Hello Pals,I use the 2005 Honda Accord. My mechanic has advised that I change my transmission oil.I have tried to read about the best for Honda and found out that it is Honda ATF DW1 or something like that..... The dealer I spoke with told me that it goes for 3000 naira per liter and that I will need up to 6 litres. This is quite expensive for me at this time. Can users please confirm to me if I should go for another alternative or must it be the Honda ATF?If so,do I really need 6 liters costing 18,000.What are the solutions for this? Please share your experiences and response.Thanks.

you will need a maximum of 4quartz for a drain and refill. 3k is the old price, with the dollar rise you should be looking at between 3500-3800

Hello guys, I have issues with a 2008 Honda Accord vtec 2.4 cyl.

When car starts and you try to move. It doesn't respond slowly immediately. It picks up quickly after putting pressure on the throttle. Same as when in motion, with low pressure on the acceleration. It's moves to about 4000rpm with reving noise. Before now, the 'D' blinks when it revs to 4000rpm. I changed the flat switch sensor and the smaller single one and the blinking stopped but the rev still persist with low acceleration.

So I changed the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid A, B, and C and the D blinking stopped but still have delayed engagement when I move from P to D. When driving the car revs up without changing gear until I stop move to P and return back to D. Going for a scan tomorrow. Expert take a wild guess what else is there to change. Am in Abuja. Any good transmission guys around here??

I pulled out these codes
P0716
P0325
P2229
P0135
P0498
P2185

Cleared all codes and car moves all right. But I feel everything isn't alright. Should I replace any other sensor.??

Gazzuz and the rest gurus......does a bad brain box cause jerking while driving? Does it also reduce fuel economy?

Thanks man for the response but am still very much interested to know if the ATF DW1 is the only oil I can use.Does every Honda Accord user use this oil?Am considering it's price. Are other oil brands incompatible with the transmission?I know there is a recommended oil for Honda Engines but it's expensive and so majority of people use regular oils like Mobil;Forte,Conoil etc.Is it the same with the transmission?Wat are d good alternatives to the DW1?

Bros, O would advise you go with the ATF DW1 and you need only 4litres. Out of ignorance or dearth of information I recently flushed and refilled my transmission oil with ATF Z1. I plan to switch back to recommended AFT DW1 when the fund is available.

When it comes to transmission matters, it saves you cost in the long run to follow manufacturer specifications. Honda now recommends ATF-DW1 for their engines, not Dexron II, flying horse, Mobil or whatever all those alternatives are.

Just think of the cost of replacing your gearbox by the time you get it damaged by using 'alternative' transmission fluids. You'd probably realize it is safer to use ATF-DW1, even though expensive.

I suggest you use ATF-DW1. I'm sure you don't want your transmission destroyed any time soon.

Thanks guys. Will opt for the recommended one I guess as it's safer and optimal in cost and performance in the long run

the question is very vague.. describe vehicle, and the steps you have taken (parts replaced, scan results etc)

Vehicle stability assist(VSA), Tire pressure monitoring sensor(TPMS).

Chect your ABS wiring harness & gauge your tires properly or else get sensor checked out, inside the rims of your tire.

For the rattling noise, often associated with the camshaft position sensor, may need to change it but start with a scan first.

Thanks guys for all the care and love. The car just recently left the workshop and it's recovering. The following were carried out;
1. Diagnostic scan which discovered misfire in all 6 cylinders.
2. Damaged throttle position sensor.
3. Faulty solenoid(A/T).
4. Faulty flat switch (A/T).
5. Faulty Bank 1 (oxygen) sensor.

All but 5 has been fixed as by replacing all the mentioned parts and by servicing the nozzles and changing the plugs and coils.

5 is yet to be fixed as the correct sensor is yet to be procured by my mechanic. Fuel economy has really improved as testing is still ongoing.

Best regards

Belvinho
how much did everything cost?

And what does it cost to change the camshaft position sensor and what if I buy my own scanner, can I be able to do it myself?

Good Day my people, please where can I get ATF-DW1?

I need it urgently as my Honda accord 2000 model has been giving me serious headache.
Gear only select at will and this has been on for over a week now.

NEVER!

I have suffered a lot lately from a mechanic who I suspect has been doing guess work with my car.
I presently no longer enjoy driving the car.

Issues include:

1. Transmission - my gear select when it feels like
2. Constant vibration of the car once I put my leg on the accelerator; vibration stops once I take my leg out of the accelerator(This
particular one started after i change my shocks about 2weeks ago)

3. My car seems to lose power when I make a 90 degree direction change like joining a major road from a street.

Oga GAZZUZZ kindly assist in anyway you can.

Anyone knows where I can scan my car within sapele?
