What happened before Echiejile fouled him? Is that not beating Echiejile one on one?

For a defender, it is allowed? And doing it without getting a card is bravo. But Amuzie did his to get a card. grin

Due to the limited numbers of players required to make the list for the Olympics, i humbly suggest that utility players should be considered for selection and above all experience and talent. These criteria has helped me to frame up a list of players i think are potentially good enough to help us win or atleast create an impression in the Olympics.

Starting from the back line:

1) Moses Odubanjo; Moses Odubanjo can play as a RB, LB, RM and as a RW. He is currently the most consistent RB we have right now. Odubanjo plays for Premier League promotion prospect Hull City. He has won individual laurels;Leyton Orient Young Player of the Year: 2012–13, Football League Young Player of the Month: April 2014

2) Kenneth Omerue; Kenneth doesn't need any form of introduction because he is an old guard of the Super Eagles. His wealth of experience which he garnered at the AFCON won by the Eagles and at the World Cup will go a long way to help fortity the defence. He can play as a RB and CB. Omerue plays regularly for his Turkish team Kasimpasa-sk.

3) Leon Balogun; Arguably Nigeria's most in-form defender in Europe. He is eligible to play as one of the Overage players. Balogun can play as a RB, CB and DM.
He is currently plays in the Bundesliga with Mainz.

4) Williams Troost-Ekong; Many will be suprised to see him on the list but be rest assured that he deserves a place on my list because he is the most experienced among the lots having played in the Dutch Eredivisie for 3 good seasons before he moved to Gent this season. He was sent on loan to Haugesun in Norway where he is helping team to top the league. He can only play as a CB.

5) Kingsley Madu; Kingsley can only play as a LB but he is the most consistent and experienced left back eligible for the Olympics. He was a member of the 2013 U20 class and currently the Super Eagles.

6) Stanley Amuzie; grin The only creterion is na Siasia boy. Apart from that he can play as CB and LB. I think TheGoodJoe will be happy about this. However, this boy is always on Siasia list.

But if Siasia drop sentiment. I will consider one of these three, Shehu Abdullahi, Musa Mohammed or Ekpolo Elohor

This is my list for the the defence. I want us to replicate the Atlanta Olympic team by chosen only 5 defenders.

Any objection before i move to the midfield?

Icon4s, TheGoodJoe, BlackAlbino6, TheSuperNerd, terzurum5, Joseph1013, orkpekyandega, lakesidepapa BascoVanVeli, Badosqi, tbaba1234, justiz5 and the big bros i didn't mention. Make una no vex ooooo.

Sir, we need not to forget that our opponents too will be coming with three over-age players.

No matter how sluggish Mikel can be, we can't overlook his contribution to the team.
Having them in the team will also help bring confidence to the young players.

Finally, since d first WCQ match is in October n hopefully the bulk of players that will prosecute d olympic games will make d SE squad this will be a plus as they must have gel well with these senior players and that'll be a plus for us going into world cup qualifier.

For real, Pellegrini needs deliverance. We have a Champions League fixture midweek, we are three goals up at half time. Why not rest Aguero and give Iheanacho a forty-five minutes run.

Iheanacho only gets to play for ten minutes.

Midfielders; this is the most important part of any successful team in the world. So, i will select players based on their utility, talent and experience. I will choose only 5 midfielders.

1) Ogenyi-onazi; He is the most experienced and versatile among the lots. We saw what happened at the world cup when he was substituted, the midfield collapsed immediately and the French had their way. He can play as CM, DMF, AM and RB. With the Lazio man in the midfield, be rest assured he will dominate the middle of the park. He is 23 years. Overaged

2) Alex Iwobi; This lad had his breakthrough this season with Arsenal and he has been a revelation. He is a sure banker to lead the attacking midfielder. Iwobi can also play as a winger. He is 19 years.

3) Azubuike Okechukwu; He was the enginee of the 23 winning team and he was rewarded with the best player of the tournament. However, he's playing regularly for his team in the second tier of Turkish league. He is a DMF and can as well play CM. He is 19 years.

4) Abdul Ajagun; Without any contradiction, he is the most experienced and versatile player behind Onazi in the midfield. A winner of NPFL with Dolphins_F.C 2010/2011, winner of Africa under 20 Champion in 2011 and third place in 2013. Participated twice in the U20 World Cup and once in the U17 where he helped to reach the finals in 2009. He scored 12 goals in his 22 appearance for the U20. Later moved to UEFA Champions League finalist and second most Successful club in Superleague Panathinaikos-fc where he helped the club to place second twice behind Olympiacos_F.C(UEFA Champions League last 16 for 6 years) 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 and finally single handedly won the Greece cup in 2013/2014. He has played in the UEFA Champions League in 2015/2016. Ajagun is a natural attacking midfielder who can play as a CMF, RW or LW. He is currently on loan to Levadiakos-fc where he plays regularly as an AM. The team he left in the second position has dropped points and placed third in the Superleague. He is 23 years.

