This is definitely not the way to go. Holding on to public office should not be a do-or-die affair!

So What you are saying in essence is that; We should weaken the regulatory bodies so much so that they literally have no powers to regulate or prosecute offenders that hold political office for fear that they may be used against political opponents. grin

Tell me: How much more weaker should the CCT be made in your opinion.. grin
They should be subservient to the constitution. They should be bent and made as weak as the FBI

Our lawmakers are funny. Are they doing it coz Saraki is facing trial?
They are doing it to stop the slide into dictatorship of the present occupant of Aso rock. It would be restored when a more emotionally stable person occupies Aso rock. They need to amend even the terrorism laws under which Buhari has been clamping his perceived enemies into detention. This is the time to rescue nigeria from an unrepentant tyrant.

He doesn't need to sign it because after 30 days of his refusal to sign it, they will simply veto his assent by easily attainable two-third majority of PDP and Saraki's APC senators.

Buhari and APC are not fighting corruption, that is very clear even to a five year old boy. Buhari and APC are rather involved in political witch hunting and blackmail, target at their perceived political enemies. Buhari cannot claim to fight corruption while Jagaban, Amaechi and co walk free. The NASS has simply decided to wake up to their responsibilities of ensuring that the Executive transform into a full dictatorship. Imagine Buhari trying to decide who should or shouldn't get bail. Such non-sense should not be allowed to continue. Kudos to the NASS.

Just as they have the powers to "tweak" the budget, so does the constitution empowers the president to veto any bill!

At this juncture, all that is left is to count the days to 2019, this present NASS case is a forgone conclusion, Nigeria nor fit see any profit from this transaction, make loss nor too plenty na the only prayer.

2/3 of the NAS can override the president's veto and pass the bill into law tongue tongue tongue

cheesy cheesy cheesy you make me laugh.

can you tell me what makes a case to be motivated politically.

every aspect of our life in naija has been tagged political motivation.

its better we think straight as nigerians

chukwudi44:

Saraki has not been charged with any act of looting. He is only been charged with a politically motivated charge of false declaration of assets.Besides people like you defended Buhari when he forged WAEC certificates to become president so please you don't have any high moral grounds above me.You are only pissed because Saraki messed up the APC plans of chosing the senate president.

I am yet to hear you condemn corrupt APC ministers like Fashola and Amaechi who have been clearly seen to have soiled their hands

The act of NASS establishing NDDC was also not signed (vetoed) by President Obsanjo but the Lawmakers set aside his veto by 2/3rd majority vote.

Today, we have Niger Delta ministry and NDDC

Even if Saraki was later freed in the Nigerian court of law, we the kwarans know that he swindle our funds which is very obvious if you tour around Kwara state and see the level of poverty in the state. Tell me one benefit of Saraki's wealth in Kwara state. You can't point to a single one. Almighty Allah will re-judge him.

Pa C, can you actually swear that in your heart of hearts, you believe the northerners will align with that?

Ordinary small kwanta between Kwankwanso & Ganduje, with the latter alleging that kwankwanso is working against Bubu...... Kano people already don stop donning his kwankwansiyya cap!!

See as our South people bungled the Lag-cal rail thing, we all know that if reverse had been the case, we would not have peace!

North think brotherhood, before politics!!!

God bless your brain, I was looking for an enlightened mind to tutor those saying the president can veto it because, probably they are laymen.
The NASS after 30days can override the assent of the president.
This fucking CCB and ACJA need to be amended to checkmate the excesses of this Super Clueless president. Well I blame Jonathan for granting his assent to this useless and oppressive ACJA in the first place.
