What's the dilenma about? The generation and distribution chain has been privatized, Transimission chain which is the weakest link, it the one still held by govt! So even if we can generate 100,000Mw our current transmission lines cannot transmit more than 6,000mw.
Also, we should stop comparing power privatization to that of telecoms. Here, the price of electricity is under the power of NERC. So ivestors will be careful not to Invest so much, coz they can't influence price unlike how MTN,GLO and the rest had done

LordAdam:
Sharrap!

When the power improved in the first few months of this administration, who benefited? Was it not the public?

The major problem now is generation and the generation part of the electricity company is still majorly run by the government except for a few gencos like Shiroro dam. So, ask Buhari and Fashola why the cannot generate enough power for the discos to distribute.

Jor shift. People dey discuss power problem, you carry yourself kon sitdon for thread.

The fact is I wouldn't be concerned if you existed or not. My only problem is the absolute heresy you call an opinion. I do not go to art section because I do not know sh*t about Arts. If you have little or no understanding about a subject, there is no harm in keeping your mouth.

You mustn't display your ignorance because you think you have an opinion that sounds right in your head.

Worse off, you got to make a vote on an election that affects Nigerians based on fallacy. That you fail to see the weight of your irresponsible decision is beyond me.

Eediot, Ondo state esp. Ondo town do enjoy close to 12 hrs of light before the stup!d privatisation.
Now, if we have just 4hrs of light, we should be happy. As a matter of fact, the epileptic light started the moment it was privatised.
Abeg swerve! Yeye loser!

Was your relation one of the incompetent idiots that was sacked when PHCN was unbundled?

Pained enemy of progress!!!

Ask Buhari to stop privatization now? Both *** and Buhari are dullards. If you are asked to provide a solution now, you would start spinning tales by moonlight?

Murder of English. You are in a dilemma and you have concluded that you would complete the privatization process.

Must you guys always look for an avenue to antagonize GEJ's government, even though you guys are running the country based on GEJ's presets?

Privatization of PHCN company only can not solve this dismay situation on ground. What is guess is that people at d top an also in dis so called distribution company should b willing to work wholeheartedly, complete devotion to there work. How can Nigeria as a country b struggling to get 4000MG, while south africa is having 40000MG. It thing PHCE an our leaders knws wat rite to do dey knw wat to do.

One fact the president must know is that the deficiency in the power sector is what a lot of so-called billionaires feed off. All the mast (thousands) located nationwide run on diesel, which is provided by the oil marketers. The generator importers (heavy duty and i better pass my neighbor generators) are also beneficiaries of these power deficiencies.

He better allow the system to play on cause the economy he try to reposition is now in a big mess, if he allows the system to play off it will be the first time he did not dictate for his minister.

I sat through a seminar by an authority in power generation today and he said Nigeria's power problem could be solved in 12 months using the right means which is different from what is currently on ground. He said if only 1% of Nigeria's land mass was used as solar farms, we can generate up to 1,400,000 Mega watts of electricity from that alone. That is more than 30 times the power we need. He said that every local government should have a local power generating and distribution company so that power cut in one area will not mean the same in another area. That we should have multiple power sources which is Plan A, B, C, D as the case may be so that if one fails there will always be alternative. He said the present system is doomed to remain a failure until the right things are done. Below are some of the slides
