Dear VO,
Please I need your advice, I applied for a B1/B2 visa to visit my sister in law that resides in the U.S. and also vacation with my husband, he got his U.S. visa 3 days ago. My appointment has been scheduled for 26th April but what really bothers me is that I reside here in Nigeria,i am a baker and my husband in Canada is on his work permit, he is my sponsor and I might be asked why am not applying for a Canadian visa. My answer is, I will be applying for a Spousal Open Work Permit very soon and it would take 4-5 months to process, and I feel getting this visa would be an opportunity for me to spend a little time with my husband. I just need to have an idea on other questions I might be asked based on this issue.

Dear VO,

Like I said, I won the DV lottery so my purpose of travel was very clear. I still do not understand why I was denied visa even though I met the minimum educational requirment. I wrote petitions to your office but always got the same reply that the interviewers decision cannot be reversed. I think that is a very wrong impression to assume that your officers are perfect or always correct in their decisions or maybe they do not have any form of supervision. I will prefer a robot interviews me next time not a human being.

Hello boladan,

You will be asked the same types of questions as all applicants and you must show that you have strong ties to Nigeria, have a legitimate purpose of travel and can afford it.

dear vo

i recently submitted my drop box confirmation letter and passport at the Abuja dhl office for visa renewal. my visa expired December last year. the processing time is 4-10 working days. as of today we are at 15 working days. i traveled 3 times to the US with my last Visa

this is what i get when i track my passport "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted"

i have physically checked at the dhl office and they confirm that my passport is not ready.

what can cause this delay?

please, my passport was issued 22cd Dec 2011, ought to expire 21st Dec 2016. meanwhile, a US Citizen friend(self-employed with standard income, own a house etc) wants to sponsor my trip to visit her in US with Form I-134. First, unfortunately, i lost my job last friday. Second, i want to ask if might favorably be considered at the embassy for visa due to the short time expiration date left on the passport?

please, i need your response comment.

Hello V.O.
I intend travelling in Sept. Can I enter the name of the hotel I intend to stay in as my U.S contact.
Another question, there doesn't seem to be the travel history section on my DS160 form, just US travel history in particular.
Many thanks.

Good afternoon Dear VO,

I am pregnant, got all the necessary documentation for a b1/b2 visa and declared my intention to give birth in the states. My question is the letter i got from the gyn/obs and hospital in the USA has my Marital name because that was the name i gave them (unknowingly) but my passport is still in my Maiden name cos i cldnt go to Abuja due to my condition. Though i stated in my DS 160 form that i have other name. I also have my change of name and wedding certificate. Does this pose a threat? Thank you

Good day dear VO

Please advise me, whilst filling out my US visitor's visa form, a section there asks information about my spouse. He's in Canada and I've applied for Canadian visit visa twice (once before wedding and once after wedding), unfortunately I was refused on both occasions. Now will the fact that my husband is in Canada be a disadvantage for my US visit visa application? Will the VO think I won't return to Nigeria seeing that we do not have any kids yet and we do not have landed properties yet?

Goodday all
Please, I was denied visa in 2013. Can remember the basis of denial. I told the VO that I was visiting my husband who is on student visa. I remember stating a diff salary from what was filled in d DS 160 form.

Can I reapply? If I can, do I stand a chance of getting a visa? Won't the VO reffer to the reason why I was denied the last time?