5) Etebor Ogehnekaro; He was very outstanding during the Olympics qualifiers. He plays in the NPFL and he is currently CAF most promising talent of the year. Plays as an attacking midfielder, second striker, striker and CMF. He is 20 years.

I decided to pick 2 natural attacking midfielder, 2 natural defensive midfielders and a central midfielder.

Another Nigerian played for Balogun's club Mainz today 'Karim onisiwo"..

After watching Iwobi today, perhaps we overrate this experience thing sometimes. Iwobi and Iheanacho might have created more chances for goals against Egypt.

Chigozie Awaziem (translated from Portuguese):

"Playing in the same team with Casillas is a fantastic feeling. It is a goalkeeper that everyone knows who has won everything, and is proud to share the dressing room with him , "

" Herrera , for example, plays a lot with me ; Casillas also ; the Brahimi and I talked a lot ... They are all clean. In fact , on the day of Benfica -FC Porto, they gave me a lot of strength . The Maxi alerted me to the danger of the movements of the opposing center-forward tips and said he would support me . The Casillas helped me fix some moves . Are gestures that make you be sure that you are part of the group. "

"At first, I confess I was a little surprised. I've always played the middle, but the mister Luis Castro understood that he needed me to plant in team B. Today , I'm glad he made that decision . I find it important to know to play more than one position . The truth is that just got the first team because he was playing the central " .

"To be honest , I felt great differences . Everything is professional and weight represent the sweater is the same. The intensity is higher, but the work that develops is similar , "he added , on the jump to the first team .

Hey!!! Bia Nwokem!!! Eh Egbon! Did you enter my library or what??

This is the closest list to mine. The only differences are Oghenekaro Etebo for Ifeanyi Matthew and that "last attack spot" is put as Awoniyi/Imoh Ezekiel/Sadiq Umar/Chikatara in my list.

Ajayi don't stand a chance in my list.

And just like yours, I also put Ndidi as a Midfielder in mine even though he could stand in for any of the Centrebacks also.

This list is wow!!! And is 99.8% exactly mine which I crafted in my alone time two days ago but is yet to show online.

But I have my fears shaa.... My fear is Siasia might not go with several stellar talents on this list.

I hope he proves me wrong.

Sodiq Popoola really impressed in the last brazil friendly but if he makes my list he will take the position of Usman or Etebo.

Now that's a hard call for me to make if I am coach. Popoola will make it if I drop one forward and go with 4 forwards.

Popoola was always going to have a battle for a spot on this team. Have you also forgotten our "Zidane" Sir Goodjoe.... "Obinna Nwobodo"?

Even he will likely miss out.

After some dudes go come yarn for Frontpage say we lack talents.... *smh* Ignorance gone on rampage.

Technical facts proved Solanke and Iheanacho both participated in FA youth cup and UEFA youth league. And at the end of both competitions Solanke's Chelsea came top. Your attack nko.... Na that one I wan see.... I'll be more than shockedd if Solanke no make your attack/forwards list.
Hahahahahahaha,........ #smiles

Atleast, for the world to see and judge. So, that they will know he is far ahead of Mathew and Etebor whom some suggest to be on the list.

If Onazi is not picked then we are going to the Olympics just to have fun. We saw what happened at the U20 world cup when we met stiff oppositions our midfield collapsed and we were dominated through out.

We need a better and experience midfielders and not the novice paraded on this forum. Mikel Obi is surely not on my list.

So Sir Forgiveness.... What about your attack? Can't wait to see it.... #smiles

I'm only sure of one name though. *winks*

Wish Siasia sees this thread and check out the various lines of thoughts. We've already done some thinking for him to be honest..... In terms of team selection. But hey! It's his call anyway.... Just hopes he gives us the best.... A squad far far better than the AFCON U-23 Squad... I really hope.

This is where my fear for Rio lies..... In Siasia's final 18 man-squad.

Tomorrow will be the day.

@bolded.... Hmm.... Could Mikel feature in Siasia's plans? Time will tell.....

Will Siasia consider Onazi?? We'll see.... But I don't think so. Besides we got fine talents in Onazi's role @U-23 level.

On my "unseen" list of Siasia's likely 18 that involves 3 overaged players (I have a second list that involves only U-23 players in the final 18), I put Mikel/Onazi in midfield displacing one U-23 player.

But then I told myself this: Siasia just might not consider Onazi.... Why? Well, I just wonder why Onazi never featured ahead of Etebo in Alexandria. So I'm not too hopeful on that (Siasia including Onazi).

If Onazi eventually makes it.... Great!!! If he doesn't, well Siasia would have proved me right.

Even Mikel isn't sure of being one of the two or three overaged Siasia takes to Rio. In 2008, Siasia only took one overaged in Osaze.

Anyway, it's all up to Siasia to decide which "overaged" he wants.
May he choose well and wisely.......
