Skywalker5:Yeah. No team can stand the Spurs in defense. If you notice, the only time the Warriors lose to other team except Spurs, they always play over average offence with more turnovers, increased in points from turnover less 3pts made and less point differential. Only the Spurs can stop warriors in a 7 game series cos Pops is brilliant and would always slow the game down and dictate the game pace with the surplus of their BIGS on offence and constant switching of their small on defense (which sometimes doesn't work well against Warriors). Steve Kerr learnt from Pops and he's also very sneaky sometimes. He knows what to do if we meet Spurs. I don't pray to meet Spurs but if we do, so be it. I'm more interested in repeating and making Queen LeBron cry which will not be possible if we don't beat Spurs. drinkmorewater:If you're putting us below the Spurs then I have nothing to say. Is it Utah jazz, OKC, Clippers, or who that'll cause complacency? Maybe Memphis cos Mike Conley is out again. |

SmooshCHN: tmac was being diplomatic as usual, key word being "playing together". Harden and Howard definitely have chemistry issues, but both know how to keep it on the down low. Harden says the right things until he gets on the court. Howard does everything right up front and while working his agenda in the background. I hope morey looks past his playerrmetrics or whatever he calls it these days, and sells Harden first chance we get. |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 8:31pm On Apr 06, 2016 |
I hope kerr starts resting the warriors starters. These guys have played most of the regular season like its the playoffs and they are getting worn down to the point where they have a hard time keeping up with young teams late in the game. If Curry or Draymond overplays the next 3 or 4 games and get injured in the search for 72 wins, boy Kerr is going to look very foolish. The rest of the league will rejoice lol. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:26am On Apr 07, 2016 |
birdman:Lol you guys are not better than the Sixers without Harden. If Morey was smart he would look for a team he could con to trade for Howard (who is done at elite level IMO) |

drinkmorewater: Durant joins the Celtics and it changes the whole dynamics of the Eastern conference. this has nothing to do with upgrade, this is about who presents Durant a better opportunity at the championship, the Celtics are deeper, more discipline and dedicated, both have rookie NBA coaches, a storied franchise with an identity compared to OKC. Based off the current roaster of both teams, who genuinely presents KD the best opportunity to the NBA Finals? Renowned franchise teams are about systems, that is why a team like Philly can draft the number 1-3 overall picks for 4 consecutive seasons and still struggle while the Celtics draft and gradually rebuild a franchise while making the playoff's in the same eastern conference without a superstar or experienced player. The fact you mentioned the NY Knicks makes your argument questionable, he is not joining the Cavs, that would be almost impossible to pull, Cavs would have to move Love and other pieces, the Raptors just spent heavily in recruiting Demarre Carroll from the Hawks, that leaves Miami who have promising Winslow and Deng for the Small forward. One superstar is enough for the Celtics roaster to contend in the Eastern conference, Western conference may be another gist. |

A40: Tonight is a good example game of Harden's issues - rockets vs mavs. Just now, mavs went on a 12-0 run. Ok, they got hot right? Unless you were watching Harden. In literally 4 possessions back to back, he either failed to pick up his man, switch on a pick and roll or strolled back to defend after missing a shot. Each time, the remaining 4 guys crowded down the paint, leaving a fifth man open at the 3pt line. Which equals four straight uncontested 3s. Equals 12-0 run. Obviously his teamates notice, because Beverly just gave him an earful after he refused to show on the pick and roll. Sell, sell, sell! |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 4:10am On Apr 07, 2016 |
Skywalker5: I have watched a couple of their losses, and the bad 3pt performance in those losses is a side effect imo. In fact, I think if the spurs tried to lock down on 3pt defense, they will surely lose. Warriors backcourt is even more comfortable burning you in the paint than they are shooting parking lot 3s. It seems the formula is to throw Curry off rhythm by making him work on defense, bodying him when he tries to go off, and controlling tempo (as few fast breaks as possible). I think this is why a bulk of their losses are to mediocre teams, but teams that have young legs and can play physical for 48 minutes- timberwolves, celtics, blazers, lakers, pistons... Only 2 really good teams, Mavs and Spurs beat them. It looks like warriors will face grizzlies or clippers in second round. Either of these teams is trouble for the warriors, based on this. I would not be surprised if they dont come out of the second round |

