bakynes:Stop arguing blindly, the Vatican is a country and the pope is the head of state. There is a Vatican embassy in Nigeria and you are saying it's not a country. |

Compare these countries with TI corruption index and world Bank development index. Very high in the former and very low on the latter. I submit that religiosity fertilize corruption and impede development. Opium!! |

ANTONINEUTRON:Emaculate question.religion means going to church/mosque,praying/fasting regularly, giving tithe/offering etc but godly means being honest, sincere, exibiting intergrity, truthful etc. Nigerians are VERY religous but highly ungodly!!! lol |

Mavrick2012:Why does god have to be involved for people to exhibit any of the following? Surely the countries with high atheist populations have many people who embody such qualities with zero belief or interest in gods. |

Mavrick2012:Christianity in China has a history going back to the 7th century during the Tang dynasty . Today, it comprises Catholics , Protestants , and a small number of Orthodox Christians. Although its lineage in China is not as ancient as the institutional religions of Taoism , Mahayana Buddhism and Confucianism , [note 1] Christianity has existed in China since at least the seventh century and has gained influence over the past 200 years.[3][4] In recent years, the number of Chinese Christians has increased significantly, particularly since the easing of restrictions on religious activity during economic reforms in the late 1970s; Christians were 4 million before 1949 (3 million Catholics and 1 million Protestants). [5] Today, accurate data on Chinese Christians is hard to come by. [6] According to official figures, Christians are 26 million, which excludes children and unregistered churches. [7] On the other hand, some international Christian organizations estimate there are tens of millions more. [8] In many parts of China, the practice of religion continues to be tightly controlled by government authorities. Chinese over the age of 18 are only permitted to join officially sanctioned Christian groups registered with the government-approved Protestant Three-Self Church and China Christian Council , and Chinese Patriotic Catholic Church .[9] On the other hand, many Christians practice in informal networks and unregistered congregations, often described as house churches or underground churches , the proliferation of which began in the 1950s when many Chinese Protestants and Catholics began to reject state-controlled structures purported to represent them. [10] Members of such groups are said to represent the "silent majority" of Chinese Christians and represent many diverse theological traditions. Islam in China has existed through 1,400 years of continuous interaction with Chinese society. [2] Currently, Muslims are a significant minority group in China. Hui Muslims are the majority Muslim group in China. The greatest concentration is in Xinjiang, with a significant Uyghur population. Lesser but significant populations reside in the regions of Ningxia , Gansu , and Qinghai . [3] Various sources estimate different numbers of adherents with some sources indicating that 1.5-4% of the total population in China are Muslims.[4] Of China 's 55 officially recognized minority peoples, ten groups are predominantly Sunni Muslim . China is officially an atheist state with one of the lowest percentages in the world of people who consider themselves religious. [ Wikipedia “Religion in China” ] Buddhism and Daoism (Taoism) are the most popular religions in China. However, there are also sizeable populations of Muslims (1-2%), and Christians (3-4%). [ Wikipedia “Religion in China” ] China has up to 300 million religious believers , according to a 2007 government-sponsored survey on spirituality and religion in China. The study disputed the long-standing official estimate of 100 million, a figure that has stood since the 1960’s. Buddhism, Taoism and Islam accounted for 67% of the believers. [ The Washington Post “Poll Finds Surge of Religion Among Chinese” Feb. 8, 2007 ] cheers!!!!! |

please, we are now smart, religion is a disease, my freinds brother had the opportuinity to travel to the USA with a freind of his, but because he was a choir master in his church he didnt want to leave, he said he loved the church and wld miss alot of people, the church even told him not to go that they wld pay him allowance, fast forward, three years later, the othe guy that went cam back to nigeria and built a mansion for his parents, bought them good cars, established a company in nigeria, he is a millionaire now......my freinds foolish brother still lives on 60k naira monthly..... nigerians lets be wise, why cant adeboye or oyedepo pray for boko haram to go.....no they cant do that because prayer cant do what humans are meant to do.... what will defeat boko haram is good strategies and good amunitions plus great welfare for our soldiers, not your useless prayers, prayers we have all being praying since independence, over 50years now una don dey pray, nigeria has never had 2weeks of interrupted power supply since its excistence......foolish people still hallucinate.... i will argue it with anybody, religion is nigerias major problem....... when pastor says GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS YOU....he has already bought 4 private jets, stupid followers still remain stupid |

Megaflex:You are free to make your choice. It is up to you to believe in God or not. If you think his way is hard for you to follow try the way of the world and its emptiness, you will know the difference ONE DAY Man when did you pray, fast and believe in God last, or you are taught in the knowledge of God? If your answer is no, you need to read beyond science and encyclopedia and add something higher and greater - something beyond vanity. |

I don't have problem with Religion however domination of religion over logical reasoning is absurd. Colonization of the concept of God has held Africans in shackles. We must wake up and redefine GOD. The colonialists concept of religion is fraud and a tool for imperialism. Sometimes I wonder if Jesus was a black deity, would the white ever kowtow before a black man. Africans need to wake up and ask fundamental question " Who is God ". Define your own God and progress. Know me before you worship me - if you don't know me how do you want to worship me. - sacred hadith |

Megaflex:anyway something makes me higher than your philosophy or thought. Life can't just exist without a medium, and how can you make comparison without a reference. You need resources that can inspire you whether documented or not, but the documented ones make it easier to navigate. |
| Re: Nigeria Is The 9th Most Religious Country In The World by Megaflex(m): 12:01pm On May 03, 2016 |
Rexyl:and u believ dat d bible is a documented source. have u seen any proof of existence of Abraham, Isaac or evn Jacob? or any proof of d wisest man dat eva lived, "Solomon"? d answer is NO, simply because they neva existed. Evn d Egyptians av more artifacts dan d xters written in bible. D whites knew wot they were doin wen they brought religion to Africa |
