"It's actually a very cool evening here in lagos, heavy traffic everywhere as usual but as a true lagosian we can not complain about it. Before I leave you in the hands of our DJ to give you some cool musics that will help you through the traffic, I will like to give you the announcement about the Genius Royal Academy Class of 2010 Reunion party that will commence on Thursday 12th of August and last through till Sunday 15th of August, Venue is still unknown but every member of that class of 2010 interested in the trip should be at the airport by 5pm on the said date. Some anonymous members of the class have footed the bills for tickets and all, hnmm how I wish I was a member of that class meenh, I will surely go and rock this awuf offer even though I am aware that awuf dey run belle but as fate will have it I was in the class of 2011, still the same Genius royal academy though, so proud of my alma mata.. Up school.. Up G.r.a ... Pardon me people, I have to leave you now to enjoy cool music from the popular Dj Lee... "So girl, have you made up your mind about the Reunion trip yet" Dora asked her friend seating next to her on the passenger's seat.

"Not really o, I really don't think I have a whole weekend to spare just on some meaningless Reunion stuff and moreover we still don't know where the location is, what about you?" Khadijat replied still looking into her Ipad and occasionally glancing forward to see if the traffic has cleared.

"Haa me I dey go oo, I wan go enjoy the whole weekend to myself and hook up with my long time pals, it's gone be real fun mennh because definitely the location no fit pass Naija here" Dora

"You won't understand joor, thank God this traffic has cleared at last" Said Khadijat as she dropped her Ipad and focused on the steering.

Dora who suddenly got occupied with her phone kept mute throughout the ride, the only sound you could hear is the music from the same car stereo from which the announcement was being made earlier on. The Dj sure knew the kind of songs that are suitable for moments like that, the first song he played was Wondering Love by Simi and presently now playing Immaculate by Kingbea. Both Dora and Khadijat were obviously enjoying the music as they were shaking their heads to the impeccable sounds from the Beautiful and Sensational Kingbea.







(....Same day ......17:59)


"Madam abeg give me a bottle of Guinness" Said a man who just entered the bar.

"Okay I dey come" a voice shouted back in reply from an inner room in the bar.

The bar looks relatively affordable and not really sophisticated which makes people wonder why it is one of the most patronised bar around the neighbourhood where many beautiful and sophisticated pubs are located, there's only one answer, nobody does the Cat fish pepper soup better than Madam Maggie. On a peak selling night, the bar might contain more than a hundred people especially if it's a night when a football match between two great teams is been aired but right now the bar is only a handful.

"Haahaa Ogaa Hose, how work na" Madam Maggie asked cheerfully as she placed the guiness bottle down carefully.

"Madam we thank God jaare" Hose replied with the same cheerful tone.

They both talked and laughed for a while and then Madam Maggie returned back to whatever she was doing in the inner room. Hose kept on sipping his drink as slowly as slow could be, he believes in the philosophy that the slower you gulp your drink, the more you enjoy it. He kept his eyes on the tv where a match is been displayed, each time he sees a black dude on the soccer field, it always reminds him of his childhood dream of being a footballer. He was indeed a very skilful player back then, he tried all his best to pursue the football career but all his efforts yielded no positive result. Thank God he hadn't dropped out of university back then else he wouldn't have been the successful architect that he is now. He's still focused on the match he was watching until he felt some sensational moves on his laps, he was marvelled at what might have caused the vibration, then he realised It's his phone ringing, he clicked on the Green button after bringing the phone out of his pocket and checking for the caller's ID.


"Hello Brotherly" He spoke softly.

"How is it bruh" The voice on the other end of the line spoke back.

"Am good man, how your side"

"All sharp man, is everything still going on according to plan as regards the Reunion ?"

"Yeah Brotherly, those guys cant even fathom how much we have in stock for them"

"They will never know what's about to hit them" the voice said laughing out loud.

Hose laughed back and the call was disconnected, he kept on smiling even minutes after the call was terminated.







(..Thursday 12TH OF AUGUST ...15:45)


"I thought we all agreed to meet here, so why is everyone not here yet" Ezra said as she tags along with Moses, they both walked into the eatery where they all agreed to meet before they all move to the airport together.

"Maybe the late coming spirit is still embedded in all of em" Hose joked and they both laughed at the joke.

