This unending siege in the College of Medicine of the Univerity of Lagos must come to an end. Over the years, students have battled with this menace. And the students body under the COMPSSA umbrella has fought in vain to end this nightmare of BEDBUGS in the hostel. They make arrangement for fumigation, at least, twice a session, but nothing has changed. The fear of bedbugs is now the beginning of wisdom. They hang on anything in the room, waiting for students to lie down. They swoop on students, and massively suck their blood. Imagine, students have to cross check to ensure they don't carry bedbugs to clinics /wards during clinical postings. Atimes, you see students helping themselves to pick bedbugs from their wardcoats. This is embarrassing!
Go to the medical hostel, you see students daily spraying one chemical or the other (usually Snipers) on their mattresses and spread them in the sun. Despite all this, bedbugs still holds way.
The Provost of the prestigious College of Medicine of the celebrated University of Lagos must declare a state of emergency on this bed bug menace, and put a permanent end to their proliferation. Even if the students are to vacate the hostels for one week, or even more, for effective fumigation, it will worth the sacrifice. The students through their association, COMPSSA, have done their best, let the authority come to their rescue.

I am sure that the only solution is to vaccate the hostel to properly sanitize the place and then all students should go home and boil their clothes from the biggest to the smallest. Change their boxes and bags and even shoes before returning to the hostel. Old matresses and pillows should be thrown out too. If not, no later how you sanitize that place, if just 1bedbug with eggs should return, with time you guys will start battling "game of thrones" with them again.

hope the students won't serve as agents through which the bed bugs will be transfered to their respective homes. . .
if possible, it will be better to leave all clothings behind, perhaps change into new ones by their hostel entrance

This is a stale news as the issue of bed bugs has been put to rest... I can authoritatively confirm it that there is no bed bug in our hostels again the school fumigated the rooms and supplied brand new beds for us to use. Stop spreading false news.

stale news bawo?is it ur LUTH?d bedbugs plenty yapa.my roomate doesnt sleep again&it has caused a fight in d room cos we dntallow her 2 put any of her properties on our beds or sit on it.no frnd or coursemate is allowed 2 seat on my bed either.i change my bedsheet in 3 days max&use plain bedsheets.also,i iron my clothes b4 wearing dem just 2 b sure.i hate doz insects so much.my bf tells me 2 search my self b4 entering his house(lolz)i do d same tin wen goin home tho only1 of my roomates has it on her bed 4 now.but i have frnds who cant sleep&it embarasses dem in d wards.compssa has tried but school nids 2 intervene

You will be surprised to hear that some of the bunks in the hostel have been in use for over 20 years. See the blood stained walls of the rooms in the medical hostel. The management should replace these bunks and mattresses with new ones.
