Are you really sure you're introverted or ??
Re: Sacked Today For Being 'too Introverted', Unfair? by Acidosis(m): 5:14am On Mar 25, 2016
There is nothing you can do about your temperament. I'm equally an introvert, the only thing is that my introversion is meeting my basic needs, and in my introversion, I've learnt to interact more, and I've equally picked some interesting Topics.

If I work in an environment where all they talk about is Kim, Olamide, Chelsea, Man U, Nairabet, or the latest Movie in town, I would equally sit like a 'Dundee,' but you can't talk National Politics, Local or International Business, Christianity, Family or Money and watch me keep my calm.

Do not allow the insults get to you, I would probably 'cry my eyes out' if such insult was melted at me at 16 (same year I wrote JAMB), but I've somewhat overgrown that timid nature. By engaging in more tasking duties in Church and School, I learnt to interact more, face units of people, and I learnt how to make money.

You never can tell what will work best for you, so start dancing in church, weddings, respond to questions in your Sunday School, class, and continue to build your PERSONAL skills. Building yourself and your PERSONAL skills would make you have what others don't have, that way, people would come for you regardless of your temperament.

I attended an interview in 2015, and the MD gave an unusual test, we (about 9) were told to argue about a trending topic (in politics). Mind you, he needed only one person with the loudest voice. Immediately I heard the criteria, I knew I was going to fail. Arguments started, everyone talked convincingly, but according to him, we all didn't meet his expectations. At that point, I didn't feel bad because my presence at first wasn't about the money or experience, but to test my CV in the marketplace. It was a sales rep job that I'm certain won't get me half of my earnings by being ME.

I attended another interview 2015, and I was employed on the basis that I spoke intelligently, not loudly, with less emphasis on my documents/cv. I eventually sacked myself 3 days after resumption to attend to my business that pays me even more. I was remorseful about it and I gave my employers and colleagues reasons I had to leave (not pride).

You see, while trying to build yourself, do not do that because you want to impress anyone. I'm still growing but it will take a very brave employer to throw insults at me today. In fact, I won't wait for him/her to do such before I drop my resignation letter, because I BELIEVE in myself. I WAS something before I came to seek for a job, without the job, I would still be SOMETHING.

You can be brave and still be an introvert. All the best bro!

Introverts are irritating in a work enviroment where a lot of communication is necessary.

I worked with one. It was terrible.

If I may ask, what kind of work environment would require a lot of communication? Do you guys talk more than Maupe Ogun or Cyril Stober?

The truth is that ur introverted personality makes u look like doondi in a fast pace work place..

Secondly, ur mistakes sends the signal that u re dull which u Might not be.

Thirdly, working in an environment where inter-personal skill is required won't be ideal for your personality.

I once had a colleague like you, his dondiness made me like him cous I controlled him nd could use him to commit.
The management managed him cous they believed him coming from Badagry to apapa everyday made him dull until he got transferred to another branch were he started his 1st day with query.
Rather than encourage this young man, you also contributed in puncturing his ego. Worse is that you were first to comment, while a bunch of bang-wagon-followers clicked LIKE.

As far as I am concerned, this is a very intelligent chap. Being in a work environment for the first time, he needed encouragement from his boss--and people like you. I like to work with this kind of people, not because I want to use them (like you said you and your boss did), but people I will transform them into real assets for themselves and the nation. I have done that to a whole lot of people, who are today graduates of class and some, managers of repute.

If I were you, i would apologise for typing this!

I am not here to type what will please any man, If I type as I am being led nd it's another man's headache let him get himself a panadol..

I never disputed him being an intelligent chap but I ve come across his type nd one thing I know is that they tend to be dull in a job that requires a bit of labour.

I Would ve given u a story about one of my neighbor who home schooled one of the Nigerians Automobile Mogul, a Think tank, very resourceful but his greatest undoing is that very dull personality..
A man who was used when the going is tough nd he paves way but being proactive to his environment messed him up that he was booted like a kid..

