SELFISH NLC. AFTER ALL THIS NONSENSE SHOW OF CORRUPTION AND DECEPTION . NLC LEADERS WILL GO AND COLLECT MONEY FROM GOVT AND KEEP SHUT. LABOUR PLS DO NOT DECEIVE NIGERIANS . 98% NIGERIANS ARE IN SUPPORT OF SUBSIDY REMOVAL, AFTERALL WHAT IS SUBSIDY? ONLY THE RICH AND THE CRIMINAL OIL CABALS ARE BENEFITTING. IT DOESTNT BENEFIT THE ORDINARY NIGERIANS. LET IT BE REMOVED THANK GOD THERE IS NO PROVISION FOR OIL SUBSIDY IN THE BUDGET. BUYING AT N145 WITH EASY AVAILABILTY AND BUYING AT N86 WITH NO AVAILABILITY WHICH IS PREFERABLE? PLS PEOPLE SHOULD REASON WITH THEIR BRAIN. |

People say Nigerians are enlightened hence they won't partake in the protest, but I say "those partaking in the protest are truly the enlightened Nigerians. Remove N13 subsidy and allow PMS be sold at N100. The proposed N145 is criminal - stealing by trick! |

This is totally unacceptable, if I may ask are we in military regime or civilian regime? I don't really understand d module operandi of this government if its democratic in nature or continuation of military regime. This is a government that doesn't believe in rule of law i.e. the government that refused Dasuki & Kanu to regain their freedom when our court of law grant the bail & it is the same government that not approached court to obtained court injunction to restraint NLC to protest against fuel increase & they expect them to honor it. It is now I understand that this government is not poor masses friend, all their policies is against the poor masses. They always lied/cajoled to us that they feel/share our pains whenever they want to implement their evil agendas. Why is it only the poor masses that is only making sacrifice to make this nation/country to be better, when are they(the so call leaders) going to make their own sacrifice for this nation to be better. They should stop fooling us. |

Walahi, that full meaning of APC is quite funny. A.P.C. - All Promises Cancelled. With this kind notoriety, who says PDP may not win back presidency come 2019? Besides, this looks like a good platform for someone to float another formidable political party. You are likely to win the election once you can again convince/confuse members of the public? PDP is assumed as failures, now APC has shown the substance they are made of and people are already fade up wih them, believe me, you are next to win if you float a fresh political party with the right figures backing the party. |

The federal government of Nigeria has implored labour unions in the country not to go ahead with its planned strike for Wednesday, 18th May 2016. Read Below: OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION PRESS RELEASE PROPOSED INDEFINITE STRIKE ACTION BY THE NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS The attention of all Public Officers is drawn to the notice issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to embark on an indefinite strike from Wednesday, 18th May, 2016. This notice is regrettably given in spite of an Order by the Industrial Court against the strike action. Government, therefore, calls upon and advises all workers to respect the laws of the land and to desist from participating in an illegal strike action. Government undertakes to guarantee the safety of workers and their work places, and expects that normal work will continue in the interest of the nation. 4 D INTREST OF THE NATION? WOT'VE U DONE 4 D NATION.

jauntty:NLC should try and see if it will work. If PENGASSAN/NUPENG could distant itself from the planned action, it's already DoA. I'll rather roll with the present punches and look forward to a positive future. Subsidy removal is way to go and it would encourage competitions in the sector. There are more pressing issues to strike against. NLC threat is coming too little too late. Sheer waste of time and resources. |

seunmsg:I understand that there are factions amongst the Labour Union and many of them are selfish and only think for themselves. However, it is pertinent that Nigerians stand up and express their grievances and let the world know. I am a sentimental supporter of Buhari and I have soft spot for him, however, I will not allow sentiment eroded my basic reasoning ability. There is a chaotic economic situation in the country. Nothing is working, no power, no good transportation system. This fuel price hike is terrible. I think Nigerians who do not want to speak up are yet to understand and feel the economic realities that are about to hit them. Exchange rate is off the roof, basic commodities will now begin to appear as luxuries. We are aware that the government does not have the money to pay for subsidy, but we, the masses, did not create the problem. It was actually the government who in their selfish and reluctance attitude created this problem. There are different ways to solve this issue, but total subsidy removal is just so harsh. I Stand with Buhari, but I support the protest against removal of oil subsidy. We cannot continue to suffer in this country. |
Guys please what's the situation? Are the banks open? The FG's tactic worked on you I see. How are you even sure of it's availability @ N145? Wasn't it available @ N87 Couple months ago? [and 2 even tink d same government is making us believe that d subsidy is still intact, that it has not been removed...One is not even sure anymore] |
Unfortunately, the strike is dead on arrival NLC should realize that the average Nigerian is not behind them this time around. I'd rather buy fuel at 145 with ease than spend 6hours on queue and still buy at 200 ***modified *** Those wailing and supporting Subsidy are the true enemies of this country. Basic economic reasonings wuldnt do anyone any harm. Nigeria can't afford to continue paying subsidy Don't just wail, bring forth sound reasonings and better alternatives We know people like you exist. I doubt if you have enough responsibility. So. The price does not affect you |

beyond even being available @145, what is the assurance that marketers wont sell above 145.. when it was sold @87, what was the mechanisms the government put in place to ensure that filling stations didnt go above 85naira... how can we now trust that the same filling stations wont sell above 145naira... nigerians are just tooooo gullible.... keep believing lies Kufie: |

Help me tell am oh...one question nobody has answer is, is it right for us to buy fuel refined in warri and Kaduna at 145# after all they said the refinery is working but not 100% so how do we differentiate between local refined fuel and import fuel...what I believe the govt did was tactically devalue the naira using subsidy as an excuse...besides how did they arrived at 285# exchange rate when they have no control over parallel market ...so many hururu .
