Hello,
Please I'm new on this thread. I graduated with above 4.0 gpa from a federal university in Nigeria in 2011. I studied chemistry. However I've been working in the financial sector from 2013 till date. I intend to apply for my MSC in Canada. Please house what are my chances of getting admission into Brandon university environmental and life sciences program or uni of Manitoba chemistry program without Taking GMAT or GRE. And will my work experience being totally different from intended course of study be an issue?
Best Regards

[i am working. i will do just that.
quote author=DanIndia post=44496518]OK.
Are you currently working ?
Could you get a study leave letter indicating that your company is OK with you leaving for the period of your studies ?
Do you still have your job offer letter ?
A reference letter, maybe?
Pay stubs/Bank statement showing the monthly income from work ?
And introduction letter too from your work place also indicating the period of time you've been working with them and how OK are they with you pursuing further studies. It wouldn't hurt from them to hype a bit about the kind of asset you'd be to the company upon acquiring whatever qualifications you've applied for.

If one is applying for PGC, is it OK to state in the SOP that one intends to go on and do a masters after d Pgc? Can this affect purpose of visit?

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by DanIndia(m): 6:38am On Apr 08, 2016
I don't think it's OK nor do I think it's not. That would be a personal decision.
You know what your plan is, you can decide to come clean on your intentions. You know what they say "Honesty is the best policy".
I believe there are folks who've stated in their application that they have plans of working after studies and must have not been denied based on that. The VOs know that you won't go to a country like Canada for studies and return immediately upon completion. Noone does that. If you won't work for the money, you'll work for the international experience. In fact, the VO expect that from a Study Applicant.
In your case, you're planning to study further. That would do no harm to them as you're pumping money into their economy and not competing in their labour market.

With just admission letter, account and ordinary sponsorship letter?
When was this ? Were you working then ?
A lot of things have changed since you last applied. They have different officers that handle applications. What works for one may not work for another. Either ways, it is no harm attaching any documents you might find relevant pertaining to your application. It's better for them to find it even when they don't need it than to need it and not find it.
Since it is not an interview process where you can tender documents at the officer's request, I recommend to add whatever documents you think is relevant because that's what's going to stand in front of the officer and not you.

Best to start the process and carry your school along about your progress.

Worst that could happen is a deferral if you're under a deadline or you could have someone wire the money through a dorm account directly to the school.

One could from outside Canada too but costs more- $23, 41.60, 40 CAD depending on which organization you employ their services.

As for your specific request for within Canada link: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by DanIndia(m): 7:19am On Apr 08, 2016
One thing I like to think of is this, you can never be too old to study. And, approval of visas are solely at the officer's discretion, not some fellow on NL. What we do here is share opinions. And you never know until you try. If your intentions are genuine, please put it up. Even if you end up being denied, you'd know you tried at least. If you want to, please go ahead.
Add your sewing program certificate and some other hands-on experience letters that you can find. Even pictures of stuff you've done wouldn't hurt. And give Italy a thought too. They have good schools for Fashion courses as well as Scholarships.

I think u can use Lagos if u r applying from Lagos. I have not seen any place in the guides that expressly states that applicants from Nigeria should address their applications to the Ghana visa office.

Bro.. How sure are you about the TRV?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by DanIndia(m): 7:48am On Apr 08, 2016
Hahaha, he's pretty sure. You've got everything you need to walk in to their embassy and throw your passport at their faces and yell at them "Stick that visa on my passport". haha na joke o. However, I, hayqins or any other Nairalander, are not in anyway the right persons to tell you whether or not your application will be approved. That's totally left to whoever is going to be evaluating your application.

That being said, you're a Ph.D applicant, and with what I've read - you have up to about a 90% success rate at bagging that visa.
