Lol to be honest with you an A grade here no be beans o. Because the grade get splited between so many assignments, midterms, class participation and then final exams. As a matter of fact depending on the professor, final exam may be weigh just 15 out of 100 percent. The implication is you have to be on your toes all through the semester. A grade isnt impossible though. A starts from 80-100, B starts from 65-75. For graduate programs the least you can have is a 65 percent fall below that and you are kicked out. It is not really easy but with hardwork and perseverance anything is possible. If you are comming for anything computer science related, that is another story entirely grin grin
hi, I'm kinda new here but I'm interested in the issues being discussed. Pls I have a few questions. Is your study in Canada based on scholarship? If so, is it a full scholarship? How did you go about it?
P. S, I'm in my penultimate year in a Nigeria University
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by AdexStudio(m): 5:51am On Apr 13, 2016
Lol. Funny you! Anyway they tried. I don't think such thing exist in Nigeria institutions. White will always remain white!

Have you seen those movies where the Actor travels a long way from home and is welcomed by a medium-sized good-looking young lady carrying a board with a name written on it ? That's an Airport greeter.
Do not expect a very cute one though smiley In your case, I don't think it's mandatory. You can decide not to enter your details on that link.

Focus on building your current and final CGPA to be a minimum of 4.5 or 4.0. By then, come back and research that when you done. Canada may be different story when you done but with that kind of CGPA, you can go anywhere God wants you to go.

Have told you the main thing. You can start finding answers to your curiosity after your final exam. But if you want to keep fueling tomorrow dreams rather than focus on reality of today, make Google your friend because no one can fully answer your question. I can assure you it will only be distraction for you now cos involve are things like final CGPA, researches you have done, etc.

You mean appear for your medicals before the application ? If that's what you mean, then yes. It's called an Upfront Medicals.

Good day everyone,
I recently joined/ started following this forum as I am in the process of submitting my application for a study permit. I have a few questions I am hopeful someone will be able to answer to guide me.

1. I plan to apply through the paper route, do I need to have an appointment to drop off my documents or do I just show up at the VFS office and be attended to?

2. Will my passport be collected and kept for the duration of the processing, or do I get it back if I intend to use it for an international trip while the process is still ongoing?

3. I intend to go to Canada With my child who is a U.S. Citizen by birth. I suppose since the U.S. Is a visa exempt country I don't have to include his passport in my application

I look forward to receiving a response from someone....soon
Cheers

Alright, thanks.
I'd like to know if one can get a work permit with a diploma from college?

Yes you can as far as it is longer than 8 months
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by DanIndia(m): 9:20am On Apr 13, 2016
1. NO, Just show up at VFS and drop your application.
2. Yes, they collect your passport. You don't get it back. Except you plan to go via the online route.
3. I believe so. But you'll still have to fill him as a dependent on the family form and tick the box where it says accompanies you. I am not sure of your child's age but he may not need to appear for medicals.

Please do try to call VFS and confirm no 3 with them.
Hope this helps

Good day house, I hope everybody is fine. I was denied visa about three ago on the ground of :
*insufficient fund
*limited employment prospect
*employment status
*personal asset

I then filed for a GSM file to know the actual reason for my denial, I received my GSM and here is what is written:

Application for study permit, taking into account the economic situation and the labour market in the country, I am not satisfied that the applicant has sufficient back grounds to ensure compliance with the conditions of stay as a student. For all these reasons, I am not satisfied that the applicant be a temporary student in good faith according to R179, doubts whether immigrant intent and does not use legal means to remain in Canada. In light of the information and documents in my possession, I am not satisfied that the student has demonstrated have sufficient financial resources to cover its costs of stay and study in Canada for all of these reasons, refusal.

Please gurus in the house, abeg how am I going to deal with this?

My friend my friend, you are back how you dey?
With the GCMS file you should now know the problem with your application and how to solve them, my guess are.
1. You are not currently employed
2. Your sponsor is not directly related to you or source of the funds is not clear to the VO or insufficient.
NOTE. They Re my guess.
You can list the documents submitted so that people in the house can put you through.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by hayqinsbFX: 11:57am On Apr 13, 2016
Well
From your gcms compared with previous GCMS it shows that different sets of people now assess the documents....or another office is handling the application.

Another thing to tak note is the new sets of people now take into consideration the economic situation of the country.

It clearly justifies th recent frequent refusals...its now upon applicants to go extra miles to prove study intent...

Everyone can but her question was more of scholarship related. Just giving her the best advise she need to put her on the upper rank of profiles since she's still in the profile building stage.

By the way, just received a try again later from university of Toronto even with a 4.5 CGPA. Was told competition was high and I ask why not if there's a tution waiver + CAD 15,000 involved. Thats one of the reasons i applied sef. Lolz.

My friend, I just dey low key ni ooo.

Concerning employment, I work in my brother's shop and I submitted a
Document to prove such as employment verification letter, even future employment letter. And that same brother is my sponsor together with my uncle though that uncle, we do not bear the same surname, he is from mothers side but on his birth certificate there is no relation that shows shebi u too u be naija, you understand things like that. But if source of I come isn't clear to the vo, I think it might have been mentioned in the note, nothing of such was mentioned and nothing even concerning that matter of personal asset and financial status, only the insufficient fund and limited employment prospect was pointed. What is the meaning of all these?
