To pay doctor's fees before visa? Mba O! Not wise.
$9,7000 at black market rate is like 3.1m so the. 6.5m is ok o. In my opinion, whether to add husband's statement depends on who she filled is sponsoring on the ds 160. If she filled it was a joint Thingie then yes let her add his own statement.
I don already pay. El Paso said they'll refund (minus $145) if visa is not granted or we change our minds.

On the ds160 form, she's sponsoring herself.

I just don't want this visa denied that was why I (desperately) started paying all fees upfront.

Ok, so I'll hold on with the hospital fees then. Thanks.

Go to a Walmart store and request for a money order. They'll ask you for the amount, take $349 (the remaining $1 is to cover the charge). You would then swipe ur card on their POS machine after which you would be issued the money order. It is sort of a blank cheque. You can then pay it into any American account (either yours' or someone you know). It would clear the next day and then you have $350 cash as against just $150 on the atm
Many thanks for the baby greetings!

Thanks, I remembered using money order in 2013 and it is easy n reliable.
Thot that has stopped cos of this dollar wahala ....
While I am running around banks for moneygram, and praying for PtA availability wen I am travelling, I will include Money Order as Plan C
Opened an acct wt Stanbic last wk, and am at access bk trying re activate an ancient acct wt them...lol

Thanks @modath and omodadi for the advice on how to apply for my mum.
please what proof do i need to show them that she would not become a burden and that she will come back with me.
statement of accounts, my visa page, letter of sponsor ship , appointment letter from the hospital, reciept of payment of hospital bills?
i know they might not check those documents cos they decide to give one the visa based on their responses while being interviewed but i just want to be on a safe side just in case the decide to check. kindly advice.
above all i know God will go with her and she will be granted favour.
thanks again

Let her just go with all the documents you went with it too in case they ask, but as you rightly said, my mum wasn't asked to show any document.
Infact she became a clown when the vo retrieved her passport and gave her only a white paper. She accused her immediately and everyone laughed and laughed.
So don't worry, it's gonna be easy.....

Dear House.

I am populating my budget sheet and have the following questions:

In the DS 160 form, i am the sponsor of the trip and have about 4 million in the account now and my wife has about 1.5 million in her own account. Would this sum be enough for the interview process?

The budget is at $16,000 now (Dr F and Oakbend Hospital) . Should i use VD or CS Fees to calculate the budget? (First Child)

I am confused on what exchange rate to use presently. Can i use the official bank rate ( 200) or the black market rate at 320.

Grateful for your responses

Use the bank rate, and you can use either of VD or CS, but VD brings your budget down so it's better. The sum of money in your account isn't always the issue to every vo, the monthly income also matters.
A sudden transfer of even 10M to ones account might need some explanation b4 visa ld be granted whereas a monthly income of say 700k with a sum of 1M in the account as at the time of interview might earn a visa without plenty grammar.

I used VD to calculate, but added another line as incase of CS and put there different of CS and VD cost. Just to show am prepared incase it's CS. The exchange I used was 200 irrespective of black market rate then. Go with both account details, I think the amounts are ok. I also had $16,000 as budget and account statement less than 4 but luckily the vo didn't ask to see the account statement. But I was prepared to explain to the vo I already had $10,000 as cash in hand for the trip added to the bar of my hubby account.

if you need Pta you have to try head offices in Lagos, once you get on the allocation list then you can pickup from any branch, but you might just have to spread your tentacles to Lagos, my mum got from Diamond Bank two weeks ago but the branch in Victoria Island Jide Oki street or so.

Stanbic will work for you if you are travelling from Lagos, as they only issue a day to ur travel date

@nupitall between u and your spouse all u can get from the bank is 8k and ur budget is 16k. Do u see the quandry in using bank rate?
Somebody was once asked how she Wud source for dollars when the dollar ish tie wrapper. She said bank and the interview ended after that.
My advice is that u calculate based on both and indicate this exchange rate on top of the sheet

If your visa was approved and there is a delay in printing visa all u need to do is have patience.
If peraventure they are conducting administrative processing and you were honest in the interview then just wait. After a week, u can send an email or call the embassy[/quote