Who's going to be the Season MVP? Who's going to win the NBA FINALS? 1. Westbrook / Curry 2. Spurs or Golden State |

drinkmorewater: Durant on that Celtics roster is scary see how well a 5 ft 8 inches Thomas is getting buckets retool that line up around Durant and make Thomas give you scoring from the bench. that na 60 + wins easy. that is the best fit for Durant and it probably won't happen and you're mentioning Knicks, miami or even the cavs (where you go put James) |
Re: The NBA Begins by Skywalker5(m): 8:00am On Apr 07, 2016 |
SmooshCHN: Who's going to be the Season MVP? Curry (Undisputed) Who's going to win the NBA FINALS? Spurs (I hate them but i can't see any team stopping them if they are healthy) |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 9:05am On Apr 07, 2016 |
SIRcumalot:James might leave Cavs if he doesn't win in the finals if he losses the Eastern Conference Championship he's Surely going to leave. |

Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 1:17pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
birdman:I done tire self. He said at an interview that most of the players don't want to rest Green precisely. When he told them at practice to expect a dive in their playing time, Green flared up saying he's just 25, Klay is 27 and Curry 28 so nobody is worried about fatigue. So he's concentrating on the bench more since he already knows what he can do with his starters. Green is a real thorn in my flash sometimes but I kind of enjoy it. Kerr said. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Mynd44: 1:38pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
SmooshCHN:This sounds like indiscipline to me though. The coach should babke to take charge of his team and not the players oppose his decisions but what do I know? |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 1:41pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
2nd best backcourt in the league?
|
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 1:44pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
I will not mind portland making a move to get cousins. McCollum, dame, and cousins on one team is straight fire. |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 3:07pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
Mynd44:Maybe I typed it that way. But the article was based on If Kerr was more concerned on chasing record. He was trying to say some of his players really want it. Kerr is a softer version of Popovich I tell you. |
Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 3:11pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
Donlittle:na, lowry and derozan for me though Dame and MCcollum is no joke. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Mynd44: 3:12pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
SmooshCHN:Popovich has the chance of going a whole season without a home loss. He can chase it and all but if it comes down to it, he will walk away from chasing the record. I remember sone seasons back where he had a chance of losing the nost games in one season and he started resting players because to him, records are nothing. The guy is just too disciplined. He is also the reason why no spurs player is a "superstar" |
Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 3:15pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
Mynd44:LMA? pop will play his guys to go unbeaten at home you guyz go see. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Mynd44: 3:23pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
SIRcumalot: Kawhi. He will try to keep the record but he wont go over the top |
Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 3:46pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
Mynd44:still doesn't change the fact that aldrige fits the superstar bill has he was heavily recruited last free agency. so make no spurs fan dey form for here. what is over the top really? when playing the regulars guys is what he is suppose to do. |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 3:49pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
Mynd44:Let's see if he'll rest his players when playing warriors |
Re: The NBA Begins by Skywalker5(m): 5:07pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
SmooshCHN: i have a feeling he will have to play his star players. His team is also trying to make history unbeaten at home. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Mynd44: 5:17pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
SmooshCHN:The psychological boost will be needed because they are right now about the only team that can stop them in the west. They will need to "practice" against them |
Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 5:25pm On Apr 07, 2016 |
So if the GSW were chasing a playoff spot they would have rested their players in case of the same playoff they may not make? I still don't understand the logic of resting players the way it is being rehashed everywhere. So there have been 2 bad defensive displays in the last 3 games. It boils down to complacency and playing with the record in mind and I agree. Once you have the complex you can 'out-offense' anyone you stop caring about the points they are scoring against you and keep trudging on, trying to just outscore them. I believe this explains the Boston and Wolves games. But in a bid to create enough drama for the playoffs and for naysayers to be excited, people start over-analyzing the losses with doom and gloom chants everywhere. Wait, the Spurs barely beat the Jazz 88-86, squander 2 10+ leads and need a clutch 2pt shot to win and they are praised for it, but GSW beats the same spectacularly defensive Jazz by 7, putting 103 past them but people say they're fatigued and burning out? I don't understand. So the only way GSW look money for the finals is if they blow everyone out (regardless of if they win), but the Spurs are sure to win it as long as they keep out defending everyone? Smells like double standards to me. |