Ezra and Hose have always been involved together ever since high school, nobody really knew for sure what has always been between them, they both claimed that its because they had the same surname which is 'Daniels', that is why they are fond of each other but there were unfounded rumours then that they were dating but no one was hundred percent sure, if only Adunola had begun her aproko gist back then, she might have been able to give us the full gist. Who could have guessed that Adunola who was one of the most serious student then will be the owner of the popular Aayaoba's blog which is known for always leaking the secrets of our so called celebrities and also one of the most successful Blog after Bellanaija and Lindaikeji's blog.


"Who could have thought that you notorious Hose of those days would turn out to be an architect now" Ezra teased as she sips the chapman that she ordered for while Hose was gulping his signatory drink Guinness.

"And who could have thought that you, always fighting Ezra would turn out to be an Actress now" Hose teased back.

"Speaking of acting, how often do you meet with Khadijat since both of you are in the movie industry" he contd.

"That one, she has now gone fully into modelling so I hardly see her on any set, on the contrary it's me and Dora that we do get to see each other more often" she replied.

"Dora is really making waves and name for herself these days though but why would Khadijat venture into modelling fully when she is already an household name in the movie industry" Moses.

"I have no idea but I think it's because she sees how successful Rofiat has become in the modelling world, you know those girls have always been rivals ever since high school" Ezra

"Now that all of you are venturing into the entertainment world, maybe I should consider joining too, am sure Brian will show me the way" Hose said and Ezra was about to reply but was cut short by the ringing tone from Hose's phone.

"Speak of the devil" he whispered before taking the call.


"Brian, how far na". Hose

"Guy nawa to you oo, we don dey board now, wey you dey".

"What do you mean, I thought we all agreed to meet up at the Eatery close to the Airport.

"Didn't they send you another text message, there has been a change in plan na".

"Okay we will be there in a jiffy"

"We? You and who? Brian asked but Hose didn't bother replying him before disconnecting the call.

In a speed of light, they rode to the airport, parked the car and quickly settled who ever was meant to be settled to keep an eye on his car till they returned from the trip. With the same speed of light, they got on board of an almost filled plane, filled with their ex mates but there was no time to exchange pleasantries as they were been ordered to fasten their seat belts. There was a deafening silence afterwards until after the plane had totally taken off and the captain broke the silence.




"Ladies and gentlemen, I want to welcome you to Flight 05 bound for Calabar. Our flight time today is 1 hour 10 minutes and we will be flying at an average altitude of 29,000 feet. The local time is 17:30, and the current weather is sunny, but there is a chance of rain later in the day.
On behalf of Royal Airlines and the crew, I want to wish you an enjoyable Weekend getaway Reunion , please sit back and enjoy the flight. Ohh and did I remember to tell you that I am Captain Sola Omisore" the captain spoke and waited till the hailing and wailing reduced a bit.

"You all can take of your seat belts now and move around freely, I go catch up with una later" he concluded.

As soon as he was done talking, every one were on their feet greeting and exchanging pleasantries, it's nice to meet again after all these years that has gone by, they couldn't wait to get to their destination to have the time of their lives, little did they know what awaits them. If only they could peep into the future, they would have begged the Pilot who happens to be their ex class mate also to make an emergency landing.

(....Friday 13th of August .....7:18)



Sounds of a jingling bell rocked the hotel where the whole ex classmates that came on the trip were staying for the weekend, some of them were still sleeping, some were done bathing. Immediately they heard the bells ringing, they all rushed downstairs only to find out that it was Brian that was jingling the bell.

"So if I no ring bell, una for no wake up abi" Brian said as he was laughing at the look on all of their faces.

"Brian, why did you decide to just bring all of us down here like this" Sayo asked with a very fierce look.

For a moment, Brian was taken down memory lane, back when he and Sayo used to be the best couple in high school, they really loved each other, at least he's sure that he loved her and for some reasons, he still thinks he loves her. He hasn't been able to find someone like her ever since they broke up. He still carries the guilt of the abrupt end of their relationship, if he had just stayed on only her, if he hadn't gotten involved with Shirley who was his one year junior in school, he wouldn't have lost Sayo like that.

"For morning prayers" he replied when he realised that they were all beginning to give him a bad look.

"And what about us the Muslims?" Rofiat asked.

"Okay Okay, it's just gonna be a short prayer, moreover we are not here to sleep, we are here to chill with each so after the prayer, we gon do some catching up" Brian.

"True tho, we are not here to sleep. Let's do the prayer first then we catch up just like Brian said" Sola cuts in.

