Hey bro,why the Emphasis on " they actually don't write back to your undergraduate school"... Just be mindful so people won't exploit such for their sinister motive...The US has over the decades built Institutions that allows for checks and balances...Just so u know..
My dear if u don't undstnd some things,u seek clarification instead of making hasty comments. Abii ur just looking for what to say. WES write back to ur undergraduate school for confirmation and in most cases it takes a while before UG schools reply, thereby leading to delay...and am telling u IERF doesn't write back for confirmation as long as its an official transcript sealed and stamped by ur UG schools. So it is only by writing back to UG schools that Institutions in US checkmate documents? Abeg I no dey talk toomuch. Many people use IERF and I have given reasons why.

For the records, IERF is a member of NACES. So no cause for alarm. I wouldn't come here to give wrong info to Nigerians. Mbanu!!! Udo di!!!

Hello house, how can I make my payment for SEVIS fee?

Hello everyone... I got partial funding from my school. how do i indicate my sponsor on d i20? d school or parent

my second question is that assuming your entire school fee is indicated as... for example ooo

Tuition fee:16, 000
living expenses; 15, 000
Funds from school: 11, 000

how much will one pay in total if i don't intend to stay in d accommodation provided by d school (does it mean d total fee I will pay is 6000)

replies will b appreciated... Thanks!

The total cost of attendance ought to be 31,000 but since you have been funded up to the tune of 11,000. It therefore means you need to show financial evidence that you have 20,000 for you to be given I-20.

This is sacrosanct regardless of your intention to or not to stay in school hostel. Once this condition is satisfied, you can then make a decision of where to stay on getting to US.

I was under the work-study contract and suddenly they took it from me saying it's not for foreign students only for U.S citizens. Meanwhile I already have SSN. Please how can I work off campus on code and I got good jobs which pay well but all of the organizations does E-verification. Please advise me good people. Thanks

That's correct. If you're fully funded it should be your school.
I also put my university

Be very careful when filling your ds160 and remember everything you put there. Cc Fortissimo

Thanks bro. When asked for the relationship between you and the school, you chose employer right?

I av bn accepted, this condition was sent to me
" Before we can mail the I-20 to you, you must pay at least 50% of your fall semester’s expenses.
This amount would be at least $7,060 (since you will not live on campus).
Since your sponsor resides in the US, this payment can be made online once you claim your account."

What school and program? I'm sure people have abused their I-20 in the past (maybe get VISA with it and abscond), hence their stringent requirements.

All the best.

No. Your tuition balance is 5k. But anyway you don't pay all your tuition at a go. There's a proration element. A simple example: your tuition for 1 year (2 semesters I think) is 16k would mean you pay 8k per semester.

Apart from your tuition, you'll also need to show that you have 15k for your room and board, transportation, books and other miscellaneous expenses. You aren't paying the money to the school. They just want to be sure you have enough money to take care of yourself.

I never said so. I said show evidence of 20000 either in your account or sponsor's account. Of course, you will pay the remainder of your tuition. It is then left to you how you will spend your living expenses funds.

Perhaps the schools have been reading here and are sick of people gaining a visa with university place then jumping to cheap community col!

Exactly, man. I won't be surprised if that "pay before I-20" rule is only applied to some select nationals.

Visited EducationUsa at the embassy to register with them as required by Minnesota state university and it was a nice experience. For those who will be going for visa interview and are looking for a cheap and affordable guest house or hotel close to Walter Carrington, you can check frutos fast food. The fastfood has lodginh accomodation. Its located at 16 Ikoyi Road, Obalende. Just beside Wesley Methodist Church. Their prices range between 3500 to 5000naira per night. For the rooms of 3500,please do not expect an ac in the room.
hello fizzile, I'm pretty sure that spent a lot getting registered, please bro,how much does their registration cost? thanks a lot

I suggest you mail (or even call) them and tell them why you can not pay such tuition deposit when you have not been granted visa by the US consulate in Nigeria. Tell them that if the deposit is non-refundable then it will be unwise for you to make such payment as you are not ready to forfeit such huge sum if perhaps you are not granted visa. Meanwhile, remind them that you are sure to pay when you secure your visa.
(P.S don't sound as if you are entering into an undertaking to pay the said sum after they issue you with an 1-20)

Hello dear, while you are planning your finance pls bear in mind that there may be other charges aside your tuition such as the fees you pay per semester and the medical insurance.
You may want to put those into consideration too. So, don't work with 5k dollars as you are likely to be underestimating.

Hello peeps, Are there other ways one can seek for funding from a university, apart from the merit-based funding especially as a prospective MSC student. Can an. international student apply for on-campus jobs or off-campus along with pursuing the degree? Please what are the likely jobs to be given if one applies for them? What if my school doesn't offer one any funding, what other ways can one support myself through school. please guru answer.

Meehhnn I sure did but its worth it. The form was 1600naira while the registration is 32k. U must attend a session on wednesdays den membership session on thursdays. As a member u can always come there to make use of their internet service, their toefl or gre materials, that's their library generally. Are u applying to minnesota state university? Don't forget you will have to tell the woman to mail the graduate coordinator indicating dat u have registered.

My small advise is try and get like 2 to 3 copies of your sponsors SOA, send one with your application documents, keep the other 2. Incase when u r asked for it again after been given admission, Send them one and keep the other one for your interview.

Why I asked you to send one with your application is in order for you to save cost of sending docs. Cos some sch will just make use of it right away while some will ask you to send later.

When you do this, you are foreclosing opportunities for funding!
