If you are flying a particular airline from Naija to Aus, i would suggest you bring your cloths and pay for over luggage. Good cloths here are expensive and the less expensive ones are less quality.
I do most of my shopping in Asia countries (China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand) and only buy when they have sales here in Aus. Even the sales na d normal price for asia countries.

Witchery, h & m, uniqlo, Ron Bennett, croft, and Florsheim have some unbelievable sales for clothing and shoes respectively. Myer and David Jones just carry name for head. Anyhow, if you are loaded just come here and buy your clothings.

Meanwhile, those in Aus are you ceasing the opportunity of buying from Dick Smith? 80% close down sales O'boy eh!

Hello,

1. Yes Australian unis request for your official transcript. You can send directly to the school you plan to apply yourself or you can request your school to make the transfer (soft copy).

2. Nigeria trades in three major currencies, the USD, POUNDs and EUROs! And the most widely used is the USD. No set rate for the AUD. However, you can get around this, since you will pay for your application fee using your debit or credit bank provided by a Nigerian bank, u will be debited in USD/naira. Hence the rate of 1 USD to 1 AUD as @ the point of typing this is 1.30 dollars. Now divide AUD100 by 1.30 this approximately gives you USD77 then multiply the USD77 by the black market rate of your debit card provider, say 295 naira (Stanbic). Your application fee then is 22,715 naira.

I hope this is clear enough?!

Perfectly clear.

Thanks bro, I appreciate.

I doesn't really matter if they ask you for a bank statement or not. You have already filled the acceptance form and have checked the question that ask if you can support your studies here which in fact makes it a legal document.
When you no pay your tuition fees na then (Newie Uni lawyer go play you the music of d dead) wey go lead u to local court of d hands of immiga (immigration).

If you are not on a permanent resident visa, it entitled you to drive legally as long as it is valid. Once it expires, that right ceases.
If you are a permanent resident, it allows you to change your license to the full State license you reside after taking some tests without being on learner and Probational driver's license.

Thanks a lot Boss.
Since am not on the PR route what sort of identification would be most favourable for a student hoping to be engaged with some part-time jobs in Aussie? Just read sth about Nigeria's drivers license not being too favourable... How about the Australian students ID or any other alternatives?
Thanks again in anticipation of your timely response

Thanks shall just forget those agents ok.Am travelling on 14th while school resume on 16th cos my health insurance will start on that 16th. still be in contact with you.good luck to you.
Its usually advisable you leave a week or two ealier to settle in before school commences. Sort ur accommodation, familiarize urself with public transport if u do b needing it.
Securing accommodation isn't easy except school is providing you one. Even with your money, agent will still knock you back.

You can come in a month (if you like) before school commences, immigration doesn't really look at that. If they ask just saw you want to settle in before resumption date. Worse scenario na to buy $50 two weeks health cover.

I believe you do have to change your coe. Why don't you ring your school to find out what their process is?
Between there is more sucess rate when you apply yourself and bring in your wife after than you two processing same time.
If any issue arise with medicals the both of you will be delayed.
Just my thoughts

You can use it before October. You can make arrangements to get it renewed and sent to you by October when it expires (not sure how the renewal thing works though). If possible, you can renew before leaving, just have to explain to the issuing body in Nigeria that you will be not be around by the expiry date.

@ Bellong, my own driver license will expire by October, 2016 and I will enter Australia by may. Can I still use it if need be b4 October? And can I still get international driver license also or I shouldn't bother mysef?

Pls advise more on this sir.

Tnx

Hello house,

Please I have some pertinent questions that I need you guys to answer

1. Do Australian universities request for official transcripts sent from foreign universities to consider international students for admission like US and Canada schools do

2. How much is the current exchange rate of the AUD to the NGN. I'm applying to UNSW and they are requesting for an application fee of AUD100. Please I'll like to know the Naira equivalent of this.

Thanks in anticipation for your answers.

What I want to say ve been answered but why UNSW there are other universities which doesn't request for application fee . How will you feel if after paying over 15000k and u were not given an offer my advise for you is to apply to other universities with no application fee

Hello house , I was yesterday offered admission into Charles Sturt university for a PGD programme. The school not fully satisfied with my documents wrote this "
Dear Partner
Congratulations! I am pleased to advise that your application has been successful. Please find the CONDITIONAL OFFER document attached for your review and acceptance.

Kindly note the following:
-Student mentioned on Student Financial form that he will be partial self funded. In this case, provide the financial documents.
-The financial documents from sponsor are too blur, please provide clearer copies. Please note that funds need to stay in account for a minimum of 3 months in order to be accepted. Please also provide relationship proof between sponsor and student.
-Please provide a detailed SOP.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, the agent made me understand that the school fees was 17,000 aud but while studying the admission offer, I discovered it was 26,000aud.
Secondly, I remb to have thicked the column that I will be partially sponsored even when the agent nd I know I was using an uncle's bank statement. I expected her to have gone through my forms to correct such errors. This would ve impeded the current demand for my own financial details as I ve already indicated my uncle as a sponsor.

3) The financial documents from sponsor re too blur so they need clearer copies.

4) The sponsor doesn't bear same last name as myself so they said they need proof of relationship.
My sponsor's account holds only 5 million which period of stay isn't upto 1 month even, so they re saying the funds needs to stay in the account for 3 months in order to be accepted.
This statement of account issue really gave me real trouble Cus I kept meeting Frnds whom I thought would ve atleast 5m as their bank balance but that wasn't the case as I ended up transfering 2million to the account of my sponsor just to see that he releases his statement of account to me.

With the school fees no longer 17,000 aud but now 26k aud, does it mean my bank balance will increase?

Will I ve to convince my sponsor to leave the Money in his account for another 3 months before applying for visa?

How best do I proof that I ve relationship tie with my sponsor?

Can I get any affordable univ with tuition fee within 17k aud- 20k aud for a PGD programme.

Pls advise me.

Regards

i suggest you try and change to another university like someone suggested earlier to you. because;

1) going through the hazzles of bank statement is crazy and stressful
2) you cant tell your uncle to leave the money there till 3months what if he has financial issues or the person you borrowed the 2mil from?
3)even if you overcome the school hurdle what about pretoria that insists that your sponsor must be ur dad , mum or sibbling how can you go around that.
4) i think you just have to forfeit the application fee you paid if at all you did and check for another school ASAP.
5) most PGD courses here are 20+ so its good to make up your mind about that too. it will be cheaper if you are going for graduate diploma which may not guarantee your visa application cox its 1year studies.

think and make your decision goodluck bro

You don't have to be a permanent resident to change your Nigerian drivers licence to an Australian drivers licence. I am a student here in NSW and was able to change to a full licence after passing the required driving tests. For identification purposes, if you are in NSW, you can get a 'Photo Card' (find attached a pic of the photo card), its AUD51 and valid for five years.
