I think this zoning should be in the INEC mandate and not just done by the parties internally - to avoid this APCnorth to PDPnorth scenario in the future. It will make the whole country feel represented when its compulsory turn by turn for all party presidential candidates (north-south-north-south).

That is how they have been zoning their senses since time immemorial. They trade excellence for federal character. Look how they give brainless dimwits that score way below 200 in UME admission into federal universities whereas counterparts from the south who score way above the 200 mark are asked to try again.
