In those good old days, you can clearly distinguish a Christian from an unbeliever. But today, the church is becoming worldly while the world is becoming churchy.

People give their lives to Christ on Sunday morning and in the evening they retrieve their lives from Christ and head towards the nearest hotel or beer parlour!!! Personally, I blame our pastors for this.

During church services, you hear pastors saying “if you don’t pay your tithe, things must be tithe for you” and then I ask them “show me where it is written in the bible”. It is really painful to see pastors emphasizing on tithes and lay little emphasis on the salvation of souls.

A pastor once told me “my son, empty your account and bring it to the church” and I asked him “sir, are you an insurance company?” Why must I empty my account and bring it to the church when there are poor people around me who are desperately in need?

Nowadays, the church would organize a programme and invite patience ozokwor as a guest minister!!!! Na wa ooooooo. Pastors do this because they know that many people would turn up for the programme just to see the nollywood actress; the more people turn up, the more tithes and offerings are being collected.

Prior to this time, the focus of the church was “heaven” and when a programme was organised, the theme was usually “heaven and hell is real” But these days, a 21st century pastor would organise a programme and you see these kinds of themes:

1. back to back, your enemies must die!!!!

2. that devil is a mother fucker

3. become prosperous or die trying

4. leave me alone and let me drive my car, etc

Some of you might criticise my opinion but ask yourself these question “You pay your tithes to the church; from the income generated, the church builds schools and yet the poor members of the church cannot afford the school fees. In your honest opinion, do you think this is right?”

The church is supposed to be a place of worship for Christians to learn from the bible and try to be Christ-like and not a place where pastors enrich themselves, buy exotic cars or even private jets.

Funny thing is, when you chose to remove your tithe and offering from the Church it still won't make the Pastors poor...

pastors now preach more about tithing and more churches are being started every day..
I would prefer to take my tithe to an orphanage...

Malachi 3:10 was not addressed to the church but to jewish priests under the old covenant and tithes there was food items not money. So except you want to twist that verse, it can't mean monetary tithe to the new testament church

Very Sure sir!!! Most of these Pastors don't feed on your 100naira offering, they've got better income straight from the people GOD lay in their heart to sow seed to them.

Jesus Said I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail... And in Hebrew 7:7, the bible recorded that Jesus receives tithes... Read hebrew 7 very well, you will understand better why you pay tithe and also to your local church...

Jesus in Matthew 23:23 talked about tithe and also Hebrew 7 explains better.. Jesus told them to not only pay tithe but rather ensure they do all... Including tithing!!!!

Stop lying, Jesus did not receive tithes in that passage. Infact verse 12 of that passage states that Jesus was not qualified to receive tithes because he was not a levite and verse 18 describes tithe as a weak and useless law.

Now I know you are a very dishonest character by your deliberately trying to quote verse 25 out of context by not completing the verse. That verse says that the tither shall use the money to buy anything he wants and eat it in the presence of God. Most tithe preachers avoid this verse because it exposes the tithe scam but you in your desperation tried to quote it out of context.

Tell them. Tithe is the least of Christians giving. Why does the devil fights it so hard. It's simply a proof if the soirituality behind it.

When I read stuff like this, I just laugh. That it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it does not work for others. Church is not a charity organization, it is God's institution.

If you go to church to donate money for a something, you will have nothing in return. Giving tithe without the lay down rules bring you under a curse.

God is not a beggar neither is His church. If a church beg you money get out of there immediately.

Now, do you know the most giving tribe in the world is the Jews? Do you also they there are the most wealthy tribe in the world?