I recently took on a job, about few days ago (less than two weeks), as a office assistant/ Computer operator at an office located at Ojudu Berger. This is partly because I had just finished the just concluded Jamb utme examination and I was less-busy at home and I needed to develop work ethics and gain professional experiences that would be vital in future. There are TONs of stuff you have to learn while being in this position & I was doing great making photocopies, taking passports, and even helping out in typying. When we are less busy, My boss comes for a chat with my co-workers﹑ which they eagerly and actively participate but I don't. Not because I do not like my Boss or I'm avoidant, but I prefer being at peace with my thought and value my personal space. Then I noticed after few days, Her behaviour and mood towards me changed for the worse as she shouts at me and insults me if i make mistakes, Ofcourse, That's not a problem, but the hurtful part is she hurls insult on my personality. She says to me "You stand there like mumu'', 'Dondie'', 'Lookie lookie like deaf and dumb' e.t.c .
But today at work, I made a mistake with taking a passport photograph due to the fact that the pressure was much coupled with the over-crowded enivironment. She instantly got annoyed and said she can't tolerate a dull and mumu person and that I'm too dull. She said I should leave.

I was pissed because I had not been given a chance to learn everything needed to know Yet. I think this was really unfair since I was not even given a chance to improve. She said blame me for being an "observer", but she had to let me go.

I'm not sad this happen but this had triggered my incentiveness and challenged me the more. I'm even courting an idea of developing a start-up.
I will strongly believe you're a big mumu or the dundee she calls you if you left without collecting your two weeks salary which you worked for.

You deserve your pay!

From your previous posts and topics I assume you're enlightened to know some job roles require constant verbal feedback.

In a creative enviroment, you need to elaborate your ideas to your superior and he defends that idea to the management. I've met people who say they don't need to explain further on a task because the job speak for itself. They get a query and the next thing you hear is "I'm an introvert"

pls don't quote me in ur next reply. Thanks

I am an introvert, so I can relate with your experience .

Most bosses don't tolerate introverts, just smile at intervals to their Jokes (even if it is boring) .

I recently did my internment, I just had a mild relationship with all.

No complain.

Entrepreneurship rocks.
How can an introvert succeed in entrepreneurship or do you intend selling to ghosts?

Introverts does not mean deaf and dumb, Bill Gates survived, Mark Zuckerberg survived. You just need the right leverage.

Many a time, most people do mix up gutlessness and laziness for introversion. Excuse me, from what you stated above, you come across like a gutless and lazy person and your introvert nature compounded it.

Confident and hyperactive introverts never have issues at their work places or with people in general. I am a confident, maverick and hyperactive introvert and I command admiration, trust and respect of people wherever I find myself.
exactly my thoughts......u nailed it emphatically.

Being an introvert does not mean the person is timid. Being timid is a personality disorder. An introvert is more introspective and thinks or considers things before resoponding. They are always analyzing and observing their environment. The fallacy that an introvert is timid is where this dull stereotype comes from. This is why when people step on my toes and I react, everyone is alarmed and scared because they think I am timid, so I can't do anything to harm them. On the contrary, I am rather calculating. So when I react, guaranteed you will never forget me.

Besides I didn't even quote you, so why are you crying all over my post? You are boasting about a customer service job where you needed to use someone to survive on the job. Look mad man, your intelligence level is below -100. I am done responding to you. No one can make sense with a psychopath.

In a serious work environment, being an introvert shouldn't matter. It is your productivity that should matter. If everyone is busy gisting, how does any serious work get done? She is an unserious lady and her business will soon run down.

An introvert is actually a deep thinker, and quite intelligent and creative. Your type is an asset to any organization if your talents are Channeled properly. Please look for a serious company to work for. Don't feel bad. You just worked with a shallow and dull set of people.

Young lady, don't mix up esteem with pride. I don't want to conclude that you lack the prowess of proper word usage. I have known most of my compatriots especially the underprivileged for their penchant in disparaging others when issues above their understanding and IQ is being discussed. Believe you me, you are too young and beautiful to behave like a narcissist - refrain from such bad attitude okay. I wish you all the best.
