings. But of course we don't expect such idiots to understand the core of the issue raised.

Hatred has already corrupted and polluted their brains beyond redemption.

I stay in river state n to avoid lying. up to 40 persons v died just cos of ordinary house of assembly election. hmmmmm.. where did we keep our brains??

Did he fail as a military dictator? How old were you then? Now has he failed as a civilian president? For how long has he been president? Objectivity needed urgently.

Its becoming (shake head sadly) to read some posts on nairaland.

Some people's vocabulary only consists of insults. Constructive criticism? No way let's just abuse the person.

Given the constitution, the president might not be able to reduce legislator's entitlement. But will Nigerians themselves stand up for themselves? We have might in numbers, labour unions etc. WILL U JOIN THE FIGHT.

***By the way, for my mind I believe its the families of the looters that have been actively abusing the president without cause.

i ve not asked whether they want to dislodge Wike or not. I only asked a vital question that you could have just answered and even pause to think but see how u added insults to it. Is it that some of you cannot hide ur poor upbringing? What has warranted insults in my humble question?
