Ola Aina makes the bench of Chelsea. I rate Coach Guus Hiddink's picks and I hope Coach Samson Siasia gives him a chance to prove himself in camp.

Just see this. A name I mentioned just recently on page 209. We really gotta focus a bit more on quality defensive options for our national team.

TheSuperNerd:
I love Michael Olaitan. He's definitely better than Eghenekaro Etebo in that midfield role.

Abeg, I know we can't get all the available foreign-born/bred talents but I think Nigeria should also focus strongly on getting the high potentials-laden defensive talents and not just attacking talents.

In fact, among the attacking and midfield talents, let's go for the possible stand-outs like Solanke who could add extra quality competition to an already potentially super competitive department.

Thanks goodness, we invited Oduwa to the U-23s. Now that's super quality for the future.

So in defence, our scope should look like this:

From Moses Odubanjo to Tiago Abiola Ilori to Kingsley Ehizibue and others such as:

- Tosin Adarabioyo
- Ola Aina
- Dominic Iorfa Jnr (his dad already said his son is for Nigeria at senior level though his son will choose finally at age 22/23)
- Ashinme Kigbu
- Tyrone Ebuehi
- E.t.c, e.t.c....

We still got Otigba in the wings. All these added to the likes of Awaziem, Omeruo, Madu, Musa Mohammed, and a couple of others already ours will see our defence not lacking quality options in the future.

We need "more than enough" quality options and rising top talents in defence just like we have in attack and midfield.

And one more thing, why do you like spelling "Omerue" instead of "Omeruo"?? Kilode?

#smiles

You are right on point. We need "more than enough" quality options and top "rising" talents in the defence but unfortunately our coaches are sticking with Ambrose, Oboabana, etcetera while the real talented ones are left to waste away.

Some will tell you they are not matured enough for the Super Eagles. So, when do we know they are matured enough to play for the Super Eagles after seeing them play for top clubs in Europe?

Otigba is there playing every week but they will prefer Oboabana.

Some of those players are playing regularly and some are already making the bench. Is this not the time to approach them? Oh! I see, they want them to become Super stars before they call them. Ola Aina even made Chelsea bench today.

My brother, the thing don dey tire me.

Omeruo is Omerue on my phone. So, sorry for that.

Iheneacho should start for City today. City a cracker against psg next week, this is the perfect time to rest key players since they are playing at home against a not too fantastic west brom.

Iheanacho on the bench. 4-4-2 formation with Aguero and Bony upfront.

Shakes my head and walks out of the thread.

City fans dont understand why Pelegrini prefers Bony over Nacho. Like Welebeck, they feel he is a waste of tactic and space, yet. If he wants to beat Psg, he better use the nonprofiled Nacho.

FRIDAY FRED CAN’T STOP SCORING IN NORWAY

20 year old Nigeria forward Friday Fred scored his third goal in four games for Lillestrom firing a brace to help them to a 4-0 win over Sarpsborg 08.

He opened scoring in the 15 minute of play before doubling his tally by scoring his team’s third goal a minute to the half time break to give them a 3-0 lead going into the break.

The little known forward burst onto the scene in Norway last season scoring 11 times in 26 games, a rapid improvement from the previous season when he scored just three times from 16 games.

Last week he scored his side consolation goal in a 4-2 loss to Molde that got him voted into Owngoalnigeria.com team of the week for Nigeria players in Europe.

His Nigerian colleague at the club Innocent Bonke lasted the entire duration of the game picking a booking in the 58th minute of play in what was his fourth appearance of the season.

FC PORTO FIDELIS IRHENE CLOSE TO RETURN FROM INJURY

On loan FC Porto midfielder Fidelis Irhene is close to returning to full fitness after shaking off the injury that has kept him out since the 26th of March 2016.

Irhene out on loan to Portimonense served a one match ban for the red card he picked up against Famalicao on the 26th of March when they drew 1-1 with the third placed team.

After his ban he picked up an injury in training that kept him out of Portimonense last league game against Freamunde which was played a day after he returned back to training.

Coach Jose Augusto will now have to decide if the 20 year old is fit enough for this weekend game against Victoria Guimaraes as Portimonense currently fifth on the log standing continue their push towards promotion to the top division in Portugal.

So far Irhene has made 21 appearances with one goal to his name at the club where he is teammate to Nigeria youth international Musa Yahaya.

Sturm Graz Striker Bright Edomwonyi Eyes Reunion With Stars In Nigeria U23s Squad
[/size]

Former Flying Eagles striker Bright Edomwonyi says he has unfinished business with the Nigeria youth setup and is eager to represent the Dream Team VI at this summer’s Olympic Games.

The Sturm Graz starlet has stated that he has a good relationship with several players in the Samson Siasia-led side and will quickly settle into the squad if invited.

“I have not yet been contacted but hopefully soon. It will be great to represent my country at the Olympic Games,” Edomwonyi said to allnigeriasoccer.com.

“Most of the players in that team are my friends so we all know what it takes to play for Nigeria. I have all the qualities a striker needs, that is why I am playing in Europe.”

Edomwonyi, who began his career in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, is hopingSturm Graz will qualify for next season’s Europa League despite eight points separating them from Olarenwaju Kayode’s Austria Vienna with seven games left.

“It has been going good for me and the club. Our aim is to qualify for Europe next season, so we are still having few games left.

“I am confident we can qualify, it is possible if we can win five out of our last seven games, ” theSturm Graz number 34 added.

In 20 Bundesliga outings in the ongoing season, the K.V.C. Westerlo product has scored two goals.

The Beijing 2008 runners-up will have to settle for pot two, while hosts Brazil join Argentina and Mexico in pot one
Nigeria have missed out on pot one for the 2016 Olympic draw billed for April 14, 2016 at the Maracana.

Defending champions Mexico are named among the top seeds, along with 2008 men’s football champions Argentina, Japan and host nation Brazil, who will automatically be drawn in Group A.

The ranking is weighted so that recent performances play a more prominent role, and a bonus is given to those nations who finished their qualifying competition as continental champions.

And despite winning the African U23 Championship in Senegal, the Dream Team VI are in Pot Two, along with Korea Republic, Honduras while Iraq take the remaining slot.

With this, Samson Siasia’s lad could face either hosts Brazil – a side they defeated 1-0 in a recent friendly game, Argentina or Mexico.

How did that happen? Coach Siasia invited Blessing Eleke, he did not come because his club did not release him. That is sad because that is one of our promising strikers.

Coach Siasia does not easily forgive. After an official invitation, the club should have released him.

I hope Coach Samson Siasia gives Blessing Eleke another chance. It was not his fault.