They all got themselves seated on the cushions arranged in what looks like the Reception of the hotel, it is actually the reception but has been arranged into a lounge just so it could be conducive for the purpose of the reunion . The hotel is located at the outskirts of the city, it is a very big hotel with different facilities such as an Olympic size swimming pool, a mini football field, lawn tennis court and so on. It's the only building around the geographical location which makes it so isolated but the facilities surrounding it wouldn't allow you notice how isolated it is, the workers of the hotel were all instructed not to come to work until the reunion 's over so as to give the guys enough privacy.

"Amen" They all chorused after the short prayer rendered by Ezra

"Okay, so let us all remind each other of our names owing to the fact that me personally I don forget most of una names and also tell us what you are into now" Brian said and laughed at what he just said, they all laughed.

"I will go first then, I am Brian Laicett, and I am now a musician, am sure some of y'all have heard couple of my songs" He said and sat down laughing because he's sure none of em doesn't know that he is one of the top Nigerian musician of the moment.

"Okay, I am Dara Olaiya, a Nollywood actress....

"I am Captain Sola Omisore, the pilot that brought yo asses here" Sola Joked and they all laughed.

"I am Hose Daniels, an architect, very cheap and affordable to consult so if any of you should need my service, feel free to contact me on 08071150" Hose was about to call out his number but was pulled back by Ezra that's sitting beside him, they all laughed again.

It's really becoming an interesting reunion just like most of them envisioned it.
"I am Ezra Daniels, also a nollywood actress"..

"I am Adunola Abiola, the popular aproko C.e.o of Aayaoba's blog" ...

"I am Rofiat Dabba, a professional model"...

"I am Sayo Adewole, a business woman"....

"I am Khadijat Williams, a professional model and a nollywood actress....



All of them in the room were done introducing themselves and Brian was about to bring on the next thing on his to-do list but was cut short by the deep voice they heard at the entrance.

"I am Isaiah Umede, an unemployed graduate" the voice said.

They all turned towards the door where the voice came from, they were all surprised to see the least person they expected to turn up for the reunion , after what took like forever, they all rushed to welcome him with hugs and kisses, all of them except Hose, Sola and Brian.

"Won't you guys come and greet your partner in crime" Rofiat asked the boys when she realised they were still on their seats.

"We have met before" Isaiah replied.

"Met before? Where and how? How long have you been in the country?" Adunola rained questions.

"Slow down woman" Isaiah replied smiling.

"I have been in the country for some weeks now, Sola, Hose, Brian and myself had all these planned out" he added.

"Really?" Adunola asked again.

"Whose money did you guys think we used to plan all these things" Hose asked no one in particular.

"Dem think say na der boyfriends money we take do am na" Brian replied but before he could finish the sentence, all the girl rushed to where he was but he was swift enough to run upstairs.





(Same day ......20:45)

After having a fun filled day, they were all seated in the lounge again enjoying their last meal of the day prepared by the girls, most of the time while the meals were being prepared, the boys were outside playing soccer and lawn tennis. After their morning meal the girls joined them to swim in the pool and they had a lot of general discussions ranging from their days in high school, their other class mates that couldn't make the trip, their school teachers and all, It was indeed a very fun filled day.

They continued their gist after having dinner and when it got really late, they all went into their different rooms one after another.





(....Same day......22:19)


The hotel was relatively quiet, peace and tranquillity could be felt all over but suddenly there was a noise. They were all starting to sleep when they all heard someone screaming, they all rushed out of their rooms to where the Screaming was coming from, it was from Adunola's room. Sola barged into the room and the rest of em followed him.

"Adunola what is wrong" Sola asked as he lifts her head and placed it on his muscular arms.

"I actually just remembered that today is Friday da 13th" Adunola replied trembling in fear.

They all laughed at what she said.

"That thing about friday da 13th is just totally fictitious dear" Said Sayo.

"To me, its not. You guys can laugh all you want but am not sleeping alone tonight" Adunola snapped

"Okay it's fine, I will sleep here with her for the night" Sola said

"Nawa oo, see as you dey fear Friday da 13th wey e be say na inside movie e dey happen" Brian joked

"I just hope I am not the one staying in room 13 oo" Said Khadijat .

"Not you oo my dear, I am the one in room 13 and now am scared too o" Sayo joked too

They all said their goodbyes and left for their different rooms leaving Sola in Adunola's room.

All of them were deeply asleep but they were all disturbed, someone screamed again, this time a very loud one that almost brought down the building.
