I work with an NGO and we are series of trainings lined up for the year all in London.

One of the trainings will come up April,another in May and last one sometimes October.

Some of the attendees had travelled to the UK before. For others, it will be their first training in the UK.

Please how do we go about this? In terms of applications, flights and hotels booking?

As it currently says is on BETA: This is the new UK visa application website. We are testing it. It is designed to make the application process simpler and clearer. Also forum see the screen grab attached.

Meaning there are no options to apply for uk visa at the moment. Any information regarding this issue will be helpful

It's working perfectly.

From https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome, click on "Register an Account" to proceed. It's a very straightforward process.

Please, for someone who wants to invite another to the UK ( a friend). Just 2 weeks visit. The person in the UK is a student and wants to invite his friend over for a 2-week stay. , what's the best way to go about it? what kinda visa is best suitable. Also, what are the requirements?

I've done some internet search but none seems to cater for this particular scenario, from the results I've gotten thus far.

Your friend will need to show that the accommodation is suitable and that they have permission to have you there.
It might be simpler to apply using hotel booking for one or two days.

Hello Justwise, frontpage, worry, iblaw and others, just want to keep you posted about my friends application that was submitted on Friday at the VFS centre in V.I. On Monday morning he got an email that sheffield received the application, Today my friends mother called to inform him that sheffield called her to ask her some questions like - If she's expecting anyone? His name, DOB, where he works, If he is married, any child, name of his grandchild, who is paying for the ticket, when she's expecting him, date, how many days he is gonna be staying and her address in london.
What's your view about these Bro's...

Ok it was not clear who was where.
If you are trying to use school accommodation you will have to show that you have permission.
So hotel might be better for the visa application.

my 2 years visa (uk) expired few months back. I want to renew to a 5yrs visa but then i found out about the 10yrs visa. just thinking if i should go for that instead. Do you know if the length of years makes the screening process tougher?

Thank you all for the good work.

I am applying for a business visit visa to write a professional exam. However, the exam body which is based in the US but with an exam center in London does not provide letter of invitation.

What is your advise? I earn above 1,000 pounds monthly and already incurred most of my travelling cost (Hotel and Flight) when exchange rate was better, which means my only cost of this travel is living expenses.

Account balance is just above 1 million.

Your advise please??.

If your friends mum answered all questions correctly in line with the visa application...mostly likely visa will be issued.

thanks for all the wonderful info on the thread. Quick question please. I need to pay the tier 2 visa application fees as well as the IHS for my 2 kids, spouse and i. This amounts to £4700. I have been told by my bank that i can't use my naira master card for that transaction. What other alternative means of payment do i have?
Note: i do not have a dollar card.

I need your candid opinion on a burning issue which has been troubling me for some time now. I am really ashamed and remorseful of my actions, it was just the situation I found myself. I was once a footballer and once had an opportunity to travel to Europe for my footballing career but this did not work out as planned. I got a passport for this purpose where I did not use my real age, as advised by my coach and agent. I later dropped football and went back to school. Now I am done with my first degree and I intend going abroad for my masters degree. The old passport with my false age expired and I proceeded to the NIS office where I met an Immigration officer who assisted me and got me another passport after I did the Biometrics. I actually paid him 100k for this. I really don't know if it was renewal or re-issue he did but this new passport has my real age and name which tally with my academic documents. The new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page. Now my question is, with the old number available on the passport, will the embassy verify and compare the information on the new and old passports?

You would have to prove that you frequently travel to get this. Bare in mind that the visa class you are applying for costs over 200k.

And not only can they refuse you they could also choose to give you a lower duration e.g 6months.

Consider applying for a pounds/dollar card or
Ask someone in the UK to pay for you using their card and refund them in pounds

Buy pounds put in dorm account do bank transfer to that persons account or pay them when you get there.

If you are in the UK on a student visa then I'm sure you are familiar with this

Follow it and you would know what visa to apply for and documents expected.

Besides since you are not the applicant the burden of funds is not yours. So send invitation letter showing your status in the Uk as a student(your school, current year when you finish etc)

The rest is for the applicant not you, its the applicant that has to show that he can afford the trip and will return.

If some of the attendees have traveled to the UK before for the training then all the info you need will come from your HR depart or those who have gone before, they should be able to tell you about documents your NGO gave them and documents from the training provider from the UK
